My company booked the Sheraton for a banquet with about 120 guests and were very disappointed. The room we used had these giant pillars that made it impossible to see around the room. The lighting in the room was terrible and they refused to fix it. After the event, they charged us for all banquet items before they ever sent us the bill! It took almost 2 weeks to get the bill and they had OVERcharged us. During set up, we had to hound people to get us the extra tables/tablecloths/chairs and things that we needed. We had to sit and wait about an hour while we waited for them to bring up the extra stuff. The parking situation is terrible there and to cap off the entire thing, the hotel was burning hot! My room read 85 degrees! It's impossible to sleep in that. I went to the front desk to ask for a new room and they didn't have anything available so I checked out at 1 AM and they didn't offer us any sort of compensation for the room. I talked to a manager and he said that he would give us enough star points to cover another night, but of course he never did. Most assuredly my worse experience with any hotel and I have planned 3 other similar events in the past year alone.

I fell in love with the Summit room with all of its columns and incredible view. We used the room for both the ceremony and reception, and had about 80 guests. Any more guests and they would not have all been able to see due to the columns obstructing the view. Booked the event approximately 12 months out - when it came closer I emailed to set up a tasting/start to talk about specifics, and was informed that my point of contact was no longer there - and then they asked me what my date was (I about had a heart attack). The next point of contact told me certain specific things were possible that the previous contact had said were impossible. And she re-did my contract, saying the previous person had overestimated charges. I was happy at this point. Then, less than one month before my event, this lady quit too. It goes on an on. No outside catering is permitted. They did let us use a small board room to get ready in, which was nice - once we asked them to get the giant table out of there.

Ultimately, I loved the room. The food is delicious. BUT! The staff is ridiculous and there are vast inconsistencies in what you can have and how much it will cost, depending on who you talk to. Keep copies of all your contracts and all of your receipts, and double check that you don't get overcharged. Get an itemized statement from the ACCOUNTING department. Unless you just have to have the room, go somewhere else.
