Tom with Block Rockin Beats was AMAZING!! I would recommend him to anyone getting married who is in need of a DJ! He was quick to respond to all of my questions, and really listened and knew what kind of music we were going for at the reception! He was also very resonably priced compared to all of the other DJ companies out there! Thank you so much Tom, you made our night one to remember!!

He was extremely professional. He knew his business very well. He never pushed us into anything, just let us plan our ceremony and was very helpful! Kept the crowd into the wedding, there was never a dull moment! He was so nice to work with, we would never use anyone else!

Tom did a great job from precoordination to ceremony music to the reception. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end and he was always very responsive. In addition to being a great DJ, Tom made sure that throughout the night we were taken care of and had everything we needed from dancing to drinks etc. The dance floor was never empty and at any sign of slowing down he changed the music up to keep people out there. We will definitely recommend him in the future.

Tom was wonderful! Everyone had such a great time at the wedding! The dance floor was packed all night! Tom was a perfect blend of fun and professionalism! He was very easy going and has a wonderful sense of what music people want to dance to! Could not have picked a better match for our wedding!

Tom from Block Rockin' Beats was a great DJ for our wedding at Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park. Tom was very familiar with the setup of the site unlike some DJs from large companies who we interviewed prior to meeting Tom. Once we met with Tom we knew he was the right DJ for our big day and we signed a contract to have him be our DJ. Tom provided ceremony music for our outdoor wedding, music for our cocktail hour, and music for our reception. Tom played a great mix of music that kept the dance floor full the entire time, The energy of music was so good that we even had one guest doing the splits on the dance floor. We had several guests comment on what a great job Tom did. Tom's DJ services were excellent which helped to make for a great, memorable day.

Tom from Block Rockin' Beats was our awesome DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception. From the time we first contacted him, we knew he was the right DJ for us. It was a personalized experience from the beginning; he didn't treat us as just another bride and groom. He wanted to meet us in person, but because we were in Indianapolis, we talked over the phone.
Tom took the time to learn about our wedding style and our music preferences. Since we are in the wedding business and get tired of the same reception songs, he agreed to let us make our reception playlist. We did get to meet up in St. Louis the week of our wedding to finalize the details. He had everything printed out that I had sent him (songs, schedule, etc) and just double checked that we were on the same page.
For a small travel fee, he drove 2 hours to our wedding venue - the middle of no where - and set up two different sound systems for our ceremony and reception. Even though it rained that day, he remained flexible and we were still able to have our ceremony outside. I know he did a lot of setting up and tearing down of his equipment that day, all while keeping a positive attitude. He worked well with the other vendors and impressed us every step of the way. During the reception, he followed the schedule we agreed upon, yet remained flexible as things never go exactly as you plan. He remained professional at all times and kept the tone/theme of our reception as we envisioned. Tom was NOT cheesy, just as he told us from the beginning.
Moral of the story? HIRE HIM! His prices are completely fair for the quality you get in return. Music was an important part of our wedding, and without him, our day wouldn't have been the same. Thank you Tom!!

Tom was a fantastic DJ. He handled all of our requests and helped guide us through some choices we were unsure of. With all the vendors and choices that need to be made while planning a wedding, this was an easy one. His presence at the wedding was perfect, not at all overpowering, but kept the flow of the night moving smoothly and the dance floor packed. This is an easy recommendation for our friends or family getting married soon.

Selecting Block Rockin' Beats as the provider of our wedding reception soundtrack was one of the best choices we made. Tom Rotter is not only great at his craft, but is also a pleasure to work with. He is friendly, honest, flexible and fun. I think many couples often underestimate the importance of a DJ's responsibilities in the reception as a whole. Yes the DJ's number one priority is music, but they are also an integral part to the overall flow of the evening. Tom was crucial when it came to leading the progression of the reception; time management, introductions, speeches, coordination between vendors, and much more.

Most important to us was having a party-like atmosphere with an active dance floor. To say the dance floor at our wedding was epic would be an understatement. People were dancing from the first minute until the last. The music was perfect. The reception was awesome. And we owe so much of that to Block Rockin' Beats.

Tom and Block Rockin' Beats was recommended to me by another local DJ, so I gave him a call--I am so glad I did. Tom was very responsive and super easy to work with. I felt very comfortable and confident about choosing Block Rockin' Beats for our wedding, especially after the first meeting my now-husband and I had with Tom. We discussed our weddings and our lives/personalities/interests so that Tom could get a feel for us as a couple, and the three of us sat talking for a long time. I really appreciated that; I never felt like I was "just a number", or that it was all business (like I did after meeting with another, very corporate, big DJ service). Tom kept in touch w/ me throughout the planning process, and he was extremely accommodating to our random song requests. Which is a good thing, as we had several. :)

On the day of the wedding, he kept everything organized, which is a big help seeing as how you are being pulled in 800 different directions on your wedding day. It was very comforting to know that someone had everything under control--he was always around and was never "missing", as I have heard other DJs tend to do.

My favorite thing about my experience w/ Block Rockin' Beats was the fact that during our dinner, Tom pulled out some slightly more obscure songs by some of the artists that my now-husband and I had mentioned liking. I got really excited about that, and we had guests come to us and tell us how awesome it was to hear _____ song at our reception. It really made me feel like Tom puts a lot of thought/caring into the whole affair. It made the night that much more special.

Tom with Block Rockin' Beats was more than we ever could have imagined! As musicians ourselves, music was the most important aspect of our reception. We were looking for a great DJ that would keep everyone dancing all night and would be able to cater to people ages 2-93. Tom was the perfect fit! He asked the right questions to get to know who we are and what we wanted, had a lot of organized templates and resources, and in addition to many phone conferences, met with us in person twice to ensure everything would run smoothly.

Tom went above his responsibilities as our DJ and made sure that we were comfortable upon our arrival at the reception hall and even got our drinks from the bar. He helped personalize the reception by allowing us to borrow microphones and sing a song for our guests. He followed all of our "please play" and "do not play" requests perfectly. The way he ordered the songs kept people on the dance floor and everyone enjoyed the music--no matter if they grew up in the '90s or the '60. Our dance floor was packed the whole night!

Though we were already impressed by Tom's business ethic and DJ-ing ability, I was floored by his follow-up. He didn't just end the job when our reception ended; he made sure to e-mail us in the days following to make sure we were satisfied. No other vendor we hired did this.

We got a lot of great feed-back from our family and friends saying how much they enjoyed our wedding reception and we know this is largely due to Tom.

Tom Rotter provided the most excellent service!! We would highly reccomend him to other couples! He made himself readily available to make song changes, song requests, and to answer any questions we had at all hours of the day! We could even call him when we heard a song on we liked and he would find it!!

The day of the wedding he kept our reception moving and maintained a natural flow! He adapted to any changes we wanted the day of our event! What more could you ask for???
