The story of our wedding
Steven and I have known each other since college at Appalachian State University (circa 2010). We had the same friend group (and taste in Christmas movies) and we quickly became the kind of friends that could count on each other. After college, we supported one another from different area codes spanning from Charleston, SC, Birmingham, AL and Nashville, TN to Raleigh, NC. In ever changing seasons and zip codes, we were each other’s constant for 6 years. When we finally decided to try our relationship outside of the friend zone, we both moved to Greenville, SC to be in the same city again. On November 17, 2019 we said “yes” to forever beneath a charming outdoor chapel with sprawling views of the North Carolina mountains as our back drop. Our wedding ceremony and reception were both held in our new hometown at South Wind Ranch in Travelers Rest, SC. Inspired by the stunning landscape, we leaned in to natural decor with lots of greenery and white wild flowers. We chose minimalistic accents and whimsical hand lettering to give it an artsy take on “boho chic.” Most of our details had special meaning to one or both of us. From a cross alter that was handmade by the father of the bride, and a string quartet that played the groom’s dream of a Star Wars prologue, to a guest book made of an aged bourbon barrel, and a favorite quote engraved on the groom’s wedding gift; we tried not to miss any opportunity to showcase what makes us, us. At the risk of being biased, our fall wedding was the perfect day, right down to the apple cider bar. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our vendor team and are so thankful for the friends and family that gave the South Wind Ranch Celebration Barn a healthy sprinkle of Park/ Edwards magic.
