Tips and Advice
Natural makeup Tips! Hi Ladies, I love soft fresh skin so I wanted to give you some fresh makeup tips so you can look your very best on your honey moon, vacation or just any day. Makeup should enhance your natural beauty but you should not have to hide under it. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions at joann@joannrobertson.com, I am always here to help! Here are a few tips you can use: There is a key into getting the perfect natural face, it involves the use of some basic tools and at least ten minutes. You will need an eyelash curler, mascara, tinted moisturizer, concealer, brow gel and lip gloss. Start with clean skin follow with a toner to p.h balance your skin and soften it so the moisturizer glides next apply eye cream in a patting motion, always pat around the eye as it is delicate be sure to always use an s.p.f in moisturizer if you do not use foundation to protect. Oily skins try Clarins oil free spf it is super light weight. The key to not needing a heavy makeup is in your skin being healthy. Squeeze the tinted moisturizer onto the opposite of palm warm up with brush and apply directly to apple of the cheek and work upward. Perfect any lines with fingers if needed. I love the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer it is hydrating. Apply concealer with fingers on any darkness around eyes generally from the corners, remember to add a touch of brightening powder to set the eyes so they don't melt away through the day. If you have blemishes add foundation to the areas with a small concealer brush. Concealer may be to heavy and only draw attention to them. Dust t-zone lightly with translucent powder. Remember to shake the excess powder off the brush. Try not to use too much powder as it will kill the dewiness of the look, I like the Yves Saint Laurent Translucent powder it reflects the light and you can shave off just what you need thanks to its quirky mechanism. I personally love to highlight a little.Brush brows upward and apply gel if they are thick enough, if not add a little pencil for more definition. If you are not good with pencil use a powder I like Beccas brow powder for this technique you will need a stiff angled brush finish with gel for a natural look. Next if you would like add a very natural eyeshadow to the lid this color should be shimmer free and in a bone or nut shade just for a soft pop, otherwise go natural. Curl lashes and apply mascara and if your like me you can cheat cut a lash in half and apply to the lash line as close as possible, the eye will look brighter and open. Stick with a shorter lash for this look. The top lip tends to look a little darker you may add concealer to the center of the lip and blend to even the out, this tip is also great for really pink lips when doing nude shades. Apply natural lip liner think soft pink, cinnamon, apply gloss on top and blend with brush onto the lip line. Next add a nice cheek stain like Tarte which is water based so it glides on to the skin, blend upwards. It gives the perfect fresh out the cold look. Now you are ready for the day! |
