Would recommend!
Michael is an exceptional chef and person. Throughout our wedding experience with him, we were able to tap into his wealth of knowledge for our catering and overall wedding planning . He worked with us to curate a menu of some of our favorite foods and his specialties - essentially though he can do whatever you want! We even had affogato station for dessert which I thought would be a logistical nightmare for a backyard wedding but Michael executed with ease! I’m vegetarian and my husband is not. We had a mix of guests and Michael was carful to accommodate everyone, including our friend with a severe pepper allergy.
We decided on both passed and stationary h’ordures plus family style dinner and it was beautiful and delicious. We also used Michael’s team for our bartending and they were great! We had no crazy lines for dinks. Would recommend Michael for his for chef skills of course, but also just his general vibe and ease of working with.Some Things Fishy Catering's reply:

All around, we had a great experience with Mike and Some Things Fishy Catering for my daughter’s wedding party. Mike was helpful with both the menu and the vision for the party, which we organized ourselves with his input. We had hoped and planned for a beach party and when the weather report said rain, Mike helped us adjust the plans. He and his crew arrived early and the food was beautiful. The crew were helpful with refreshing the buffet, serving drinks, and packing up afterwards. They sent us home with all the leftovers which was fun as we fed the extended family again. The food was delicious. The entire experience was calming, because Mike and his team radiated calm. -

Excellent Wedding Event Catering
I loved working with Michael and Some Things Fishy to cater my welcome party (40 people) and wedding dinner (60 people) two nights in a row. Michael gave us an extensive list of appetizers, entrees, etc. to choose from, and coordinated a tasting for us once I selected a dinner menu. All of the food was delicious, beautifully presented, and abundant! On top of the food, Michael's staff during both events were fantastic, particularly because the events were hosted in our backyard! Michael's team helped set up the bar and dinner tables, made sure everyone had enough food and drinks, and helped put me at ease. I would hire Some Things Fishy again in a heartbeat. -

Working with Chef Bick and his team was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our guests were delighted by how good the food was! From appetizers, to kids buffet, to dinner to dessert. Our dinner was served under a tent in a field and the food and team made it feel luxurious. The serving team was friendly, attentive and professional. Chef was always responsive and clear in communication. We found the tasting he offered us to be charming and convincing. The food that he served at the event was just as good! We recommend highly, a true pleasure from start to finish. -

Everything about our wedding reception on May 25, 2024, was perfect, and a significant part of that was due to our amazing caterer, Some Things Fishy Catering. The food was incredible—every dish was a hit with our guests. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented from the appetizers to the main course.
The staff was also outstanding. They were attentive, and professional, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. They were always available to answer questions and accommodate any special requests.
We can't thank Michael and the staff of Some Things Fishy enough for making our wedding day so special. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a top-notch caterer!

Using Michael and his team for our wedding catering was an amazing decision! Michael is very professional, which made the entire catering process easy and stress free. I hosted a 55 person anniversary party for my parents. Chef Michael was recommended by the venue. I am so glad they did! The menu offerings were everything you could possibly want. Michael helped us narrow down the choices to suit the Fall season. He accommodated special requests. The quality and presentation of the food was top notch. Quantity was plentiful and he even packed our leftovers! Serving staff was super attentive as well. Some Things Fishy Catering exceeded all expectations and at a fair price given the highest quality. -

Awesome event catered by an amazing individual.

Michael and his staff were on top of it, we had reviewed other caterer's and Something Fishy was the best with food, pricing, staff, availability and personality. Would highly recommend over and over!! Extremely happy with our wedding and service! -

Chef Bick and his amazing staff exceeded all expectations. The food was fantastic. People are still talking about it 2 weeks after our wedding. His staff also made our wedding run smoothly and handled all challenges with setup with ease while also making sure we were happy with any proposed changes to setup. During all parts of the process we were treated with kindness and friendliness. It is easy to tell that Chef Bick does what he loves and I hope he never stops. Absolutely incredible service and food. I could not recommend Some Things Fishy more. They are the BEST. -

One of the two things that were more important to us than anything else when it came to our wedding was the food. We wanted to make sure that we gave our guests the best possible option for our special day, and it’s safe to say that we got that and more when we chose to go with Michael and his wonderful staff for our wedding day. We knew that we wanted to go with Some Things Fishy within minutes of looking at the menu that was provided to us - there were so many delicious options that we felt incorporated our lives in Los Angeles, our relationship story, and our tastes that it felt like a no-brainer.
On our wedding day, we were never disappointed. Michael and his team were easily one of the highlights of the day as they delivered exceptional, professional service with a personal touch. They made plates for us while we socialized with our guests early on and even got in on some of the fun later into the night at our photo booth! The food was EXCELLENT and many (if not all) of our guests were eager to point it out to us that night and in the days following.
Should you decide to choose Some Things Fishy for any special event, big or small, trust us when we say that you will not be disappointed. It’s very clear that Michael takes great pride in his work and the proof is in the pudding! -

Some Things Fishy catered our wedding this past weekend, and it was wonderful. We are a food family, and having somewhat seriously considered catering my own wedding (having now had my wedding, I also now know that that is insane—don’t do it), the stakes were high when it came to finding a caterer.
We found STF through our venue, Lakewood Estate. The owner, Michael has a love and appreciation for food that my family shares. He has an extensive list of unique menu options, from a wide range of cuisines. My family is Chinese, and my now husband is Jewish, and Michael crafted a “pastrami bao” appetizer — pastrami on a perfectly fluffy Chinese steamed bun. Such a fun distillation of our two cultures coming together. Our guests were impressed with the food and many commented on how good it was.
The service was also good—after a year of Covid and the prospect of a night out without their kids, my family came to party. When it was looking like my cousins were perhaps indulging a bit too much, I noticed the bartenders discreetly adding water to their drinks, to keep them safe while also not putting a damper on the fun of the party.
We also heard after the wedding was over that we ran out of glassware, but I never knew because Michael’s staff had taken care of it, washing glasses and bringing out fresh ones. Thanks Michael and team for helping to make our wedding wonderful!
