I found Melissa off of theknot.com and hired her after calling a few other top wedding planners of the area. We ended up hiring Melissa because we were planning a destination wedding from across the country (we were moving mid planning) and needed to decide on a location and everything else soon. Melissa gave us great suggestions because there were some things we knew we wanted (or didn't want), but we didn't know how to express it. Her vendor suggestions helped us narrow down our choices, and gave us somewhere to start! Melissa translated our desires to the vendors and got us everything we wanted and helped us stayed in our budget. She also understood our tastes to help us create something we loved, and totally reflected our personality. If anyone is thinking about hiring her, I totally suggest it. I was a happy bride because I didn't have to worry about anything! Melissa kept us on a timeline, and helped us be prepared for all the things that could go wrong and what our back up plan would be! So many people commented that they were surprised I was able to eat my dinner because I was able to enjoy my own wedding!

It is so clear that Melissa Barbier of Luxurious Event is doing what she loves to do. My partner and I were awed by her excitement about the event as well as her professional, client-first approach. Her knowledge and vendor relationships were thorough and proved to be extremely useful throughout the planning of the wedding. But beyond her professionalism and competency, Melissa became a friend who was as committed as we were to making our wedding day "perfect." She offered her ideas and vision, and was just as enthusiastic and receptive to our own "non traditional" innovations for our day. We never felt pressured, but rather supported, in making every decision - big or small. I could not fathom having had the wedding of our dreams (which we did, and more!) without Melissa and Luxurious Event in our corner. Thank you!

You will NOT be disappoionted with Melissa and her team at Luxurious Event. My only regret is that I did not hire her the day I got engaged!

I can't possibly put into words my gratefulness for Melissa. She was without question the best investment we made for our wedding - my husband agrees too. She kept everything organized and in order, asking me questions that I never would have thought of. I consider myself to be a very organized young lady, but Melissa is the most organized, no-nonsense, agenda-oriented person I have met. She must have been an octopus to get everything in place perfectly. During our reception, we frequently got behind schedule (somehow all of our speeches were really long!), and Melissa kept everything straight. For example, she came up to me and said "your photographer is leaving at 11pm. If we do dancing now as planned, he won't get to shoot the cake cutting and the bouquet toss. I would recommend..." She was the only vendor I had to talk to all night because she just got everything done! -- if we didn't like the music the DJ was playing, we told Melissa and she took care of it. She made sure all the right pictures were taken. She was my one point of contact for the whole night, and she made sure everything went smoothly all night long. Not only did she keep everything perfectly organized, but she also did so with a warmth, calmness, and supportiveness that I truly appreciated. And of note, she helped us from 10am-1am that day -- Melissa has stamina!!!
Although we purchased her "day of" services, she was willing to meet with us in advance, have a loooonggg conversation on the phone, answer our millions of questions over email, and pick up all of our stuff (flutes, table names, etc) in advance of the big day.
I can't say enough good things about Melissa - she absolutely exceeded our expectations, and I sincerely know that our wedding would not have been as successful without her!

We couldn't have asked for our wedding to be a more perfect and stress free day. Melissa helped make this day spectacular from the beginning with planning and ideas to the organization and execution the day of. I don't know how we would have done it without her!
