Ari Rosenfield, head DJ for Beat Train Productions, has become known for his reliability, versatility, and professionalism.  Ari has gained an impeccable reputation with his DJ residencies and frequent club appearances.

His DJ residencies include a weekly Thursday night gig at Zuzu in Cambridge for “Mambo Beat Club,” where he spins an eclectic mix of retro latin, jazz, soul, and pop nuggets from the 1950’s to 1970’; a monthly residency at Common Ground in Allston for “Cheap Thrills a Go-Go!” where he spins 1960’s era soul, funk, and psychedelic anthems; and a second monthly residency at Common Ground for “Rumpshaker,” where he spins old school hip hop, eighties, disco, and funk.  In addition to his residencies, Ari has also appeared at many other venues, including the Milky Way Lounge and Lanes, Middlesex Lounge, Tazza Caffe, and the Alchemist.

As a mobile DJ, Ari is able to offer a proven track record, flexibility, experience and dependability. As a fully insured mobile DJ, with state of the art equipment (and back-up equipment), and consistent punctuality, you can count on Ari.

Musically, Ari will work with you do develop a program that will suit your needs. Whether you’d like Ari to delve into his collection of mambo, soul, and jazz obscurities, or hear oldies, classics and/or pop music (or anything in between), he’ll work with you to make it happen.

-
Yes, I am fully insured for all mobile gigs.

What gimmicks do you offer, like playing games with the crowd, telling jokes, dressing in costumes, etc?

-Sorry, I don't offer any gimmicks.

What kind of equipment do you have?

-I have state of the art sound equipment, including ultra high fidelity speakers, wireless microphones, and back up equipment in case of equipment failure (which luckily, has never happened to me).

What do you wear to gigs?

-I generally will wear a dark colored suit and tie. A tuxedo or casual dress are possible, upon request.

Will you emcee the event?

-Absolutely, however as an emcee it is my policy to be subtle, as to not take away attention from the function and the music. When I do speak on the microphone, it is clear and concise.

Do you DJ with vinyl records?

-At my club gigs, yes I do use vinyl records. For my mobile gigs I use high quality digital formats as they allow me to bring a massive amount of music to be able to accommodate the different tastes of the audience. Occasionally, however, when a client explicitly communicates that they want me to play in the style I do at my club gigs and not take requests, I will bring my turntables and vinyl with me.

Will Ari dj the gig, or simply refer the gig to someone else?

-You can rest assured that I’ll will be there personally to dj your event.

Do you take requests?

-I’ll will work with you prior to the gig to establish what songs and genres, if any, you’d like to request and what songs and genres you’d like put on a “no-play list”.

Do you require that we provide you with a meal?

-No I do not. However, if it is provided it will be graciously accepted.

Do you require a deposit?

-Yes, 50% of the balance is required to hold the date. The remaining 50% is due by the day of the event.

Do you have any samples of the music you play?

-Yes, you can hear a few mixes of my mixes on my website at the media page.

Do you have references?

-Absolutely, I have posted some of them on my website on the testimonials page.

Do you charge extra if the necessity arises for you to DJ longer than agreed upon?

-Yes, it would be $75 per half hour extra.

How far are you willing to travel for a gig?

-There is not necessarily a limit to how far I travel. For engagements greater than 60 miles outside of Boston, however there would be an additional fee to cover the cost of hotel accommodations.
