What types, such as unedited footage or special effects, of videography do you offer?
Raw footage can be purchased as an add-on feature. As far as special effects, all of our packaging includes professional editing. Tasteful effects, slow-motion, edited dissolves, black & white, enhanced colorization, etc. is incorporated to enhance the quality of each production.

Describe any special editing services you offer:
We take a lot of care and concern with editing. We typically spend about 3 hours editing for every 1 hour of captured film. This aspect is often overlooked but is very important to truly tell the story and provide the audio/visual experience our clients have come to expect from us.

Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
We utilize 100% digital, professional cameras to film our events. These cameras respond well to low-light situations and negate the need for obtrusive lighting in a wedding ceremony. To achieve optimal video quality at the reception, we utilize on-camera lighting. It is more appropriate in this setting.

How many videographers do you work with?
Depending on the shoot, 2-3 videographers are in attendance at every event.

Does the client get to meet the videographers before the event?
Absolutely! We perform personal consultations with all of our couples. This session allows the bride and groom to become comfortable with us and determines how we will film, edit and produce their wedding footage.

Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We may shoot multiple weddings in a weekend, but only one daily. We are present at every contracted event.

Do you have a replacement videographer in case you become unavailable on the event day?
Yes.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We try to be as unobtrusive as possible so we bring the bare necessities: Cameras, tripods/monopods, audio board, lapel mics, etc...we do use three audio sources to ensure the memories of our clients are preserved at the optimal level of quality.

Do you bring backup equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
We use 2-3 cameras and multiple audio sources to ensure each event is well-covered regardless of any mishaps.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
1

Do you give access to your raw footage?
Yes.

Do you reserve the right to use the video in the future for promotions, contents, etc.?
Yes. We take pride in our work and this is the best way to show future clients what they can expect.

Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing?
We ALWAYS provide a rough draft to our clients so they have the opportunity to provide feedback before their final cut is produced. Client satisfaction is our top priority.

How long does it take for the client to get the final video?
It varies based on the extent of the production and the selected options. We provide each client with an estimated date for completion based on their package selection.

Tips and Advice
Look to contract with a videographer that not only answers your questions, but solicits your feedback.  After all, this is one of the most important events of your life.  You’ve taken care to plan every detail and your videographer should be concerned about your likes and dislikes, what you’re expecting from your video, and your personal style.

Always ask to see multiple samples of their work and don’t be afraid to ask him or her lots of questions!  Any professional will be more than willing to thoroughly answer your questions.  Consider their responses in your decision-making process.

Here are some suggested questions:

What is your philosophy in working with other vendors-namely the photographer?

Do you attend the wedding rehearsal?

What’s the videographer’s style -- cinematic, documentary, or a mix of both? (Then ask yourselves: Does this jibe with what we’re going for?)

Has the videographer done many weddings before? What’s their storytelling approach when it comes to taping a wedding? (This clues you in to his experience and philosophy.) Ask to view samples of  recent work.

How is musical selection determined for my video?

Will my package include preparation shots on the wedding party?  How soon do you arrive?

Has the videographer won any awards? Is he a member of any national and local videography associations?

Has he ever shot a wedding at your ceremony or reception site?

How many other weddings is the videographer shooting on your wedding day or weekend? (Make sure to be aware of any time constraints.)

Will the videographer you’re speaking to be the one who will be shooting your wedding? If not, make sure you speak to whomever will actually shoot.

What types of cameras, tapes, and microphones will the videographer use? Will they use a tripod, still-cam or other steadying device to ensure fluid shots?

How bright a light do they use? (If shooting requires the room lights to be on all evening, much of the romance and ambience of your event may be lost.)

Will a backup camera be on hand for the event?

How does the videographer charge for services? Are there packages? Request a price list.

Most importantly...have FUN and ENJOY YOUR DAY!  You’ve done the planning now let everyone else care for the execution and details.....just relax, enjoy each other and take in EVERY moment! :0)
