About

The first, of many Spanish restaurants in Newark (Ironbound), New Jersey, opened in 1963 by our grandparents, Antonio (Jalisco) & Estrella Martinez. They dreamed of bringing an excellent Spanish cuisine to the area. It was difficult introducing this new cuisine, but little did they know the effect it would have on dining in New Jersey.

The idea was simple...give the finest traditional Spanish food at a reasonable price with warm, friendly and efficient service. Our grandparents made you feel when entering their restaurant, like you were entering their home. You may have entered as a customer, but you left as a friend.

As the second and third generation continue the family tradition, we want to maintain the same ideas which were taught us through our grandparents. We not only welcome you as customers to our restaurant, we welcome you as friends & family into our home. Sit back, relax and enjoy some friendly service while your mouth watering meals are being prepared by some of the same chef's who have been with my family for years.

Your hosts,

Balbina (mom),

Jerry & Michael Fernandez

We had our rehearsal dinner here. It was absolutely perfect. The food is phenomenal.
