Flying Caballos was such an incredible venue for our wedding weekend. Having the houses onsite made it so convenient for friends and family to stay at the venue, and they served as the perfect place to get ready on wedding morning. We hosted rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks on the lawn on Friday night, and then our full wedding on Saturday split between the upper lawn and barn, and we got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue is. When we had concerns about some of the lighting on the lawn, the venue manager Sarah was wonderful and took care of it immediately. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone, it was perfect! -

We were lucky enough to rent the entire property for four days with our families for our wedding, and honestly, it was nothing short of magical. Between all the beautiful houses and the gorgeous barn, the venue blew us away. It was exactly what we dreamed of — a perfect place to celebrate, relax, and make unforgettable memories with everyone we love.
Sarah deserves a special shoutout, from the moment we booked in March 2024 all the way to our wedding day in May 2025, she was an absolute dream to work with. So organized, kind, and always quick to respond, Sarah made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. We felt truly supported every step of the way.
We absolutely loved everything about the venue and can’t wait to come back with our families every year to relive the magic of this incredible place! If you get the chance to book it, don’t think twice — it’s truly unforgettable! -

Flying Caballos Ranch was one of our top choices for our wedding venue given its location, outdoor beauty, and beautiful landscape. Property/event manager Sarah was responsive, easy to work with, and very accommodating. This wedding venue also has chairs and tables available for use, which was very desirable. I absolutely recommend this venue for weddings and wedding weekends. We had the opportunity to stay 4 nights with our wedding party and close family on the property, and we wouldn't have changed a thing! Flying Caballos Ranch feels homey, rustic, all while having a modern flare. Rolling hills, elegant barn, and endless scenic views are the perfect backdrop for your wedding! -

We had the most incredible experience hosting our wedding at Flying Caballos Ranch, and we are so glad we chose this venue! From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of how beautiful and picturesque the entire property is. The venue itself is stunning, with so many incredible spaces to choose from, and it felt like the perfect backdrop for our big day.
We booked the venue for the entire weekend ($24,000), and as part of their Valentine's day sale, they generously offered us an extra night for free, which was such a thoughtful bonus given that our wedding was held on a 3 day weekend.
In addition to the main venue, we had access to four other properties on the ranch, all of which were beautifully maintained and offered unique features. Our absolute favorite was the Honeymoon Suite, which was beyond perfect—charming and cozy. It was the ideal space for us to relax and unwind after the excitement of the wedding!
We also hosted a BBQ after the event in the Farmhouse backyard, which was the perfect casual, relaxed vibe for our guests to continue celebrating. The space was beautiful, and Sarah, the venue manager, was there every step of the way to make sure everything went smoothly. She was incredibly helpful, attentive, and a true pleasure to work with—her support made all the difference in making our wedding day unforgettable.
Overall, Flying Caballos Ranch is a dream venue. The beautiful spaces, the exceptional service, and the extra special touches made our wedding weekend truly magical. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a stunning location with amazing service and an unforgettable experience! -

Flying Caballos is the perfect combo of "backyard", barn, vineyard vibes and it was exactly what we were looking for for our wedding weekend. Our families hadn't met until that week,, and the location allowed us to all stay on the property and get to know each other over the course of the weekend. We hosted a welcome dinner Friday night up by the farmhouse, then the wedding reception at the Barn, which provided a cool journey for our guests who got to experience the property at different times of day and see the gorgeous views from all angles. Would highly recommend this location to anyone, it's really magical. -

Perfect Venue
When looking at wedding venues we immediately knew that FCR was where we wanted to get married. The welcome area at the Farmhouse and ceremony field have great views and plenty of space to welcome guests, and the barn is the perfect spot for after ceremony drinks and dancing.
It feels like you get a lot of variety and space for the day by breaking up the different components to different areas, and we loved that it was close enough to town for our guests to uber home or to hotels. We got many many compliments on the venue and it had the perfect vibe for the day we planned.
I stayed the night before in the cosy cottage on location and my bridemaids and I got ready day of in the Farmhouse, while the groomsmen took over the cosy cottage to get ready. We held our ceremony on the lawn overlooking Islay and had the meal / reception inside the barn. It was important to us to have an indoor space as it does get cold in the evenings here - we also used outdoor heaters so our guests could enjoy the space outside the barn for passed apps and drinks post ceremony and the older guests enjoyed sitting by the fireplace later into the evening.
Sarah at FCR was our coordinator, and I couldn't recommend highly enough - she made the planning and the day easy and stress free, even when we had to postpone a year due to covid! She was fantastic at communicating at the rehearsal the night before and ensuring the day ran smoothly and on time and I see great benefit in having her and her knowledge of the venue and vendors as part of the planning process.
We had the perfect day at FCR and couldn't be happier with the venue we chose and service we received, I wouldn't change a thing. We had a lot of out of town guests and felt FCR displayed the best features of the area, while remaining close to town and ticking all our boxes for accommodation on site and an inside reception area etc. Also, it is also a beautiful place to wake up on morning of and morning after the wedding! We live close by, but it felt like a destination wedding! Wedding date 07/09/22 -

We got married in Sept 2022 and could not imagine a better venue. It was really important to us that our bridal party could all stay onsite for the weekend. Flying Caballos provided that and more! Not only were we able to provide lodging we also hosted our rehearsal dinner on the property. We loved that we could have the ceremony on the lawn overlooking the rolling hills and that the reception was just a stroll down the beautiful steps to the barn. The staff was incredible and we are so, so happy that we got married at our dream venue. Thank you Flying Caballos Ranch! -

Such a beautiful place for a wedding! My Husband and I had the perfect wedding weekend with family and friends at Flying Caballos Ranch. My husband and I had planned to marry here in September of 2020 but due to Covid we had to reschedule. Sarah with Flying Caballos Ranch was very understanding and made the rescheduling processes so easy! This ranch really is fantastic, the best coastal venue in our opinion, a true hidden gem! It is GORGEOUS and has so many different spots on the property for photos, guests to stay, and host different events for the wedding. The old dairy house and the yard were perfect for our rehearsal dinner, super chill and beautiful. The grass overlooking Islay Hill was an amazing spot for our ceremony and the barn is AWESOME! The barn has all kinds of room to set-up inside and out or both, it is a beautiful canvas for any event! It is centrally located in SLO, across the street from the airport which made it really easy for our out of state guests and sits perfect with 360-degree views, truly amazing. Sarah and her team were so helpful and truly cared about us and guests and had no hesitation to make any changes needed to keep the day memorable. Good people to know and to work with, we have nothing but appreciation in having them by our side for our wonderful day! We had the weekend of our dreams and would recommend this venue to anyone! Christine Sent on 08/24/2018Flying Caballos Ranch was the perfect wedding venue! It has so much charm and character to offer. By the end of the weekend, I did not want to leave...like ever. The property is BIG and it very versatile. We used the main house to host taco truck rehearsal the first night. For the day of the ceremony we set-up outside on the lawn and hosted the reception in the STUNNING barn just built over the past year. The barn was a good fit for our wedding as it was a great compromise between our parents vision and ours. I lovingly refer to it as 'The Country Club of Barns' :)

I had been eyeing the venue for about 7 years, so I was very excited to finally get to have our wedding there and it to exceed my expectations. We wanted our wedding party and families to be able to stay on the property so we could really enjoy the entire weekend together. The weather was perfect and the hills were still green in late May due to the large amount of rain we had all winter. People had warned us about the wind in Edna Valley, but our day had a very light breeze. The location is perfect because you feel like you are out in the country, but you are only 10 minutes from downtown SLO. I wish I could go back and re-live the entire day again. We hope we can come back and book a weekend getaway soon. -

Sarah is great to work with- organized and on top of it, and she knows all the best people to work with in the area. We recommend staying for three or four days if you can, to really soak it in! We had our immediate families and wedding party stay for the weekend (had a couple days to hang before the ceremony). It was the best, most peaceful weekend that I've had in a long time. Beautiful location, wonderful service from the Flying Caballos team...couldn't ask for more. We love the character of Flying Caballos--it's such a unique venue that we will cherish for years to come. We're already planning our 5-year anniversary trip with our wedding party! -

Brittany Sent on 04/06/2014This is the most incredible venue site! The property is just stunning and everything is meticulously cared for. The places to take photos are never ending. Seriously, leave yourself a lot of time for photos! We worked with the new site manager, Krysta, who was wonderful. We were the first wedding she handled and she went above and beyond to support us and make sure everything was perfect. She was flexible, responsive and accommodating with all our changes, needs and requests. We rented the big house for two nights and the guest houses for three so all our families were able to stay on site. We held a rehearsal lunch on Friday afternoon which was fabulous. The backyard is so beautiful, warm and inviting. Our guests had an amazing time and got to know the property. It was fun showing off the space. We had our wedding the next day. We held the ceremony in the backyard of the guest house which was shielded from the wind and looked out on the vineyard. We also chose to set up a tent right beyond the white fence. This was the right decision since it was chilly and ended up raining at the end of the night. The tent was stunning with two peaks and clear sides so you could see the sunset. Our guests were warm and happy! Overall it was the perfect wedding! I would highly recommend this site and Krysta, she was awesome. -

User919822 Sent on 09/02/2012This was the perfect spot for our wedding! All of our family is from out of town and we all got to stay together (24 of us) in one spot for 3 nights and 4 days. The property is beautifully manicured and really does not need much decorating to make it just spectacular!!!
The property manager is friendly, professional and super easy to work with!! We cant wait to have another celebration at Flying Caballos!!! -

In spit of the fact that we were 10 minutes from downtown, we felt as though we were in the middle of the country far removed from any hustle and bustle. There us an idyllic beauty that is hard to match anywhere else. -

I fell head over heels in love with FCR from the moment I stepped foot on the property. Effortlessly charming, the venue offers both breathtaking landscapes and modern facilities that cater to the bride who wants a more upscale rustic vibe. There truly is an unspoken magic to this place apart from it being a venue.
But as a venue, it also far exceeds expectations. The property's setup lends itself well to a natural wedding flow, where every space can offer something new to guests and can be used in a variety of ways. FCR is both large and spacious and homey and inviting at the same time, which can be rare with venues. Sarah is easy to work with and responds quickly. Vendors are also familiar with the property and have a good flow come wedding weekend.
I cant sing enough high praise for this place - it truly for me embodies a feeling of warmth and comfort. It felt like home and that meant so much to me when celebrating such a major life event and for that reason, above all, I truly loved having my wedding here so much. -
