About

Every Last Detail is a full service, independent wedding planning and consulting service based in Lexington, Kentucky. As less-than-romantic as it sounds, weddings are a business, first and foremost, to every baker, caterer, photographer, floral designer and reception facility coordinator in which a bride and groom will come in contact with during their wedding day planning. As much as brides hope that every vendor will care passionately about their wedding day, sometimes vendors don’t come through as hoped. Our job is to turn your wedding dreams into reality all the while referring you to dependable and reputable vendors, double checking contracts, and arranging deliveries and rental returns. Our packages are completely customized to suit your needs; some brides like to plan most of the wedding themselves while other brides prefer to have someone else completely coordinate and implement all their ideas for their Big Day. Whichever plan you choose, it is always best to have someone on your side looking out for your best interests. Give us a call so we can discuss your fabulous event. We love weddings!

Frequently Asked Questions for Wedding Planning
What wedding planning services do you offer?
Day-of Coordinator, Full Planning, Partial Planning

How many planners do you work with?
Based on the wedding package the bride chooses, I can work with up to 3 staff. In my opinion, having any more than three personnel can start to overwhelm an intimate and romantic event. My full and basic packages allow for at least two planners; one to assist with getting the bride ready for photographs and another to coordinate the ceremony and reception areas.

What style of wedding do you specialize in planning?
My goal is to listen to what the bride wants for her day. It's not my wedding, it's yours. I want to create the wedding of your dreams. This won't be an "Every Last Detail wedding" but a wedding that reflects your style. Guests at memorable events always walk away with a better sense of who the bride and groom are and what makes their love for each other unique and special.

Do you support or cater to any specific religions?
See cultural support.

What sizes of weddings have you coordinated in the past?
I have coordinated weddings up to 250 guests. Although your wedding may be larger than that, and most are, smaller weddings are actually harder to pull off because of the attention to detail. I am confident I can handle any size event. It's not the size of the wedding but how the details are handled that make for a great wedding.

Which venues have you worked at or are familiar with?
As a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants, I am in constant contact with Event Managers of major reception facilities in Lexington and throughout the state of Kentucky. I have helped coordinate rehearsals and weddings at the Marriott Griffin Gate, Red Mile, Talon Vineyards, and The Brown Hotel in Louisville.

Additional Questions and Answers
What made you want to be a wedding planner? First off, I love weddings. Nothing chokes me up more than seeing a groom’s reaction to his bride walking down the aisle. Gets me every time! Second, I really enjoy helping people. If I wasn’t helping brides plan their Big Day I would be a nurse, or a teacher, or a volunteer at a Childrens’ Hospital. However, as a wedding planner I am able to put my organizational skills, creative mind and interpersonal relationship skills to use and still make a little money on the side. Am I doing this to retire early? No. Only "Planners to the Stars" make a killing in this profession. However, I know, in my heart, that I am providing a valuable service to each of my brides. I am able to listen to their visions and transform their dreams into reality. Unlike vendors that you purchase material goods from, wedding planners don’t just create something, deliver it and then walk away. We are with you the whole way and we want your wedding to be exactly as you imagined.

We just added invitations and linen rental to our list of services! Ooh, I'm so excited to be working with the great companies I found here on Weddingwire.com!

Tips and Advice
First tip: The best way to convey your wedding day hopes and dreams is to create an inspiration board for your wedding planner. I have a great visual example on my blog but just as it sounds, as soon as you can, start a collection of pictures that reflect what inspires you. It can be anything from magazine clippings of flowers, cakes, home accessories, antique furniture, to photos of landscaping, mountain top views, or your nephew laughing. Really, just about anything that puts a smile on your face. Also, go to a home supply store and get some paint chip cards of your favorite colors, too. That way, instead of saying, "my colors are off-white and brown." you can say, "Creme Brulee and Espresso."  Doesn’t that sound more specific already? Yum!

Second tip: You’ve probably seen message boards filled with comments like, "You don’t need a wedding planner...you can plan the wedding yourself." Or, "My family is handling the wedding so we’re fine." Can you plan your own wedding? Absolutely! You can also buy a house without the help of a real estate agent. While planning a wedding is fun and exciting for some brides, others struggle with the huge stress and unnecessary burden of dealing with contracts and handling the mundane details. Many times there are family issues that need to be addressed in order for a wedding to run smoothly. Wedding planners can help facilitate positive interactions between a bride and her future mother-in-law or, sometimes, even her own mother. Our only request is before you discount the value of a wedding planner, at least meet with one or two to get an accurate discription of exactly what we have to offer. Our greatest reward is seeing a bride who may never have thought they needed a planner but then quickly became overwhelmed thank us profusely at the end of the reception saying it was the wedding of her dreams. Nothing makes us happier!
