Additional Questions and Answers
Why should I hire a wedding consultant?
Planning a wedding consumes so much time and energy - having a consultant will help keep you organized and calm, ensuring you enjoy the whole wedding process. The joy of your engagement can quickly dwindle when you become overwhelmed with all the decisions planning a wedding entails. Whether you work long hours, are planning an out-town-wedding, or just lead a busy lifestyle, a wedding consultant is the service you need to help save you both time and money, create the wedding of your dreams, and, best of all, give you the freedom to relax and celebrate your special day!
What does studio G occasions actually do?
Until recently, a wedding coordinator was considered a luxury only accessible to the rich and famous. Today, the coordinator is synonymous with well-planned events. The average wedding can take more than two hundred and fifty hours just to plan. You want your wedding to uniquely reflect you and your fiancé. You definitely don’t want someone else telling you what colors to choose or invitations to order. With today’s hectic lifestyles, you may not have time to compare all the options, make sure you get the best deals, and see to it that all the details are in place. A professional wedding consultant helps you make informed decisions, but above all, the final decision is yours. We act as your design consultant, food and beverage manager, purchasing agent, "Miss Manners," coordinator and confidante. Our training, knowledge, and experience will turn your dreams and expectations into reality. We want you to host a glorious and distinctive event, which you can enjoy.
How would I benefit?
From the moment you answer with a breathless, “yes,” to the moment you whisper, "I do," you and your fiancé will be busy. Simply because you are engaged does not mean your normal life will stop. Balancing the everyday along with planning your wedding is difficult. Getting married is a joyous and eventful time in anyone’s life. However, the stress of planning such an event can be taxing on the bride and those around her. With a wedding planner at your side, the stages of your engagement will be more enjoyable and less stressful. Hiring a wedding planner allows you to have time to enjoy your engagement, time with your family and fiancé. How? As the saying goes, “Time is Money.” While you continue working to earn your paycheck, your wedding consultant is doing the legwork for you. Saving your time by selecting the right vendors and services for your event often saves you enough money to cover the cost for your wedding coordinator’s services. Coordinators can take advantage of sources that are available to "trade only" professionals. Thus, a wedding coordinator’s hands-on experience can prevent you from making costly mistakes and transform your wedding vision into a reality.
Why hire studio G occasions?
Unlike other event planners, studio G occasionsspecializes in independent, detailed weddings and event planning. We do not plan corporate events, therefore all of our efforts are focused on creating gorgeous weddings, adoption celebrations filled with cherished memories, special birthday or anniversary parties. Even if your reception location or church already has a coordinator on staff, we can be of crucial importance. Church coordinators are very good at lining up the bridal party for the processional and the reception site coordinators will make sure the food is being served promptly, but these people only oversee the site logistics. They do not take care of the little things or anticipate emergency situations. Who will remind the best man to bring the rings? Who will make sure all of the groomsmen have their boutonnieres before the pictures? Who will know where to call if the limo is late? What will you do if the zipper rips out of your dress? Who will notice that you wanted organza ribbons on the pews, not silk? On-site coordinators are often not prepared or willing to take care of these kinds of problems. As your personal assistant, your studio G’s wedding staff is experienced in seeing the big picture and smoothly bringing together all of these components. We will be there to see to every detail so you can remember your beautiful wedding, instead of later regretting that it was all just a blur and you didn’t get to visit with your guests.
Whether we are asked to handle every detail for your event or support your plans in a partial capacity we will work in concert and unity for the satisfaction of our clients.
Tips and Advice
Managing Wedding Stress
A wedding can be simply overwhelming due to the number of little details involved. That in and of it self would be enough, but factor in the dynamics of the brides family and the new in-laws, and you've definitely got a recipe for stress! What is a bride to do?
Obviously, planning a social occasion as involved as a wedding is fraught withmany stressors. As a wedding planning professional, I offer you this advice: follow your heart. After all, it has gotten you to where you are today. Before the parents of the bride or other financially responsible parties start rolling your eyes, please let me clarify. If the bride wanted bowers of fresh flowers, but someone says, "oh, that's too expensive," so she settles for something else, only to find out later that she could have easily found an affordable way do fulfill her vision. She'll have spent the planning period fretting over what she thought she couldn’t afford and forever look at her wedding pictures with regret.
Here are ten more great tips for eliminating wedding stress:
1. Delegate - nicely! Obviously a wedding planner would tell you this – but its true! The most common mistake a bride can make while planning her wedding is attempting to do everything herself. A wedding is a complex endeavor, and even the most organized bride simply cannot be everywhere and do everything, particularly on her wedding day. No one wants bridezilla barking orders at them, but when your entire wedding party is at the front of the church and your family is all seated in the front of the church, who will arrange your train for the processional down the aisle? No one if you don’t delegate! The custom of bridesmaids and groomsmen no doubt was born of this issue. There are hundreds, if not thousands of details involved in a wedding, and your family, wedding attendants, and wedding professionals are there to help, so don’t hesitate to politely ask them!. Or better yet, have your wedding planner do so!
2. Communicate. If you must have Vendela roses, not just white, don’t assume your florist knows it. Likewise, don’t assume that you will go table to table to greet your guests when your mother is dead set on a formal receiving line. Be prepared with a thoughtful rationale for your plans as you review them with your families and be open to their ideas. In dealing with his family and yours you cannot assume that everyone has the same priorities and ideas as you. Put pen to paper! Write down your ideas, wishes, dreams, and priorities, and make sure everyone is on the same page If his family has done the tarantella for hundreds of years, it really won’t kill you to go ahead and do it!
3. Plan ahead. You not only eliminate stress factors, but you’ll also be able to save time and money if you’re not desperately filling in details at the last minute.
4. Spend time with your fiancé. He may not care much about the details of the wedding, but he loves you! Make a date to NOT talk about the big day!
5. Keep things in perspective - the wedding is a day or two, a marriage is forever!
6. Take care of yourself - a tired, unhealthy bride is a stressed bride. I know of several health and beauty professionals in the area who specialize in brides.
7.Prioritize - this not only helps with planning, but also with budgeting. Why spend a ton on a string quartet when you don't like classical music, when you can have a fabulous meal for you and all you foodie friends instead! Make a list of what is important and plan with that in mind.
8. Stay within a realistic budget. Sorry to say it, but we all know weddings can be quite expensive. If you really feel the need to invite 400 people to your wedding, a cake and punch reception is perfectly proper. On the other hand, if you must do the sit down dinner with the orchestra and cocktail hour, it is absolutely proper to have a smaller number of guests. You can always have an open house later for the masses, or invite them in smaller groups to brunch or dinner at your new home!
9. Be creative - you'd be amazed at the beautiful details that can be added, even on the tightest of budgets with a little creativity. (It doesn’t hurt to throw in a little flexibility, either!)
10. Find a great team of wedding professionals and use them! They have great insight and lots of experience as to what really goes on and what generally works best. Don’t be afraid to ask them to find creative ways to accomplish what you’d like.
