I had the pleasure of working with Julie at a past wedding. Her and her assistant were all over the place, snapping every moment of the wedding. From capturing the pure emotion during the vow exchange, to the raw energy of the first dance boogie, not a moment was missed on film. Meeting Julie and her assistant, was like meeting up with an old friend. We laughed, we cried (with joy of course) and enjoyed doing what we love.

Tips and Advice
Helpful Information
For photo shoots with Julie Broadbent Photography
•Make sure you and your family are wearing complementing colours. Colours such as white, beige, khaki, baby pink and blue photograph clean and clear. Wear something that blends well with what everyone else will be wearing.
•Please do not wear any clothing displaying logos (ex. Adididas, Nike, Roots, etc.)
•Please keep in mind when wearing eye glasses, reflections from light and flash, as some reflections may not be able to be airbrushed out.
•For maternity photos, you’re best to wear a bra and pants that do not create any lines on your skin, as this will appear in your photos.
• When choosing the location of your photography session, keep in mind how busy the location can be and at what times of day. Also keep in mind if there is a charge to use the location.
• Please book your photography session around a time that works best for all of the children being photographed. This way every one is well rested and appears as themselves!
• Bring cover-up and/or makeup with you for touch ups
• For outdoor sessions, always ensure you have a backup indoor location in cases of bad weather.
• It is a good idea to coordinate your photo shoot before hand. Speak with those you want in the photos and point out anything you may want shots of. Go over this with your photographer before the shoot, to ensure everything is captured.
• For weddings, combine a binder with your favourite wedding snap shots from magazines, internet sites, friend’s weddings, etc. Sit down with your photographer and go over which shots you would like for your special day, so that they can arrange to make it happen. They will also have a book of ideas to share with you!
• Ensure that you have enquired about the permit rules for the location(s) where your photo shoot will take place.
• In regards to weddings, please speak with your Minister or person presiding over your ceremony with regards to their rules and regulations for flash photography. Some prefer the photographer to hold off, as the flash disrupts the ceremony.
• It is always helpful to have someone who is not involved in the wedding party to point out who’s-who to the photographer and assistant. This way no family or friends who are to be included in each shot, are missing.
• Please arrange before hand, a time to take photos of the wedding party and family and friends. This will assure things run smoothly and no detail, person or thing is left out.
• Please make sure locations for photographs are decided before your shoot- this will save time and assure you receive the most photos for your dollar. Please also make sure the photographer knows the times and locations of where you would like the photos taken.
• Lastly, enjoy your day!
