I absolutely loved the Kenwood Community Church. Our wedding was beautiful and everything I had ever dreamed. The church is picturesque - built 120 years ago, white siding, steeple with bell that was sounded at the beginning and end of our wedding. The pastor we used was a pastor from a different church in nearby santa rosa recommended to us by the Kenwood Community Church. The sermon was adequate and approximately what I had asked for, although the pastor himself was a little distant throughout the ceremony and didn't seem to be happy to be there. He was similarly behaved at our rehearsal. The major downside to the church was that in order to rent the church you are forced to pay their "wedding coordinator" approximately $150. Although she is very friendly, she is also extremely disorganized. She took control of our rehearsal, which I appreciated, however didn't ask who was who among the wedding party and thus had my husband's great uncle escorting his grandmother while his step-grandfather was asked to take a seat, and his father's girlfriend escorting his father while his sister was asked to take a seat. Also had bridesmaids lined up the wrong way, mismatched wtih groomsmen, etc. In the meantime, I was told to wait in a back room and had no idea what was going on until someone in my wedding party complained to me that she was doing things all backwards. On the day of our wedding, she decided to show the church to another couple without asking our permission first, and this was only 30 minutes before the ceremony. To top it all off, she spilt water on my dress and overcharged my mother for the rental of the church stating that I had not paid the full ballance when I had. I would probably rent the church again, but only under the condition that I be able to use my own coordinator and not be required to pay to use theirs.
