Steve & I live in Philadelphia, but getting married by the water has always been important to me. My parents bought a house in the Tampa area right before I met Steve, and Florida has always been my second home. Steve was in Tampa as an artist at Tampa Bay Comic Con and while we were there, we looked at venues for a potential destination wedding. I immediately loved the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk's main ballroom that overlooked the river and had a great balcony. It was the perfect combination of the city feel we both love and the beachy waterfront feel I had always dreamed of. Our coordinator Paul was great to work with and put me at ease as an out-of-town bride. He suggested many of our vendors and they were all excellent, especially our DJ Doug from Grant Hemond & Associates. One of the biggest selling points from the Sheraton was that Paul mentioned we could have a boat exit on the river. It was so fun to cruise past our friends and family afterwards, and getting to spend some alone time with my new husband was the perfect ending to our day.

The bolt on the door jammed after we left and maintenence had to come break the door down. In the commotion, Steve who had the room next door, popped his head out and saw us sitting on the ground across the hall. I hadn't started panicking yet, but seeing him put me at ease and we both started laughing about it. I know it's "bad luck" to see each other before the wedding, but it was perfect for us.
