  The best of the best.

  Chef Bick, Frank, and the whole STF team were such a joy to have part of our wedding day. The entire process of working with STF from the initial phone call to last hug at the end of the night was phenomenal- you know you are in excellent hands from the get go, Chef Bick is unflappable-he's such a calming presence to have by you amidst the chaos of your wedding day. The whole team absolutely pampered us while seamlessly handling multiple hiccups throughout the evening with ease and grace. Chef Bick's food is STUNNING and the flavors are unbelievable, people are still gushing about the food two weeks later, and many can't believe how many times they went back for helpings of carrots of all things! Those carrots were insane. We can't possibly imagine a better experience, thank you Michael and thanks to the whole team for hitting it out of the park, you guys made the day so easy, fun, stress free, and incredibly delicious,

  Amazing Food

  Michael catered a private dinner at our house. He and his server easily blended into our kitchen and home. The salmon entrée was the best salmon I have ever had!

  Hands-free and easy. In addition to creating an amazing variety of food for our guests to eat their staff was friendly and the most helpful group of individuals I've ever worked with. Five stars!

  Michael and his team are the best!

  Michael and his team were wonderful to work with. We had a last minute venue change and he was extremely accommodating and flexible. The food was spectacular and unique. His staff were amazing- extremely kind and hard working. Would definitely recommend Something Fishy!

  Couldn't Have Asked for a Better Caterer!

  Michael and his staff were on top of it, we had reviewed other caterer's and Something Fishy was the best with food, pricing, staff, availability and personality. Would highly recommend over and over!! Extremely happy with our wedding and service!

  Nothing short of amazing.

  Chef Bick and his amazing staff exceeded all expectations. The food was fantastic. People are still talking about it 2 weeks after our wedding. His staff also made our wedding run smoothly and handled all challenges with setup with ease while also making sure we were happy with any proposed changes to setup. During all parts of the process we were treated with kindness and friendliness. It is easy to tell that Chef Bick does what he loves and I hope he never stops. Absolutely incredible service and food.   One of the two things that were more important to us than anything else when it came to our wedding was the food. We wanted to make sure that we gave our guests the best possible option for our special day, and it’s safe to say that we got that and more when we chose to go with Michael and his wonderful staff for our wedding day. We knew that we wanted to go with Some Things Fishy within minutes of looking at the menu that was provided to us - there were so many delicious options that we felt incorporated our lives in Los Angeles, our relationship story, and our tastes that it felt like a no-brainer.
  
  On our wedding day, we were never disappointed. Michael and his team were easily one of the highlights of the day as they delivered exceptional, professional service with a personal touch. They made plates for us while we socialized with our guests early on and even got in on some of the fun later into the night at our photo booth! The food was EXCELLENT and many (if not all) of our guests were eager to point it out to us that night and in the days following.

  Micheal Bick and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with. His food was incredible and our guests are still talking about it almost a month after our wedding. He worked with us to create a menu that was exactly what we wanted and presented it beautifully. His staff (bartenders, waiters) were also outstanding and very professional. I would recommend him for any wedding or event in need of catering - he truly was great to work with and his food was thoughtful, sophisticated, and delicious.

  Spectacular

  From the beginning Chef Bick was responsive with my daughter and now son in law with all the particulars up to the big day. The wedding dinner was spectacular from the cocktail hour through dessert. A special mention to Chef Bick's support staff. Always checking in making sure everything was meeting our expectations.   Fantastic chef and crew! We ended up having to fire our original caterer a week before our wedding and Some Things Fishy Catering jumped in at the last minute and literally saved the day! The food was amazing and our guests commented on how delicious everything was. So appreciative of how quickly they were able to make things come together and so so happy with the outcome! Would highly recommend!

  We engaged Michael and their team before COVID began and he was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire process which included moving our wedding date twice. Michael was very flexible and willing to accommodate any and all requests. Their food was also a step above the other caterers we tested and this was the deciding factor in our selection of Something fishy. Michael answered dozens of questions and clarifications that we had throughout the process. Outside of minor issues day of that were partially our fault, I cannot recommend Michael and his team enough as they were professional and flexible to make the day as great as possible.

  Delicious food, approved by my food-obsessed family!

  Some Things Fishy catered our wedding this past weekend, and it was wonderful. We are a food family, and having somewhat seriously considered catering my own wedding (having now had my wedding, I also now know that that is insane—don’t do it), the stakes were high when it came to finding a caterer.
  
  We found STF through our venue, Lakewood Estate. The owner, Michael has a love and appreciation for food that my family shares. He has an extensive list of unique menu options, from a wide range of cuisines. My family is Chinese, and my now husband is Jewish, and Michael crafted a “pastrami bao” appetizer — pastrami on a perfectly fluffy Chinese steamed bun. Such a fun distillation of our two cultures coming together. Our guests were impressed with the food and many commented on how good it was.
  
  The service was also good—after a year of Covid and the prospect of a night out without their kids, my family came to party. When it was looking like my cousins were perhaps indulging a bit too much, I noticed the bartenders discreetly adding water to their drinks, to keep them safe while also not putting a damper on the fun of the party.
  
  We also heard after the wedding was over that we ran out of glassware, but I never knew because Michael’s staff had taken care of it, washing glasses and bringing out fresh ones. Thanks Michael and team for helping to make our wedding wonderful!

From customizing our menu, to execution on the day of, we could not have been happier in choosing Some Things Fishy Catering for our special day. Michael was extremely easy to reach, and always responded promptly. On our actual wedding day, our schedule got delayed by almost an hour, but Michael and his team were able to accommodate and make sure that our guests had food and drinks in their hands as soon as the ceremony concluded. Our guests raved about the food, specifically the braised short ribs (a must try!), and he even made a special cultural dish that my wife and her family grew up eating. Their head of staff Malik made sure that his crew were always attentive to our guests, and checked in with us multiple times to make sure we were taken care of. On such a hectic day with so many things to worry about, it was nice to know that we could count on Michael and his team to make sure that catering was not one of them. We couldn’t say enough positive remarks about our experience, and will definitely look to them for our future private events!

Then the pandemic hit. The couple opted for a small family wedding with home cooking. One year later, we contacted Some Things Fishy about catering an engagement lunch for my younger daughter and her fiancé. We couldn't have been more pleased! The food was delicious, farm fresh and beautifully presented. Michael worked with us to choose a menu that was perfect for our family and friends.   Outstanding

  Michael Bick and his team provided the most delicious and unique food for my daughter’s wedding. Chef Buck helps you throughout the planning stages and has great suggestions. Chef Bick is a master chef, the cocktail hour was a work of art. My guests were raving about the food. From the pasta station , to the cheese station, to the passed hors d’oeuvers , everyone was extremely pleased.
  Dinner service was outstanding, each table was truly taken care of by the wait staff. The steak, chicken and fish selections were delicious and my friend’s vegetarian dinner was a work of art. Frank, the captain made sure the entire evening went off beautifully.
  The bartender was friendly and made the most beautiful raspberry Mojito’s, my daughters signature drink.
  At the end of the evening the desert table was a complete success. Miniature pastries and hot apple cider donuts were a hit.
  When the tent was empty and the staff was in the final stages of clean up, my family was sitting around the last table standing, Frank came out with a tray of hot cider drinks to finish off the evening.
  I highly recommend Chef Bick and his team.

  A Dream Come True

  Some Things Fishy Catering made what seemed to us an impossible undertaking- a back yard home wedding reception for 160 guests into a spectacular reality! The menu choices were delicious, starting with the passed appetizers to the final light dessert bites. The staff worked tirelessly from set-up to break-down and was enthusiastic and courteous. We have received numerous notes from guests saying how impressed they were with the catering.

  Excellent Food, Wonderful Service

  Michael Bick, owner, was flexible and easy to work with (and I live 3000 from the venue where he catered our son's rehearsal dinner). Food was farm-to-table fresh, clean, lovely deliciousness, presented beautifully and attended by a gracious staff that was a joy to work with as well. Highest of praise for Some Things Fishy!

  Something Fishy

  I never give 5 star reviews, but i had to for Something Fishy. Michael is a pleasure to work with. Every member of his staff was super-competent but also so nice! Most important, the food was fabulous. My guests are still raving about it! This was a totally outstanding experience

  Highly recommended- far above your normal wedding cuisine

  Michael was a dream to work with as he was very responsive and flexible with our menu. He offered suggestions but was willing to make dishes that we specifically requested. The food was outstanding and our guests told us it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. His staff was friendly and professional. The servers were always there with plates of hors d'oeuvres. They made sure that even the wedding party got to eat some of the hors d'oeuvres. We opted for family style which worked beautifully as guests could help themselves to sides dishes right on their tables and the servers came around to help everyone to the entrees. The captain was always there to make sure everything ran smoothly. We also had him cater the rehearsal dinner which was also excellent.
