When I originally set out to find a photographer for my wedding, I had no idea what I was getting into. There is a good saturation of wedding photographers in my area, but most of them had similar offerings. I spent hours poring over similarly posed photos, each distinguished from the next only by the different faces peering out of the frame. I figured out fairly quickly that I would not be happy with that genre of photography.

After reaching the double digits in pages returned on Google for “wedding photographers NC”, I felt lost. Luck, however, found me stumbling across Mabyn Ludke Photography after refining my search terms. I remember perusing her website, one of about 10 tabs I had open at the time, and immediately closed the remaining tabs after seeing an image of a couple kissing in the rain, it’s actually a featured photo on this page. I had such a positive visceral reaction to that photo, as if I knew instinctively that this was the person I could trust to make permanent my vision of my wedding.
Flash forward to the morning of the wedding. Mabyn and Daniel constantly checked in with me, and made sure that Joe and I were as comfortable and relaxed as possible. They honored all of our wishes, and protected us so Joe and I could have a quiet moment with each other during our reception. I am honestly floored by how respectful and warm they remained during the wedding.

I told Mabyn this, and I think it sums up well how I feel regarding her services. I very often find myself with buyer’s remorse, especially for large purchases and especially when faced with a singular opportunity for attempt. One of my biggest fears for my wedding was that I would regret the choice of photographer, as I would not get a second try. At no stage in this experience have I felt this way. I am truly thankful that I stumbled on Mabyn’s website in the wee hours of the morning on a wedding planning bender. I can’t imagine how my day would have gone without her and Daniel!

Absolutely STUNNING!! All of Mabyn and Daniel's work is absolutely stunning! When I was researching a photographer, I was looking for someone who doesn't just pose and snap, but someone who truly gets the personality of people and can see a perfect picture when no one else does. After looking at Mabyn's portfolio, I fell in love because that is exactly what she does!! There wasn't one picture that I didn't like, so I said to myself "I have got to meet this girl!!". After meeting Mabyn and Daniel, I knew they were the perfect match for me! They were so much fun and easy to talk to. Then came time for my bridal portraits, I was so nervous, I was shaking, but Mabyn made me feel at ease and we had so much fun that morning. Before my wedding, Mabyn was in touch with me getting all the information she needed, I didn't need to worry about a thing. One my wedding day, everything was perfect! They had everything they needed set up and we didn't even know they were there. When it was time to take the wedding party and family pictures, she took lead and had everything under control, timing was very smooth. I loved the fact the me and Drew got our own personal time during the reception because Mabyn pulled us aside to do some couple pictures (which were fabulous) but it gave us some time to connect during all the craziness of the day. But my absolute favorite was the wedding premiere. We got to go to Mabyn and Daniel's home, hang out for a while and view a wedding slide show that Mabyn and Daniel put together for us. I cried, laughed and relived one of the best days of our life. Every picture that they took captured the real life of our wedding. I have the best pictures of family and friends laughing, dancing and having a great time without them knowing their picture was being taken.
I cant say enough great things about Mabyn Ludke Photography, I highly recommend and would choose them over all the other photographers out there again!

Note: Unfortunately we were unable to book with Mabyn due to our budget and finances changing, but if we had the room we would in a heartbeat!

I live in Florida and my wedding is in my hometown in Charlotte, NC so searching for wedding photographers long-distance has not only been stressful but very difficult. I had a Skype session with Mabyn and her husband and immediately fell in love with them. We probably talked for over an hour about everything from our wedding details to my obsession with kit kats. We even exchanged greetings with each other's pets (lol)! Mabyn is super responsive and accommodating and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. She is very passionate about what she does and I could tell she loves finding those perfect little moments to capture on your special day.

A+ photos, A+ folk!

I can't stop looking at our BREATHTAKING WEDDING PHOTOS!

In the summer of 2016, my husband & I (who live in South Carolina) flew this North Carolina based photographer & her second shooter (hubby Daniel) all the way to our destination wedding on the Caribbean Island of St. Thomas! So if we say she's worth it, we mean it!

My father said, "YOU GOT YOUR MONEY'S WORTH AND MORE"! and, "MABYN ISN'T AFRAID TO GET HER FEET WET!"...my dad's funny pun, as Mabyn proved her dedication with ocean water that rose ABOVE her knees, stairs, spiders, sweat, and many more stairs! My dad, who holds a degree in filmmaking, believes that a good photographer knows how to capture a moment. Although this is such a simple and obvious statement, it is much more difficult than it appears! So here's the point--Brides, don't skimp on your hair, makeup or photographer...because you're going to have those photos FOREVER!

Mabyn captures special, UNREPEATABLE moments that occur in but a split second in time. Her ability to “see” what others don’t, and to work majestic beauty with light, water, reflections and nature is a truly remarkable talent...and no doubt a gift from God. And those magazine-like photos of just the bride in a breathtaking pose--she does those too!

In addition, why not hire a photographer who will make your wedding planning LESS stressful. Frustrated with your caterer? Have a chat with Mabyn...the stress just rolls off. Seriously, I'm NOT making this up. In fact, our wedding was a great success in part thanks to Mabyn & Daniel! Mabyn brought a wonderful positive energy to the entire wedding day, from the time she entered my dressing room to the very end! She & Daniel (who, as the second shooter, also captured many of our beautiful photos) will both make you laugh! Any vendor can seem nice in the beginning, but MABYN & DANIEL ARE SINCERELY THE REAL DEAL!

Mabyn is just wonderful! She will put in her all to get gorgeous photos for you on your big day, including but not limited to: climbing down a steep hill to get the perfect shot, running around the reception and moving lighting around because the guests gathered on the wrong side for the garter toss, staying outside when it starts to rain during our ceremony! She does an amazing job and has such great vision for her photos. So happy to have had her on my team!

We absolutely adore Mabyn! She was so amazing capturing every single moment at our wedding! She is super personable and we immediately felt comfortable with her. She really has a true gift and her passion for people goes beyond photography. We could not imagine having had anyone else to do our wedding photos. Photography was the most important aspect in choosing and planning for our wedding because those photos will forever be there. Having someone who gave us photos that let us re-live those special moments mattered the most.

I don't even know where to begin in regards to how much I love and appreciate Mabyn Ludke Photography.

First of all, I am very well aware of the fact that I was not the easiest of clients to communicate with. While planning my wedding, I was in my final semester of PA school, planning a move to Washington DC, all while trying to study and pass my boards. So, Mabyn and I spent our first three months of sporadic emails trying to set up a time to talk. Once I got the chance to meet her, despite all the missed calls and forgotten emails on my part, there was no question in my mind that she was meant to be our photographer.

Mabyn is more than willing to work with you in regards to scheduling, her photography packages, and more. She also has the uncanny ability to capture a moment in time and actually make you feel as though you were present when it was taken. Her talent is undeniable and her work proves such. She is patient, kind, knowledgeable, willing to do anything to get the perfect picture, and always happy! Who doesn't love a genuinely happy person!?

She was always willing to help and offer advice to make things easier. When the wedding day finally did come, it was perfect and our photographs were breathtaking! The day that we had our reveal at her studio, I literally sobbed as we watched our slideshow because our photos were incredible and I truly felt like I would be able to relive my wedding day through her photos for the rest of my life.

Since our pictures have been posted on social media, I have gotten TONS of compliments from other brides about how incredible our wedding photos were and how they wish there's would've been comparable. And while I am definitely biased... our wedding pictures are the best that I have ever seen.

To anyone reading this, make the best decision in regards to your photographer and book Mabyn Ludke Photography! I absolutely plan on using her for any and all of our events in the future.

You can't go wrong with Mabyn!! The first time I saw her work I was extremely impressed! I loved her attention to detail and the way she captured those intimate candid moments. After meeting her I KNEW she was the one! ;) Mabyn is one of the most sincere and genuine people I've ever met, and her talent is limitless! Not only was she professional but she was also very instrumental in helping me stay calm and helping us stick to our timeline, which wasn't easy to do with all of the distractions! Let me say, the pictures speak for themselves! Mabyn truly delivered some of the most Beautiful wedding pictures I have ever seen, although I may be biased! I cannot tell you how many people have commented on our pictures saying that they belong in a magazine!
You spend so long planning your wedding and when the day finally arrives it goes by in a blur! The one thing you have left after the wedding to remember the special moments of your big day are the pictures. You want to make sure you connect with your photographer and that they know what you want. Mabyn has a sixth sense and a keen eye for documenting your wedding/engagement in the most gorgeous storybook way. She takes her time making sure everything is perfect and that is very evident in the work she does.
Choosing Mabyn for your photographer is the best decision you'll make aside from saying "I do!"

Mabyn made the whole process very easy! She made us feel very comfortable and was willing to go above and beyond for us! Where even to begin? From the first point of contact with Mabyn, I could tell that I wanted her to be the one to capture all the memories from my perfect day. She was available whenever I needed to chat, skype and text with. We never met in person until the wedding, but the moment she walked through the door- it felt like we were the best of friends! What I loved most about having Mabyn shooting us, was that she was always about capturing moments. I never felt "posey" and she was never in your face. Do yourself a favor and chat with Mabyn. I guarantee that after you do- you'll know that she's the perfect fit for you!

We had an amazing wedding with amazing people and scenery on a beautiful day, and Mabyn was still the best part of the day. She made everything so fun, smooth, and captured the best parts of the wedding. With the day now months over, all I have are Mabyn photos and I am so thankful I choose her to capture my wedding. Having each memory captured with Mabyn artful tint adds such color and art to the event in mind and increases the euphoria of my memories even more!

Prior to choosing Mabyn for our wedding day, we met with lots of other photographers. For me it was important that the person who captured our wedding could not only capture our day, but could also take pictures that we would be proud to display on our way as art. It was also important that we liked our photography too, which we do, a ton! The whole process was easy and stress free and we have beautiful photographs of our day!

Mabyn is a phenomenal photographer and artist! It was important to me to find someone with skill and creativity, and we found exactly that! Not to mention how fun she is and the many commonalities we share!

If you have done any research on Mabyn and her work than you already know it is outstanding. If you are considering hiring MLP go get a cup of coffee with her, I am sure you wont have any questions about hiring her afterwords.

Mabyn is a consummate professional with a delightful, effervescent personality, which is the perfect mix one wants in a photographer (and a person in general!) at one's wedding. She captured both beautiful, emotional moments and exuberant, rock-out-to-the-music gestures with equal artistic flair, and managed to strike the impossible balance between actively eliciting moments from her subjects and fading into the background to allow both us and our guests to be captured in candid celebration. My husband and I cannot recommend her more highly!

I can't say enough good things about Mabyn! From the first time that I looked at her photos on her blog to receiving our wedding album, I am so impressed with her artsy eye and her ability to work with whatever the day provides! And we definitely gave her a challenge! Our You + Me engagement photo session the October before our wedding was done right before the effects of Hurricane Sandy rolled into town & we couldn't keep the rain away again on our wedding day! Mabyn was calm as ever - dashing into the rain to scout out new & gorgeous "rain" shooting locations to keep us from getting wet before the ceremony & adapting to our back-up ceremony location inside for the ceremony and after-ceremony photos (which had to be taken at the same location as our cocktail hour due to the rain) with ease, She was also right on top of capturing all of the important shots during the wedding ceremony & reception - without being intrusive - you could hardly tell she was there - but she was EVERYWHERE! Mabyn is a true professional but treats all of her clients not just as clients but as friends! Her friendly demeanor helps to put you at ease. Amy, her assistant, was amazing as well! I can't say enough good things about Mabyn - I would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Mabyn is wonderful! She traveled to Boston for our engagement photos, and was there on our wedding day to capture every moment. Her positive energy and great personality just puts you at ease. Mabyn captured the traditional photos that I wanted from our big day, but also took some wonderful artsy shots that I love! I highly recommend Mabyn to be your photographer!

My husband and I just returned from our “Wedding Premiere” with our amazing photographer, Mabyn Ludke. Mabyn totally understood my vision for a 1920s’ Downtown Abbey/Great Gatsby wedding and breathed creative life into the beautiful photos for the trilogy of our engagement, bridal and wedding shoots. She has traveled with us during this most special journey and has become a cherished friend that we are blessed to know. I found Mabyn’s website and was immediately drawn to the raw emotions she captures on the faces of the people she photographs such as a father trying to hold back tears as he dances with his daughter or a groom looking through eyes of love at his beautiful bride. There are plenty of funny shots too as Mabyn has a quirky sense of humor and joy for life. She captures those emotions because she feels them and connects on a deeper level with her clients whom she considers friends. Mabyn is a stealth “photo sniper” that can click rounds of photos without you realizing it until your Wedding Premiere when you get to view all of the wonderful photos she took undercover. Today, I was amazed and thankful at how many images of friends and family she captured in the short time frame we gave her at our reception. Mabyn has an incredible eye for finding those shots that no one else would find or even think to look for. Reflections and sun flares have become two of my favorite words. If your view all of her wedding, engagement and bridal shoots, none of them are the same. Each one is unique and that is another word I would use to describe her work. Mabyn is gifted in being able to bring out the beauty in every woman she photographs. Simply Beautiful Couture is a new part of her photography business that celebrates that. It is not only a business but a ministry to share women’s stories of struggles and victories and her photography helps them to heal. I feel that Mabyn’s heart is the most special thing about her. I would give her 10 stars if I could!

I would highly recommend Mabyn Ludke Photography!! She is amazingly creative. She had shot many weddings at my venue before and my photos were still totally unique to anything she had done there before. She is so easy to get along with and made me feel so completely comfortable. I was able to be myself around her and our wedding photos came out amazing because of it. I didn't even know she was taking a picture half the time.. and the pictures still came out great! She is THAT good.

Mabyn and Tim were just perfect to work with. The whole experience with Mabyn from the first communication to the thank-yous that followed was exactly what my now-husband and I had hoped for. Mabyn is able to disappear into the texture of the event when necessary to capture amazing moments, but she's also an amazing, kind, funny, knowledgeable and savvy person so if you're not having a great time with her on the day of the wedding, you are seriously missing out. She did the best job handling our huge families, and gracefully managed Jon's gregarious father who used to be a wedding photographer himself...

Finally, the pictures. Are. Phenomenal. PHENOMENAL. A colleague of mine called them the most beautiful wedding pictures she'd ever seen.

I still have guests complimenting MLP when they reflect on the wedding. Mabyn and Tim were the perfect balance of helpful, respectful and supportive but also fun and crazy (a good match for us and our wedding party). For me in particular, I wasn’t exactly well-versed in wedding tradition, and Mabyn was able to step in and be not only a photographer but sort of a “wedding mentor” in the moments I needed it most. Mabyn Ludke has been a personal friend for many years so the following review is truly biased. Secondly, the 0-5 scoring system here is for wedding services and this review is intended for future brides... Oh wait, we spent $0 on wedding photography...we are so cheap! I think future brides would find this comment helpful: pay Mabyn to go on a destination wedding with you. Preferably a tropical location, all-inclusive. BTW, the baby pictures are amazing! I mean the one picture I've seen so far... I'd give that a 5/5. Can't wait to see the rest. Lastly, the rating categories listed above lists "flexibility" as a measurable attribute. I would say the physical skills used to get the extreme shots were impressive, she must work out. I gave her a 5/5 for that too. Add yoga to the all-inclusive destination wedding package.

Where do I begin....Mabyn is AMAZING!! We could not be happier with our wedding photos. Seriously, if you want a creative, fun, and professional photographer for your wedding day, or for any special event, you should really consider Mabyn. In my opinion, she is the best around! What I loved most about Mabyn is that she made us feel completely at ease on our wedding day, so we were able to just relax and be ourselves, which means so much. I also love that Mabyn limited the traditional-style wedding photos and added a lot of her own creativity to get shots that have blown me away! For an example, Mabyn had our wedding party climb up onto an old docking station and got some amazing shots! Mabyn did a great job of capturing the emotion and excitement of our day. Looking through the photos, it was amazing because I didn't even realize she was there to take some of them! I cannot recommend Mabyn enough to future brides and grooms!

Mabyn is so attentive, and is such an energetic and warm person. She makes you feel like a friend, not just a client. Even guests at our wedding commented on her professionalism and photographic eye. Our photos are fabulous, and we will definitely be calling her for portraits when our new baby arrives!!

Mabyn was absolutely fantastic! She was very discreet during the wedding ceremony and managed to get every beautiful shot possible! Mabyn was a life saver for me when my photographer fell through the day before my wedding. She came to my rescue and was able to work last minute even with my limited budget. She was extremely professional and has amazing artistic talent and vision. She even assisted me getting into my dress and bustling after the ceremony. Mabyn is a truly talented photographer and was a pleasure to work with! We searched for weeks to find the right photographer to shoot our winter wedding. When we stumbled upon Mabyn's website, we knew we had found our photographer. She was easy to work with, extremely flexible, and offered great suggestions on details that we weren't sure of. Mabyn truly cares for her clients and will treat you like a long lost best friend from the moment you meet. All of this aside, she is an amazing photographer! She works really hard to capture all of the important moments of your day, but also the small details...the details that take you months to plan and then never notice on your wedding day. I knew the moment I first looked through the online gallery at Mabyn's website that she was going to be my wedding photographer. It was love at first sight. :) Seriously though, her talent is unmistakable and she has a keen eye for gorgeous shots that truly capture the emotion of your big day (*tearing up*). Furthermore, she displays the utmost courtesy and respect for you, your wedding, and what it means to you. We were so happy with our choice to book Mabyn to photograph our wedding - our photos were absolutely gorgeous, and she did a great job capturing all those special little moments throughout the day. Mabyn and her assistant were both professional and fun to work with, and they blended in so well at our small family wedding that I barely noticed them grabbing candid shots.
I would highly recommend Mabyn Ludke Photography for wedding photography. Definitely book an engagement photo shoot as well - we love our engagement photos, maybe even more than the actual wedding photos, because they capture who we really are as a couple.
