FAQ #1 - When is the best time to hold a beach ceremony in Florida?
It all depends on the type of ceremony you wish to have. If is a simple and short ceremony service with no seated guests or decorations (elopements) is always a good time. However, if you are hoping for a small or large ceremony with seated guests, etc., winter and spring are the best months. With mild temperatures (70's and sometimes 80's) and low rain chances, these are the best months to have an outdoor ceremony. Our rain season is actually the summer and temperature can reach close to 100 degrees.
FAQ #2 - What should I wear for my beach ceremony?
1. No veils - they do not work on the beach! Is normally breezy and depending on the wind direction, it will be flying all over your face!
2. No hair bans - No matter how short your hair is, you should keep it away from your face! Not even a small string of hair; that string of hair will get in between your eyes in all your pictures - I guarantee it!
3. Dress - Avoid "puffy" dresses, heavy dresses and trains. Remember that the beach is NOT your traditional comfortable venue.. dragging a train through boardwalks and sand is not a good idea. A light-weight, flow dress works best and looks stunning in pictures. Also, avoid dresses with corsages; these will not let you sit down, bend and pose for all those romantic and fun photos around the beach!
4. Men - NO Tuxes, NO Tuxes unless is January or February; the only two months we will get a cold day or two. The rest of the year is always HOT in Central Florida and you will be sweating and uncomfortable throughout the entire ceremony! Guys look best wish khaki pants and a light weight cotton shirt.
5. Shoes - NO heels (including wedges) and guys - please, do not wear shoes with socks... flip-flops work (and look) best!
Finally, a rule of thumb: If the bride is wearing a long dress, the groom should wear long khaki pants (NO SHORTS), the groom should not wear shorts unless the bride's dress is short too.
