Tips and Advice
There are a couple of peices of information we have learned throughout the years and the many weddings we have been priviledged to be included. One is that you should taste the food you are ordering for your reception before you make your decision. A bride that I worked with chose "Beef tips" which ended up being hamburger, it was seasoned like meatloaf, so the guests got a little meatloaf. It wasn't horrible, but it defiately wasn't what she was expecting. If she had asked to do a tasting she could have avoided this problem. Most catering places are more than happy to do a tasting, but you will probably have to ask. Another tip is if you decide to have a sit down meal and give your guests choices of food make your place cards different colors depending on the food they choose. Also, instead of spending all the time to make a seating chart set the place cards on a table as your guest enter the reception area they can pick up their card and sit where they want. It is really helpful to have a designated person on the special day to help you with whatever you need. You never know when your going to need someone to run out and get something you have forgotten. The weddings that I have been a part of that has had a "lady in waiting" or whatever you want to call her have run more smoothly because they have had this person.
