Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Honestly, we can do every type of technique. I'd say techniques with the camera are much more important than techniques with photoshop (sepia, hand-coloring, etc). We use advanced photography techniques at your wedding utilizing off-camera flash/lighting. It works really well. As far as editing goes, we ALWAYS edit every photograph for color and contrast. If a photograph lends itself to black & white or sepia, we'll convert it to black & white or sepia. If you'd like any photograph edited any certain way - just let us know. We're always happy to accomidate.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
All lighting situations. To be specific - flat out pouring, raining, drizzling, overcast, candlelight, soft light, low light, fire light, partly cloudy, sunny, overhead sun, sunset, sunrise... everything.
P.S. We have the best lenses in the industry to shoot in low lighting just as well as great lighting as well as camera bodies that deal well with low light conditions. :)
Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital.
How many photographers do you work with?
Anna and Spencer, so two (no 1st and 2nd photographer - equal photographers with equal skill here - we're husband and wife as well). Anna typically will stay with the bride while she prepares for the wedding (just an fyi) and Spencer with the groom. We really have a great time all day when shooting a wedding.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes! 100% Absolutely! We really feel strongly about this. We will NEVER leave you hanging. We are at every wedding we book regardless of what is happening in our lives - it is your day - your most important day - we will be there.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Never more than one in a day. We've done two in a weekend - it is pretty rough. Unless they are very short coverage, we typically don't book more than one per weekend.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes. If the case happens where we can't make it (it'd have to be something that results with both of us in the hospital - we're really adamant about being there), we always have backup photographers.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Cameras (we use Canon 5Ds), Flashes (we sync them together wirelessly to produce some great shots), mono/tri-pod (though, seldomly used), off-camera lighting, plenty of memory cards, 20" iMac for the same-day slideshow of the wedding at the reception, and of course - fun loving personalities - the most important part.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yep. We have backup equipment - backup cameras, backup cards, backup batteries, backup flashes, ... backup everything. Though, we've never had to use our backups at a single wedding.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
We prefer to cover 12 hours but range from 6 - 12. For our full pricing, just see our website (http://www.annaandspencer.com) > Investment > Create Your Custom Collection. All the information is there.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
We're always open to staying longer than was originally agreed. The charge for us to stay additional hours is our standard rate of $500 per additional hour.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
It depends on how long the day is - six hour coverage vs 12 hour coverage is quite a difference. We don't like taking breaks at all - we really enjoy photography. We just get into it (and even forget to eat sometimes). If it is full day coverage, having meals throughout the day (lunch/dinner) are the only 'breaks' we take.
Do you charge for travel?
No. We do not charge any travel fee for anywhere inside the United States. For international weddings, we only charge a flat $1650 travel fee (we do retain the right to charge more if the fee to us is significantly higher).
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
A slideshow is typically up within three days of the wedding. So a Staurday wedding will have a slideshow up telling the story of the day (set to music) on Monday evening. The rest of the photographs are typically on Pictage.com within 3-4 weeks of the wedding.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Pictage.com, our website for the slideshow, and we deliver them on a Data DVD with personal printing rights.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Indefinitely - we don't really offer "proofs" - you get the digital files, they are yours to keep with personal printing rights. The proofs on Pictage.com stay online for three months.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
We retain copyright. We give personal printing rights to the couple for their photographs. This means they can get them printed for whoever they want by whoever they want. Piece of cake.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes - otherwise we couldn't put it on our own blog or website or Pictage.com. We give personal printing rights to the couple. We retain the rights to publish the photographs as we do get published in various magazines.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
If it is included in the collection. They also receive personal printing rights (they can get them printed anywhere they want)
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, on Pictage.com
What kind of albums do you offer?
Flush-Mount Albums (Willowbook, Leather Craftsman, La Vie, etc) These are the types of albums where the photographs are printed directly on the pages and every two pages is treated like a spread.
When will the client get the final album?
The book itself takes 4-6 weeks to print & bind. So, once we have finalized the design with you, it will be 4-6 weeks. You can have it in as little as 6 weeks and as much as 2 months depending on when the album design is finalized (it really is an individual item).
