  The Eleve Cosmetics/Gertie Glam team was awesome! Lacey made me look and feel like a princess on my wedding day. I don’t wear a ton of makeup and she made me feel beautiful without being overdone. She was able to make my hair even more beautiful than the inspiration photos I shared with her. My bridesmaids and family members had a great time getting ready with the rest of the team and all looked so beautiful!!

  Gertie is hands down the best. She's so fun & easy to work with. She makes you look & feel absolutely beautiful. She did my hair & makeup for our wedding & it looked absolutely amazing. I still do a double take when I look at pictures from the day. She can accommodate any style / vibe you're going for & executes flawlessly. Her entire team did an amazing job. My bridesmaids wanted a mixture of updos & braids & natural curls; some wanted muted makeup & others wanted bolder looks -- the Gertie Glam team were fantastic. Everyone was truly thrilled with the finished hair & makeup. The team was super friendly, timely & extremely well organized; we finished ahead of schedule which is so nice on such a hectic day ;) I highly recommend the Gertie Glam team!!
  
  Additionally, The Eleve team (Eleve is Gertie's makeup line) opened a new champagne bar in South Austin that I got to go to for my makeup trial run. It's such a chic, yet cozy space. It was super fun be pampered while practicing for the main event. I can't wait to go back & have a glass of bubbly + browse moisturizers, lip glosses & other cool, eco-friendly, not-tested-on-animals, local products. Thanks Gertie + Team! XOXO

  Gertie recently did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and I couldn't have been happier! She worked with me on a few trial runs, as well as on the wedding day, to make sure I got the look and style I really wanted, and was great at incorporating my feedback. She made my fine hair movie-star big and glamorous, and my makeup looked amazing all night long! Gertie is very responsive to emails/texts/calls, and perhaps most importantly, is very sweet and a delight to work (and chat) with.

  Gertie did my makeup for my wedding, and I felt so beautiful! The schedule was off and I was running behind, but Gertie took my worries away by assuring me that I would be right on time, and I was!! She is confident and is great at what she does! Let Gertie Glam you up!!

  Gertie is the best!
  I have been searching a long time for someone who could make me look beautiful while keeping my look natural, and she is the best I've ever encountered at that. Whether it's a wedding or a date night, she does beautiful make-up that never looks overdone, only enhances natural beauty. Other nights I might be going to a concert or club and I'm interested in trying out fun and adventurous looks, and Gertie can execute those just as effortlessly!
  She did my make-up for my brother's wedding a couple of years ago, and ever since, I have been hooked. My friends have come to visit and it's especially fun for Gertie to come over and do our make-up before we head out for the night. She's super sweet, flexible, and is even willing to come to my house when I need make-up done in a rush. Time flies while she does my make-up while we're chatting, and before I know it I'm looking in the mirror and feeling blown away again by how much I love it!
  I recommend her to anyone; whether you're looking for a subtle, natural look or all-out glam, she does it all!

  Gertie was such a doll to work with for my best friend's wedding. I helped the bride with finding the perfect make up and hair stylist for her perfect day. From the second I contacted Gertie, she was informative, quick to respond, and immediately let me know if she was available that day. She books up so fast, so I wouldn't hesitate! She arrived at the venue on time and ready to beautify us girls up! She did a wonderful job and pleased every bridesmaid and the bride looked absolutely stunning.   Gertie is adorable! She was super flexible with one of the girls in my party who couldn't make her mind up about her hair. She was also creative with other in my party who had no idea what they wanted.

  AMAZING! That is Gertie Murray!! I could not have been more pleased with the job Gertie did for me this March. Not only is she professional and a pleasure to be around, she is also a true artist. She transformed the bags under my eyes, seemed to erase every sunspot on my face and made my skin look flawless and luminous. The way she blends eye shadow and helps color match the exact look I wanted was unlike anyone I have ever worked with. She pays attention to every detail and takes her time to ensure every last lash and blush stroke is perfect. I was speechless when I looked in the mirror for the 1st time.

  Even though I know Gertie personally, I can absolutely say from a customers aspect she is amazing at what she does. She provided the makeup for my sister's wedding this past Aug. She did an amazing job on everyone especially the bride's (my sis) she was absolutely gorgeous. If she lived closer to me, I would hire her to do my makeup every day ;)

My makeup lasted all night, with the best part being it felt very light and airy, not at all cakey or heavy feeling. She really knows how to accentuate your best features and make you feel glamorous. In addition to her amazing artistry skills, Gertie is one of the sweetest, most fun loving people you'll meet. After spending just a few minutes with her, you immediately feel like you've been friends with her for years. I would definitely recommend Gertie Glam to anyone wanting to look and feel beautiful for any event. She's the best out there!!

  I've been honored to have Gertie do my hair and make up numerous times and I keep going back to her because she is Awesome. She keeps up with new styles and takes into consideration who you are and what you are trying to achieve. She also is the sweetest person you'll ever meet....and gorgeous to boot!

  Unprofessional, exploitative, low quality

  The was worst experience I’ve had in my entire wedding planning process. Gertie essentially charged me $950 for a subpar trial — explained below — she doesn’t care about her clients, she cares about money and it shows in her exploitative pricing for brides.
  
  Gertie convinced me to pay $600 for a trial, and another $600 for my wedding day HMU after I was hesitant to do so. I thought $600 for a trial was insane after doing trials with others in town but assumed the quality would reflect the cost. I was severely mistaken. They use cheap hair products products (chemical filled $11 target brands) and the makeup quality is terrible - when I left the trial and looked in my car mirror I saw I had a paintbrush stroke across my forehead and the mascara was already flaking down my cheeks, the lashes were blunt cut and uneven. It was embarrassing.
  
  Needless to say I immediately cancelled my wedding day appointment and let Gertie know (who had been responsive up until that point) and didn’t receive a response for over a week and a half (and after three follow ups).
  
  She ignored my recounting of what happened in the trial did not acknowledge the issues, she just told me they’d be keeping the $350 deposit for the appointment I cancelled. Essentially saying she felt my being charged $950 for a subpar trial and a cancellation is fair because she technically could charge me the full amount -- which I find sickening.
  
  I find this disturbing and unprofessional behavior from the owner of a business. She doesn’t care about her clients, she cares about money and it shows in her exploitative pricing for brides.
  
  Do yourself a favor and work with someone who actually cares, uses quality products and is a professional.

  Needless to say I immediately cancelled my wedding day appointment and let Gertie know (who had been responsive up until that point) and didn’t receive a response for over a week and a half (and after three follow ups).
  
  She ignored my recounting of what happened in the trial did not acknowledge the issues, she just told me they’d be keeping the $350 deposit for the appointment I cancelled. Essentially saying she felt my being charged $950 for a subpar trial and a cancellation is fair because she technically could charge me the full amount -- which I find sickening.
  
  I find this disturbing and unprofessional behavior from the owner of a business. She doesn’t care about her clients, she cares about money and it shows in her exploitative pricing for brides.
  
  Do yourself a favor and work with someone who actually cares, uses quality products and is a professional.
