About
Welcome to Beads in Bloom!

Here you will find a wonderfully unique way to make your wedding memories last a lifetime.  French beaded flowers make wonderful keepsakes for you and your wedding party.

I’d absolulety love to work with you to create something memorable for your wedding. I began french beading while preparing for my wedding. I made some bouquets for my bridesmaids that will last a lifetime, so doing this is very near and dear to my heart. I’d be honored to do the same for you.

Be it bouquets for you and your girls, corsages for the moms, boutonnieres for the fellas, flowers to adorn the sash (if you have one) around your dress or your bridesmaid’s dresses, or even just a few full size flowers to enhance your fresh flower bouquet, what a beautiful and unique addition to your special day. Contact me for a price quote, information or with any questions!

A little about the craft:  french beading has been around for centuries. Long ago, European peasants would collect discarded glass beads (beads considered not worthy of adorning royal attire). They would then string them on wire and create flowers. Eventually these flower made their way into weddings and during the Victorian Era, french beaded flowers became very popular in the form of mourning wreaths that were used as a sign of tribute when one passed away.   When french beading, tiny seed beads are strung on wire and are then wrapped in different forms around one another. This creates one particular part of the flower (petal, leaf, stamen, etc.). These pieces are then combined and secured together to create each flower.

Frequently Asked Questions for Flowers & Decor
What type of decor (if any) do you offer?
I leave that part of the wedding up to the customer. I like to focus simply on making the flowers, and arranging them if necessary.

Do you offer flower preservation services?
No need! These flowers will never die.

Additional Questions and Answers
In what floral aspect do you specialize?
Most of my orders, and therefore my specialty, are for flowers for the bridal party; bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres.  I can make flowers to serve as decor for the reception tables or elsewhere, however.

How far in advance do I need to contact you and book my flowers?
As far in advance as possible since making beaded flowers is so labor  and time intensive.  Depending on when you give me the green light to start beading, how big your order is, and when your event actually is, there may be an expedite fee added to your order.

Is a deposit required?
Yes, a 50% deposit based on the estimated cost of your order is required before beading begins.

Can you supply sample beads to make sure I’m getting the right colors for my big day?
Absolutely.  For a small fee, I can furnish you with samples.

How ’hands-on’ are you as a florist?
My florist style is a bit different than a traditional florist.  Since beaded flowers are in no danger of dying, often I’ll have a client’s order ready weeks prior to her wedding.  Most of my orders have been for flowers for the bridal party (bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres) which require no set-up on my part, however centerpieces are definately an option.  In that case I’d be more than happy to help with set-up if you so desire.  Just let me know!  I try to be very laid back about everything.

What flowers can you make?
Almost any flower can be made in beaded form.  If you don’t see the flowers you’re looking for in my portfolio or my website (see sold items), just ask!  I will be very honest with you about your requests.  If I don’t feel I can make a good beaded representation of the flower in question, I will let you know.  I’m also open to suggestions if you have a ’fantasy flower’ in mind.  I’d love to work with you to create it!

Tips and Advice

French beaded flowers can get very heavy very fast, so keep that in mind when dreaming up your bouquet.  I’ll accommodate your requests to the best of my ability, but be forewarned, the last thing I want is for you to be cursing your bouquet as you walk down the aisle because it’s so heavy!

Also, due to their weight many french beaded corsages and boutonnieres work best when attached to heavier fabrics.  However, a larger corsage can be made and enjoyed if attached to a wristlet.
