Chef Bick, Frank, and the whole STF team were such a joy to have part of our wedding day. The entire process of working with STF from the initial phone call to last hug at the end of the night was phenomenal- you know you are in excellent hands from the get go, Chef Bick is unflappable-he's such a calming presence to have by you amidst the chaos of your wedding day. The whole team absolutely pampered us while seamlessly handling multiple hiccups throughout the evening with ease and grace. Chef Bick's food is STUNNING and the flavors are unbelievable, people are still gushing about the food two weeks later, and many can't believe how many times they went back for helpings of carrots of all things! Those carrots were insane. We can't possibly imagine a better experience, thank you Michael and thanks to the whole team for hitting it out of the park, you guys made the day so easy, fun, stress free, and incredibly delicious,

The Whole Package

We highly recommend MIchael Bick of ‘Some Things Fishy” to cater any event. He is super experienced, talented, patient and kind (which is a must in wedding situations!)
He is a true help from the very beginning of event planning, suggesting menu items that fit your vision and meets the needs of all guests. The food is creative, beautifully presented and most of all uniquely delicious! He even injects a little fun…..Cappucino brownie milkshakes….edible spoons!!!
We most recently used him for a 50 person wedding on a cow farm! He effortlessly provides top notch appetizers and a full course meal from a few work tables and an oven under pop up tents (he brings)! The family style meal was both elegant and comforting.The service was flawless, kind and friendly. The complements from guests were outstanding, many saying they felt they were in a 5 star NYC restaurant, not the middle of a farm! (Though the cows peeking into the tent from the next field gave it away!!!)
His years of experience is also a great value in creating a seamless event just about anywhere. He and his staff are helpful in every way necessary…..quietly moving chairs from ceremony to under the tent, moving cocktail tables under the tent during a rain shower and back out again, moving flowers from ceremony to under the tent etc. His flexible nature is the best and you always feel things are under control and in good hands.
As an aside we have also used Michael for 2 other buffet style events (30-50 people).We chose creative sliders and side salads…all delicious and flawless! Thank you Michael and all!!!

Michael is an exceptional chef and person. Throughout our wedding experience with him, we were able to tap into his wealth of knowledge for our catering and overall wedding planning . He worked with us to curate a menu of some of our favorite foods and his specialties - essentially though he can do whatever you want! We even had affogato station for dessert which I thought would be a logistical nightmare for a backyard wedding but Michael executed with ease! I’m vegetarian and my husband is not. We had a mix of guests and Michael was carful to accommodate everyone, including our friend with a severe pepper allergy.

We decided on both passed and stationary h’ordures plus family style dinner and it was beautiful and delicious. We also used Michael’s team for our bartending and they were great! We had no crazy lines for dinks. Would recommend Michael for his for chef skills of course, but also just his general vibe and ease of working with.

All around, we had a great experience with Mike and Some Things Fishy Catering for my daughter’s wedding party. Mike was helpful with both the menu and the vision for the party, which we organized ourselves with his input. We had hoped and planned for a beach party and when the weather report said rain, Mike helped us adjust the plans. He and his crew arrived early and the food was beautiful. The crew were helpful with refreshing the buffet, serving drinks, and packing up afterwards. They sent us home with all the leftovers which was fun as we fed the extended family again. The food was delicious. The entire experience was calming, because Mike and his team radiated calm.

I loved working with Michael and Some Things Fishy to cater my welcome party (40 people) and wedding dinner (60 people) two nights in a row. Michael gave us an extensive list of appetizers, entrees, etc. to choose from, and coordinated a tasting for us once I selected a dinner menu. All of the food was delicious, beautifully presented, and abundant! On top of the food, Michael's staff during both events were fantastic, particularly because the events were hosted in our backyard! Michael's team helped set up the bar and dinner tables, made sure everyone had enough food and drinks, and helped put me at ease. I would hire Some Things Fishy again in a heartbeat.

Working with Chef Bick and his team was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our guests were delighted by how good the food was! From appetizers, to kids buffet, to dinner to dessert. Our dinner was served under a tent in a field and the food and team made it feel luxurious. The serving team was friendly, attentive and professional. Chef was always responsive and clear in communication. We found the tasting he offered us to be charming and convincing. The food that he served at the event was just as good! We recommend highly, a true pleasure from start to finish.

Everything about our wedding reception on May 25, 2024, was perfect, and a significant part of that was due to our amazing caterer, Some Things Fishy Catering. The food was incredible—every dish was a hit with our guests. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented from the appetizers to the main course.
The staff was also outstanding. They were attentive, and professional, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. They were always available to answer questions and accommodate any special requests.

My sister hired Some Things Fishy for her September wedding in Ridgefield, CT and working with Michael and his team was a delight! I am a wedding planner based in another state and was so pleased with Michael's flexbility on menu items and menu changes, quick responses, and of course, incredible food taste! My sister opted for a family style meal which Michael and his team executed flawlessly. They provided so much for us in terms of platters and serving utensils, and it was fun to have new dishes brought to the table every few minutes. Michael also catered the desserts, which were so tasty - the apple cider donuts were my favorite. His bartending staff was professional and made great cocktails. I would absolutely hire Some Things Fishy again - highly recommend!!

I hosted a 55 person anniversary party for my parents. Chef Michael was recommended by the venue. I am so glad they did! The menu offerings were everything you could possibly want. Michael helped us narrow down the choices to suit the Fall season. He accommodated special requests. The quality and presentation of the food was top notch. Quantity was plentiful and he even packed our leftovers! Serving staff was super attentive as well. Some Things Fishy Catering exceeded all expectations and at a fair price given the highest quality.
