Bob Gail's "Higher Ground" was INCREDIBLE and worth every penny

We hired Bob Gail's dance band "Higher Ground" for our wedding last month at the Bel Air Bay Club. Having a live band at our wedding was always my dream but admittedly not my fiancee's or her family's. Any skepticsim completely evaporated by the time the wedding reception started. Our band--11 pieces, including trombone--was spectacular. I really can't say enough about how fun the evening was with Higher Ground leading the dance floor. We, and all our guests, danced non-stop. From start to finish, the band's song selections perfectly matched the energy throughout the evening. Every member was super talented, with the lead singers perfectly capturing the sound and feel of the original songs but with an energy that is only possible performed live. We were seriously impressed with their sheer versatility, jumping effortlessly between different genres and eras. We also had a few specific requests that the band very flexibily accommodated. We had choreography for our first dance and the band offered to rehearse with us before the reception. We also wanted to play some recorded songs during the band's breaks and they wove our songs into their own set list seamlessly. Bob Gail also offered a very intuitive song selection tool on which we could specify which songs we wanted to hear at the wedding. They even went out of their way to learn a song that was not part of their set list but that they knew we love. The band members were also incredibly friendly and gracious. They felt like a part of the family for the night. Even now, a month after the wedding, we still have family members tell us how great the band was and one guest even told me she can't wait to hire them for her own son's wedding no matter the cost.

Best band any couple can ask for

My husband and I remembered loving the band when we attended a wedding in LA. So, for our wedding, we hired the band to come to Bend, Oregon.

Boy, were they a hit! Scott and the team were so easy to work with and they went above and beyond our expectations. If you ever wonder what band can play a classic 80s song followed by trap music successfully, it would be Bob Gail, hands down. We’ve gotten so many compliments from friends and family. The consensus is that this band is the best that any of our wedding guests have ever heard. The band kept the dancing vibes high and even impromptu played a part of a song to accompany a speech. We’d get married again and again so we can hired them again.

The band even learned an obscure piece of music for my processional within a week!

By far the best band, 100% recommend!

We are 7 weeks out from our wedding and honestly still coming down from the high! We wanted to send a thank you note to both of you as well as the whole band. We cannot express enough how AMAZING you were!!!

We knew by booking you it was going to be a fabulous experience but the caliber, energy, performance, repertoire was out of this world!!!!! We can honestly say you completely outdid yourselves! Our goal was to have all seats empty and the dance floor full and did you over deliver! We have had many (and by many, I mean most!) guests comment on the wedding, specifically about the band. It was truly a memorable night (a lot by your doing), where our group was able to come together and celebrate.

We did pass along your information to a couple guests and hopefully will see you again in the future.

Do Not Use Anyone Else.

We have been to many weddings with mediocre bands, or worse yet a DJ. Here we had fantastic musicianship, along with flexibility of song selection. We collaborated with them to form the setlist of my dreams. The dance floor was going the entire night.

Best wedding band ever

I cannot say enough good things about this band and the entire experience of working with them. Every member of this band is a super celebrated and incredibly talented musician in their own right and when they come together it is the most incredible experience. As we were dancing, i would often stop to just marvel at the heady level of musicianship happening. I cannot say enough good things about Bob Gail Music and The Backlines! They truly made our wedding incredible.

If you want a party like no other

If you want a party like no other, you HAVE to hire
Bob Gail Music. Their band Jump Start made my
daughter's wedding - everyone danced the night
away! It was an enchanted evening. The band is
truly extraordinary. All evening, and for days
afterwards I had guests asking: "where did you you
find this band?" The band read the crowd and
played to them. They are true musicians and they
have an unmatched energy and charisma. They also
have an exceptional depth and range and a huge
song list. For the cocktail hour and ceremony Bob
Gail provided a jazz trio and they walked the
wedding party down the aisle, making for a
beautiful ceremony. Brian Pincus is the face of Bob
Gail (he also plays in the band - a real talent) and is
an absolute pleasure to work with. From start to
finish he is on top of things and pays an attention to
every detail. With Scott and Brian you know that you
are in good hands and that you will be taken care of.
They are attentive to your questions and your
concerns and understand that for you the wedding
is the most important day of your year and that you
want it to be perfect. With Bob Gail Music it will be
perfect. The right band makes an evening and Jump
Start was the right band, and Bob Gail Music are the
right people. I can't wait to have have another party
just because.

Bob Gail Music played at our wedding

Bob Gail Music/The Backlines performed at our wedding and the compliments have not stopped rolling in since. They were unbelievable and kept the crowd on their feet from the very first minute til close. We were blown away by the band, period. Even prior to the wedding day, Scott and his team were super professional, responsive, and easy to work with. The band learned a few new songs for us and tailored the entire evening to what we are remembering now as the best concert we’ve ever been to with all of our loved ones. Hire them! You’ll have the best night of your life and your guests will be thankful. We are so appreciative and can’t stop thinking about how they crushed it and made the most fun night beyond special. Truly amazing!

HiRE Higher Ground Now!

I can not say enough good things about Higher Ground! We initially had another band for our wedding (Traffic Jam) who, when we had to reschedule due to COVID, screwed us over and took our deposit. We lucked out that Higher Ground was still available, and talk about a blessing in disguise: they were definitely the band we were meant to have for our wedding! Unlike our first experience with Traffic Jam, from the very beginning, working with Brian and Scott was easy. They were upfront, responsive, and fun!

And then at the wedding... they blew us and our guests away! Seriously, we had SO many people comment on how great the band was. Their range is unreal -- it's amazing how many covers they can do that sound just like the real artists. They learned several new songs which we requested in advance, which made our song list extra special for us. Higher Ground made our wedding what we wanted to be - a wedding where the guests were constantly partying on the dance floor. If you're looking for a top-notch wedding band, look no further.

All star band!

Bob Gail Music and Higher Ground were the absolute highlight of our wedding. I can't tell you how many people raved about them - their sound, their talent, their presentation, their energy!! These musicians are ALL STARS. I was worried that during a COVID wedding (we were 70 strong) no one would dance. 1st song after dinner every one was up and it didn't stop for 3 hours!! It was so fun and full of joy and happiness. And most of my guests were in the entertainment industry...so their had high expectations!

A Fabulous Experience

Wow. Discovering Bob Gail music was a fantastic find. When I first heard their music and watched their videos, I knew that this was the perfect band to refer to my couples. They never cease to amaze me. This past weekend we did a very safe social distanced wedding. The band all wore masks. They had plexi glass in front of them. Yet they brought themselves 100 percent to the wedding. It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guests were blown away. A simple intimate wedding and it was so safe. Whether you want this band for a small jazz duo or a big 11 piece band when we can be fully up and running again, don't hesitate to call Bob Gail!

5 stars for Bob Gail

We used Higher Ground for our wedding and it was once of the best decisions we've made. We saw Higher Ground perform at another wedding and loved their energy. Scott and Brian were incredibly communicative throughout the entire planning process and were always available to hop on a call and talk through our music choices or make recommendations. They sent over their set list and we marked the songs we wanted to hear/did not want to hear, and they made sure to both stick to our suggestions and play others that the crowd would like. On the day of the wedding, Scott was so warm and friendly, he felt like a friend. Our guests loved the band and the dance floor was packed all night. Thank you!

Best decision we made for our wedding!

What an amazing job Bob Gail entertainment did! We worked with the band Jump Start for our wedding in Santa Barbara and it was hands down a perfect experience. The entire experience from booking, coordinating to the actual band performance at the wedding was just top notch. I can’t tell you the amount of people that commented how good the band was and that dance floor was packed the entire night. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They kept the crowd going all night long.

Jump Start was fantastic!

Bob Gail's Jump Start was a fantastic band! So many of our guests felt the need to pull us aside and tell us how good they were. Singers phenomenal. Energy phenomenal. One guy's quote: "Your band was outstanding and their bass player was exceptional. He was taking these songs we've all heard a thousand times and just slapping new life into them. Thank you bob gail & jumpstart

It's been a few months since our wedding day, and we're still saying, "WOW."

Bob Gail Music & Entertainment truly helped make our wedding reception one that we, as well as our guests will ALWAYS remember.

My husband and I are big music fans, and having live music involved in our special day was vital to our celebration. Bob Gail's team of performers is top notch, professional, and extremely talented.

We chose to have a 3-piece instrumental set perform during our cocktail hour, which really set the tone for the evening and was the perfect soundtrack for the beginning of the night. We also chose band Jumpstart for our reception and they were AWESOME.

The entire team was so easy to work with and really made us feel comfortable. We were able to select songs we love (as well as songs that we don't love so much) and share our preferences with the band, which really made the evening's entertainment custom to us.

We will particularly always treasure our special dances, and are so grateful to Jumpstart for learning a few of our songs and making our set so custom and unique. The father/daughter dance to "Let's Go Fly A Kite" was certainly a crowd favorite! And we'll never forget our first dance as husband and wife to "City of Stars."

The Bob Gail team is exactly who you want planning your wedding. They are so experienced and so capable, you definitely want them on your team as you navigate the world of vendors and details and timelines. They are SO on top of every last detail and are so prepared that they take all the anxiety and worrying out of the process, so you can truly relax, let go and just enjoy the experience on your wedding day. In addition to being professional and efficient, they are also just a joy to be around and to work with. It was sad to say goodbye to them at the end of the process because we so enjoyed all of our time working with them!

We were all Higher Ground that night!

Our guests still rave about how amazing Higher Ground (Bob Gail Music & Entertainment) was the night of our wedding. I guess it doesn't hurt that they generously allowed two of my groomsmen to sing with them (confirmed the mic was off- PHEW) towards the end of the night. One of my only regrets was that I didn't have enough time to be on the dance floor and enjoy it myself.

From the moment our wedding planner introduced us to Brian and Scott, they were nothing but professional, easy-going, and flexible. They asked the right questions, understood what type of atmosphere we wanted for our reception, the music we loved and eased our fears about how to keep the audience energy up. They stayed in touch when they needed to but most importantly Higher Ground showed up on the big day.

I knew we made the right choice the moment I heard our entrance music (Kayne West - All of the Lights) at the reception. By far one of the best vendors we got to work with and would easily hire them again if/when the need arises. Thank you guys for making it the best night ever.

Jump Start literally made our wedding! Our #1 wedding priority was music since all we wanted was to have a raging dance party. We looked at a ton of different bands and honestly, no one compared to Jump Start. It is definitely a high price item but one that is worth every single penny. Every single guest was up on the dance floor from the very first song and they stayed there until the band was done. Our guests even starting chanting "one more song" when the band was done since they were so sad the party was over. We opted for the 10 person band and this was definitely the right option. The next morning, at our post wedding brunch, every guest commented on the band and said it was probably the best wedding band they've ever seen.

Also, big shout out to Brian Pincus & Scott Levine - they are THE BEST! They were the most wonderful to work with and were always responsive, kind, and on it. We were well taken care of from the second we booked all the way until the band finished.

Lastly, they let one of our dear friends perform a song and worked with him to make sure the song was a crowd pleaser and that everything sounded right. They didn't even blink an eye when I made this ask which made us very happy :)

We worked with Brian Pincus and Scott Levine at Bob Gail for our wedding in Colorado this past fall and had a fantastic experience with them throughout the entire process! The team at Bob Gail could not be more down-to-earth, kind, professional and accommodating. Music was a focal point of our wedding and we searched very extensively (and exhaustingly) for a band that could deliver the type of music and sound we were looking for (70's/80's pop, R&B) and travel to our wedding site out of state. Brian led us to Higher Ground, and along with Scott and the band leads, took the time to get to know us and our style and overdelivered on all of our requests throughout the planning process and day-of at the wedding. Higher Ground played a very critical role on our day and we couldn't be more thankful. It was a pleasure to work with them, you are in terrific hands with this passionate crew!

For this review I decided to just copy and paste an email my husband wrote about the band who played at our daughters wedding last weekend because it says everything a potential client would need to know. We met with Brian from Bob Gail Music and Entertainment initially. Higher Ground was the band we chose and Scott was the band leader. My husband was planning on singing a verse from "My Wish" at the end of his toast but was overcome with tears of joy, so he prearranged a little help from Scott in case that should occur. I intend on adding photographs onto this review once we receive them because a picture is worth 1000 words. Scott can read a crowd and see what they will enjoy dancing to. Higher Ground can sing and play any and everything. From our first encounter until we said good night, we couldn't have asked for more!

"Dear Brain and Scott,
Anytime anyone wants to know about Higher Ground give them my phone number. It will be my absolute pleasure to enlighten them.
As for you guys and all the members of the band----I asked for you to make a party for my daughter’s wedding. It was far better than any party I have seen. The words” thank you” just do not seem sufficient. I have had many phone calls and emails through the week and the recurring theme is a discussion of the band and how fabulous you guys were. My friend who has just recently thrown 2 huge weddings flat out said your band was the best he has ever seen at any wedding. The dance floor was crowded the entire evening which meant people were not just sitting around waiting for the time to leave. There were people on the dance floor when the last song was done.
Scott thank you for bailing me out at the end of my toast. I tried but just was not able to finish. I told Phoebe and Adam I was thinking of singing the last verse and all they did was laugh at me knowing how emotional I can get.
If we ever throw another party that needs a band you are the only guys we will call."

We used Bob Gail's band Higher Ground as our wedding reception band. We fell in love with them from their promo video which got me out of my seat dancing in my home, so we knew they would do a great job. Leading up to, and after the wedding, their team was incredibly responsive and truly had phenomenal customer service to make sure all of our questions and concerns were addressed. We mostly communicated with Giovanna via email. Prior to the wedding, they gave us a set list where we could highlight songs we liked, note 'must plays', and note 'do not play's to give them a sense of the vibe we want. We wanted to give the band direction but let them really read the crowd and decide what to play. The band definitely made our wedding night, they played a perfect selection of songs that truly kept the guests and us on the dance floor the entire night. The band includes such a great group of performers with different skills, that they can play so many different genres of music perfectly. After our wedding, our friends and family kept telling us how incredible the band was. We couldn't recommend working with Bob Gail and specifically Higher Ground more!

The highlight of our wedding was this band. Our dance floor was rarely, if ever, empty. Scott and his team were fantastic to work with, from the moment we first booked them. We often asked their advice on the playlist, the flow of the evening, and about a million other ideas we had. They always responded promptly and provided their professional input on how to make the evening even better, and we are so glad we listened to their advice. I'd book them again in an instant - just waiting for an excuse to. :)

I booked Higher Ground by Bob Gail for my wedding reception, and I could not say enough positive things about the band as well as Brian and Giovanna. The band is not only talented and charismatic, but it also does a great job reading the crowd. Scott, the band leader, is a great emcee. A few highlights/anecdotes if you'll indulge me:

-Even during the dinner portion of the evening, couples were dancing when they were supposed to be eating - one told us it was the first time they had danced in 30 years.
-A few weeks before the wedding I needed a steel drummer for the cocktail hour and Brian was able to secure one who was amazing and for a reasonable cost.
-Higher Ground is booked through a company that also does wedding planning - because of this, they are very skilled with the run of show, dealing with brides and sensitive matters, and overall running a great wedding.

I wish I could see them live again, so I will be referring them to everyone I know. Thank you Brian, Scott, Giovanna and the rest of the band for a fabulous evening!

We used Bob Gail Events (their band Jump Start) as well as their DJ for my 300+ person wedding in San Diego, and they was absolutely AMAZING! We had many wedding guests come up to us after to tell us how great the band was and how that was the best band they had ever seen. They were professional, great to work with, and kept the party going on all night. They have a wide variety of music and genres that they can play, and were able to read the crowd perfectly for music selection, and had such good energy the entire time. We were so sad to see them leave at midnight! We primarily worked with Brian in coordinating many of the details prior to the wedding, and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. I would 1000% recommend this band (and DJ Scott Levine) for a special event, and we hope to have the opportunity to work with them again at some future event!!!

Bob Gail Special Events band, Jump Start was absolutely one of the best parts of our wedding! When we were deciding between bands to use, we loved the range of talent and vocals that Jump Start showcased. We had a unique song we wanted arranged for our first dance which they were able to compose and played perfectly on the day. The band leader, Brian was so thoughtful, helpful, and easily accessible when we needed to reach him. We also had a pretty specific "Do Not" and "Please Play" song list which they not only followed but wowed us with every song they played. Our dance floor was full the entire wedding and everyone was dancing! We had the best time and have Bob Gail and Jump Start to thank for that!

We booked Higher Ground for our daughter's wedding. Brian was so easy to work with, helpful, patient with all our questions etc. Scott and his musicians were awesome. Everyone had the most awesome time at our event. The dance floor was full until the last song. I would definitely recommend them hands down. I also used them for the ceremony (keyboard and saxophone/flute). They are professional, lovely people. They are worth every penny!

We booked "Jump Start" for our wedding and we can not recommend enough! We worked with Brian Pincus, who was an absolutely delight from day one. We LOVED working with him. He's so professional, easy and just an all around great guy. As for the band, amazing! Truly one of the highlights from our wedding. Our guests all RAVED about the the band. The singers and musicians were top notch and the songs they played had our guests dancing all night. Truly, the dance floor was packed the entire night. We were married in Santa Barbara, but most guests were from NY/NJ (where my husband and I grew up) and they played so many great Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi songs that had our guests going wild. They of course were also able to play all the classic romantic songs like "At Last" and " Best Thing." I've had three guests already ask for the band's info so they can share with other friends for upcoming weddings. If that isn't the greatest confirmation of an incredible band I dont know what is!

I can not say enough about Katie Pincus and the Bob Gail staff. When I was searching for a wedding planner, I didn't realize just how important she would be because it's something that is behind the scenes. Now that I am married, I can honestly say that Katie made our wedding and was absolutely worth every penny, if not more.

Not only was she and her team insanely organized but she was patient, thoughtful, had great ideas, gave us many options, was great with my parents, knew her shit and is just all around an awesome person.

I would absolutely work with Bob Gail for the next event i plan.

Brian and the whole Jumpstart band were absolutely incredible! They made our party!! Everyone was on the dance floor the whole night, and when the lights came on at the end of the night, everyone was shouting, "One more song!" I Couldn't have asked for more from this incredible band. From their song selections, to their voices and musical talent, they sure do know how to get a party on their feet and stay there all night long!

I booked Jump Start through Bob Gail as my band at my wedding. Every phone call and conversation I've had with my guests recapping the evening has included a rave review about our band. Their song choices perfectly fit the energy of the room and all age groups were able to dance and sing along. They were able to cover such a wide variety of song choices and there seemed to be a singer in the band for every type of genre (even country). There is something about the energy a band brings versus a DJ that just really gets a crowd going and eager to dance

Brian was so wonderful to work with. He was patient, engaged and invested in the night. It made a huge difference having him there keeping our timeline on track and changing things as needed based on the mood of the room. Additionally, he acted like a therapist and a band leader, helping me personally navigate through the chaos of the day.
The whole process of working with Bob Gail was seamless. They sent my husband and I a long list of songs to choose from before our wedding and even learned a couple of songs that we requested that were not part of their set list.

Jump Start was one of the more expensive ticket items in our wedding, but worth every penny!

I cannot thank Allyson Levine and Bob Gail Rentals enough for the beautiful wedding they created for us. I work in the industry so I'm familiar with rental companies and how quickly it can add up for a few couches and chairs. However, after meeting with Allyson I knew that Bob Gail would be able to give us the design concept we wanted with the budget we wanted. Allyson's eye for design was incredible! From the linens to the furniture her touches really made our wedding spectacular. Plus she was super flexible when things started adding up and she would always send me updated budgets and revised quotes whenever I asked. She would always have a couple different priced options that I could choose from and was never pushy on the upsale, if I said I couldn't afford something then she would try and find a way to create the same look for less. And her team was wonderful with the set up and tear down. All in all Bob Gail really made our wedding what it was, and what is was was impressive from all the compliments we received at the reception. I would absolutely use Bob Gail for any future party planning needs!

My experience with Bob Gail was so absolutely fantastic that it was one of the saddest parts about closing the book on our wedding. I walked in and met Allyson and Brian over a year ago after countless meetings with other planners. I knew within the first 5 minutes of meeting them why people say "save the best for last". They got it! Every last detail of what we wanted. Matt and I didn't just want some beautiful linens and pretty flowers on some tables. We came in asking for replicas of "Candy Land", a lot of glam, and ultimately we wanted the party of the year. Our wedding was Oct 18th, 2013 and when I tell you that they nailed it on the head, that statement doesn't even do it justice. I worked with Allyson the most, who truly became like a sister and a forever friend throughout this process. She was there no matter what and worked out every last detail with her heart in all of it. My favorite part of working with them was that you got a chance to work with everyone. Katie, Kay, Linley, Katherine (who is the best event designer on planet earth), and every other employee at Bob Gail stepped up at one point or another and made everything go right. They worked with us through and through and gave us the chance to enjoy a planning process that can ultimately be very stressful. I believe they are the best in the biz and a true family that became part of our own. We love these guys and will always remember what they did for us and forever be grateful!!

I cannot be happier with my experince with Bob Gail!!!! We used Bob Gail for flowers, lighting and the fabulous Jump Start Band!!!! First, the band was incredible and we received so many complments from our guests. Everyone was up and dancing! They also did the ceremony music and cocktail hour piano. Such talent and professionalism! The flowers were perfect for the venue and Bob Gail worked hard to bring the look we wanted within our budget. The lighting made such a difference!! Made a very beautiful venue a stunning visual. Every meeting we had at BobGail(with Katie) was upbeat and and fun. Highly recommend!!!!!

Allyson Levine, Katie Pincus and the Bob Gail team were exceptional in planning, coordinating and executing the wedding of our dreams. We used Bob Gail for event coordination, the band (Jump Start), ceremony music, florals, lighting and decor and event rentals. Our wedding was seemless and everything was planned beautifully to the last detail. The Bob Gail band, "Jump Start" was amazing and had our party going until 1 am. The florals and decor were breathtaking. When my now husband and I first saw our cerermony and reception spaces, we felt like we had walked into a magazine style shoot. Everything was perfectly done and nothing was over the top. Because our ceremony and reception were executed perfectly by Allyson and Katie, our guests truly were able to enjoy every moment of the evening and my husband and I were able to relax and enjoy this amazing moment in our lives with our family and friends. All of our wedding guests raved about every detail. Allyson and Katie are two of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting and their grace, poise and exquisite style truly show through in their event design and coordination. I couldn't reccommend these two ladies, Jump Start, the Bob Gail florists, and entire team enough!

My daughter got married Feb. of this year and Bob Gail events was
our coordinator. They were amazing from the beginning till to the end,
gorgeous flowers, great music, beautiful decor and lighting and on top

Jamie (my husband) and I had the wedding of our dreams and that was solely because of the Ally Levine and Bob Gail Events.

We gave Ally a color palette, told her we wanted skee-ball, and a fun wedding and the rest was all Ally and her team.
We really only had a few things that we said we didn't want and put all the pressure on Ally and her team to deliver based on that.

They truly exceeded our wildest imagination and that was the point…hire the best and let them do their best!

I think an important thing to note is part of the reason that the photos look so amazing was all the details that Ally and her team included, without them it would not have been the same photos.

Bob Gail Events is FANTASTIC! I was living overseas in another country and researched numerous event designers and really liked the look and feel of Bob Gail! Once I reached out, I worked with the same person in the whole 9 months of planning my wedding (Brian Pincus) and he was OUTSTANDING! His service was impeccable and it was so obvious that he truly did care about my wedding. Brian assisted us with a dance floor and flowers for our very special day! We had a budget (like every couple) and there was never a moment where we felt uncomfortable! Brian and his team exceeded every expectation and exceeded our desires! Bob Gail Events stays on top of every detail and calls to confirm and go over every detail. The staff is a joy to work with. Bob Gail is amazing! We initially met with them to discuss the music for our wedding, but fell in love with Allyson and Brian and decided use the Bob Gail team for coordination and rentals, as well. The entire wedding planning process was so fun and stress free because of Allyson, Brian, and their team. They put so much care and time into our wedding, and it felt as though they were planning a wedding for a family member. They wedding day was amazing and we didn't have to worry about anything other than what we were there for - to get married! Bob Gail took care of everything. Also, their band is amazing! My husband and I got married a couple of months ago and worked with Allyson at Bob Gail for the flowers, lighting, linens and other decor at the wedding as well as the candy station. I cannot recommend them enough! Allyson is profession, responsive, really knows the business, and went out of her way to accommodate all of our request to make sure that everything was exactly the way we wanted it. Also, she was an absolute pleasure to work with and has impeccable taste.

We didn't use Allyson as our coordinator but after working with her, I would highly recommend her for that position. She is so organized, and she made stressful times much more manageable by always being on top of things.

Everything at our wedding looked amazing and it was largely because of Allyson and her team.

Allyson and the Bob Gail team truly made our big day a spectacular one! What was so fantastic about working with them was the fact that I had the option to use other vendors or work "in-house" with Bob Gail, which is what I chose to do based on all of the fantastic photos and reviews I had seen/heard. Talk about a smart choice, as this made it super easy as I only had one contact to deal with everything! This is a huge win for any bride who has a demanding career and doesn't have the time to do everything herself.
After our first design meeting I knew that my big day was going to be exactly as I'd always imagined it. The team truly understood what we were looking to do and was able to execute it flawlessly - while staying within my budget.

Bob Gail Rocks! My husband and I had the extraordinary pleasure of working with Allyson who did an amazing job planning our 11/11/11 wedding! The flowers were stunning, I haven never seen roses look and smell that good. The decor was beautiful, even the last minute planning we had to do because of the rain, bringing the whole outdoor event into the ballroom at the Fairmont Hotel. Leading up to the event, Allyson and her team made sure that everything was handled and took all the pressure off my hands. The day of my wedding Allyson was right on point, never leaving my side. She had everything covered and kept my nerves so calm. I love Bob Gail and would highly recommend them for any event and will definitely use them for all future events as well.

The entire Bob Gail team was fantastic! The wedding coordinators led by Allyson were amazing and so attentionate to all details. They made our day so special and stress-free!
The flowers were beautiful and exactly as we had envisionned them, the music was great and our guests complimented us on it, Eric was very accomodating to our guests requests as well (even downloaded from youtube songs from France!).

Use Bob Gail for as many aspects of your party or wedding as you can. Every
element of our wedding was seamless and the level of service is unparalleled in
this industry. We had our wedding at the Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey and used
Bob Gail for almost everything in our wedding - flowers, band (Jump Start),
chairs and linens, lighting, candy buffet and day of coordination. We also used the vendors they recommended - Jennifer Roper for photography and William Ernest Brown for invitations. Our friends and family are raving about the wedding and saying it was the best and most fun wedding they've attended. The entire thing went off without a single hitch. We weren't sure of the details, but we wanted to throw a fun party and we achieved that using Bob Gail. The band was amazing and everyone loved them. We danced all night and ended up extending the band play time. We were skeptical about using a band but relied heavily on references that Bob Gail provided. We spoke with numerous brides that had used Jump Start and they were equally as thrilled as we were. We wanted an intimate and elegant setting that was not over the top. We didn't want to over spend on a bunch of "showy" elements, but we didn't want to look like we cut corners. The room reflected that. The team at Bob Gail is impressive. My husband and I are laid back but we expected perfection for our money, which is what the team delivered. We basically showed up to the rehearsal on Friday night, at which point they took over and ran everything until 1 am Sunday morning. We thought about nothing but having fun with friends and family. Each member of the team understood our personalities and gave us what we needed. My husband and I are both in professional services and we can't imagine a higher level of service than this team provided. The business model of offering most wedding elements under one house works very well for a wedding because it reduces the stress of worrying about multiple vendors. There's just no reason to look elsewhere or use a coordinator who will pull together a bunch of separate vendors.

I cannot imagine having planned our wedding with the assistance of anyone other than Bob Gail Special Events. Every single aspect of our wedding turned out even better and more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Living out of state and planning a wedding in California seemed like a daunting task, but with the Bob Gail team everything was almost effortless. We were even able to schedule our table arrangement / flower run through on the Monday of Labor Day weekend to accommodate when we would be in town. Having an in-house team that provided everything from flowers, linens, lighting to musicians made the planning process a dream. I even found myself asking, "what should I be doing?" in the months leading up to our big day because everything was so well organized and planned, that I didn't feel I had enough to do! As a result, my husband and I were truly able to enjoy our engagement. I would, without any hesitation, recommend Bob Gail to anyone planning an event, wedding or otherwise. They were a joy to work with and truly are a first rate team!

Bob Gail Special Events is amazing!! This review is for Jump Start the band and for Brian Pincus who helped us make our dream wedding possible. I had seen Jump Start play at my cousins wedding 8 years ago and remember saying to myself..this is the band I want for my wedding! Now all this time had passed and yet my wish was still able to come true. Brian made sure we had the singers we wanted and helped us figure out how many people we wanted in the band and what we could afford. ( We ended up getting a 7 piece band with 2 singers and then Brian came as the 8th member!) He even worked with us on price which helped us a lot. Even though we went above our budget in the end I can't tell you how much I feel like this band was worth it. Brian was patient and kind and talked to many members in my family to assure them that everything would be taken care of and turn out great. They even learned two songs for us not on their play list and did them each perfectly!! Brian ended up coming to the wedding as our band leader and mc and made the night up beat, fun, and so memorable. It was nice to feel like the person at the head of the night really knew what we wanted and took the time to know us as a couple. Since the wedding, our guests cannot stop raving about the band and how much fun they made the night. Our wedding was on a Sunday and went til midnight ( I was so worried people would leave early ) but instead the dance floor was packed until the last song and guest were screaming for one more!! My best friend (who loves pop and rap music) said she never wants to go to a party with a dj again..she loved the band. I highly recommend this band and this company ( at least for music) and you won't regret using them. Make sure to ask for Brian Pincus!!

Working with Bob Gail Events was great and I would recommend them to anyone. They're very professional yet friendly, accommodating, and flexible.

Since we both work somewhat demanding hours, the best thing about Bob Gail was they would meet us after standard working hours. I was continually frustrated by how many wedding vendors would not do this. That was priceless for us. It was also really great that they can be one-stop-shopping for a lot of the details that 2 busy working people can't spend a ton of time researching.

Katie was our coordinator and she was fantastic. She had a ton of experience with our venue, which was very helpful. All of the additional services we used we're amazing, perfect, and beautiful: ceremony musicians, chairs, lighting. But the flowers were the best part. Our colors and style were not standard and they did a great job on the flowers.

Oh my goodness! The people who helped us at Bob Gail Events were so great - thank you, Brian and Katie! They were very responsive and very creative. I had some budget issues and could not do exactly what I wanted, and they worked with me back and forth to create the same feel from what I could afford. They were always encouraging and unstressed. I was so blessed by that because so many things seemed to change at the last minute - guest count, table count and size, flower placement, etc... Up until it was actually the time, they were adapting the final picture with pleasure! I would have been so sick of me! In the end, the place was amazing. The flowers were better than anticipated, and the clean-up was spotless. I wish I could have taken it all home with me!!! If you have any questions about how to do anything, ask... And if you have a need for any service and you cannot find it, ask... We ended up using Bob Gail for so much more than just flowers or chairs. They were a great design team and can do it all!

Brought the heat to our dance floor

Our ceremony had a string quartete and they also set up all of the sound system which was incredible, especially forour sister in law who was playing acoustic guitar. They were professional with the sound checks and the space with the strings was beautiful and gave all of our guests chills. The music set the stage and they were able to play all of our requests with pop on the strings. They are incredible performers.

For the reception we hired "Jump Start", a live 10 person band who were out of this world! From our first interview through Zoom to discuss our vibe for the night, to the sound system provided, to their Emcee announcing us and the choices of what was played during our reception was perfection.
The energy of the singers and the band brought the dance floor to life and no one wanted to leave the dance floor all night, which was exactly what we were looking for. Everyone was approachable, read the room, engaged with the guests and made us feel so special. They were great about cutting down our father daughter and son and mother songs just to the right amount and helped make sure the evening ran smoothly.

We used Bob Gail for three things: the band, the flowers, and the lighting. We got the most compliments from our guests on three things: the band, the flowers, and the photos. While we had a great photographer, I think the lighting made all the difference for our indoor photos, as our venue was very dark and moody. Every indoor photo has beautiful light and ambience. Months later, we are still receiving compliments on the amazing band and a friend recently said she is having the hardest time picking her wedding band because she keeps comparing them to OUR wedding band. I referred her to BG, of course. Brian and Katie are warm, friendly, and an absolute pleasure to work with. My mom fell in love with them about 5 minutes into first meeting them. She said to me later, "You just want to do whatever they suggest because you trust them and know it will be perfect." Kathryn, the florist, NAILED my floral dreams, despite my highly inarticulate description of what I wanted, as I know very little about flowers. During the stressful time of planning my wedding I actually looked forward to meeting with Brian and Katie at BG and left feeling excited. On wedding day, I didn't even have to think about my BG vendors because I felt so confident everything would be executed perfectly, which it was!

The Bob Gail team made my wedding reception beautiful. What started as a basic clear tent on the beach turned into a classy party space with chandeliers, hedges, stunning florals and gorgeous lighting, all thanks to Bob Gail. They also pulled in little details I hadn't thought about like matching linens and coordinating candles. The cost of the decor was more than I initially expected to spend, but it was all worth it. Katie, Allyson and Michelle were all a pleasure to work with and they made the planning process enjoyable!

We booked them 5 months before for their ceremony music and band for reception. They ask for your music style and play you some demos and make suggestions. Then based on your budget you either add or subtract to their suggestion. It was one of our quickest and most pleasant vendor meeting. Ceremony music was provided by flute and keyboard, which was unique to us...affordable, but nice sounding for classical music. As for the band, they were very in touch with the crowd, even though we did not give them a specific list of songs...and they kept the mood up. Very professional and adaptively spontaneous. Very refreshing. If you do not know anything about your music, but you know what you don't want, Bob Gail is the place to go. Also, we got our day of coordinator through Bob Gail. We got Carol. She was the nicest planner ever. Also, she made sure that everything went ok and never forgot about the bride.

Excellent band... I believe we got the "Players" (they have many bands under their organization). They give you a giant list of songs within many different genres and you can pick which songs you want (and also DON'T want). I was very picky about what styles of music I wanted and they were perfect. You can have as many as 11 people in a band but we kept it to 5 people, and that was more than enough from what I can remember (and we had about 250 at our reception).

They also played acoustic guitar during our cocktail hour, and although I wasn't there to hear it other people told me they were great.

If you want to do more than just a DJ, they may be a little pricey for some but I felt like we got our money's worth.

I have really hesitated to write this review because the last thing you want to do is think negatively about your wedding and the fact that I personally like Allyson Levine (Ally) from Bob Gail Special Events but when it comes down to it, I wanted people to know what happened so that maybe this will not happen to you.

Let me start off by saying that Allyson did do some things well. The timing went well during the wedding reception and due to the size of our wedding and the fact that Santa Monica beach only allows a limited number w/o a permit and the wedding ceremony wasn't shut down, I attribute that (at least in part) to Allyson.

However, Allyson made such crucial errors during the ceremony that even after almost 6 months, I have not been able to let it go. Although we often talked about it prior to the wedding and although we ran through it at the rehearsal, she forgot to place roses on the table for the Rose Ceremony and forgot to give my sponsors their items so that they could be a part of the wedding. Allyson can't be entirely to blame as she had two of her staff working under her that day but she's the person that I hired and contracted to spend multiple thousands for her services. For the Rose Ceremony, there were no roses were placed on the table. While the guests may not have known the difference, this was really important to us as we wanted to show our appreciation to our mothers. The sponsors in a Filipino wedding are a position of honor, and we had 8, which all had a special purpose and part in our wedding. Because they did not have the items in their hands, they could not come up and present us with them during the ceremony. A family member passed away a couple of years ago and a sibling was supposed to present us with the candle during the ceremony in remembrance, but that never happened because the candle was never given to them and it was simply placed upon the wedding table.

I rented tables clothes, Chivary chairs with custions and a coffee table that lights up from Bob Gail. I chose to use them (aginst my coordinators advise) becuase thay had a shade of baby blue table cloth that I could not find elsewhere.

It took some time to finnally book them becuase there were many phone calls involved hagaling over price as their prices were much higher then other rental companies I was working with. I always had to leave a message and quite often did not get return calls. They place you with an agent at their facility and no one else will help you if that person is not available. Took about 3-6 months to agree to terms.

Along the line of pricing, this company charges a rather hefty delivery fee and requires a deposit. The other rental company I used did not charge either. My total bill was $2052.69. Alittle high for the amount I was renting. On top of that I had to pay an additional $600 for trucking, delivery and set-up/break-down. Plus a security deposit of $2000.00!!! Grand total of $4652.69!!! Compaired to the other rental company I used I can assure you, Bob Gail is over priced!!

Everything was delivered and picked up with out hassel.

However, 4 weeks later when I finnally received my security deposit back, they had only refunded $1300.00 of it. They claimed that 4 table linenes were damaged. $700.00 FOR 4 LINENES?!?!? Eventually after speaking with the owner (who was not very nice and kept talking over me as if his side of the story is all that matters) got them to refund another $400.

All in all I would not recommend this compay. They are way over priced and there are just too many rental companies that do not charge delivery fees or security deposits.
