Zola - buyer beware!

Melissa, on January 13, 2021 at 4:46 PM Posted in Registry 2 9

Watch out! I want to warn brides on the customer service at Zola registry. Once the wedding is done and your registry is completed, the do not care about the products purchased. I have had an extremely frustrating experience with them trying to get replacements or refunds on place settings. It is a shame that family and friends spent money on these and now most are cracked, chipped or in the garbage - this started after 6 months of receiving them!

Since it was outside the return window, they say there is nothing they can do. So be sure to keep your registry to known retailers so you can speak to a real person if there is an issue. And, avoid Canvas Home Shell Bisque 4-Piece Place Setting - they are cool plates, but just do not hold up.

Zola isn’t the manufacturer, so if items broke after delivery it’s not really on them.

Why would they? They’re not the manufacturer

Zola is just the website, not the manufacturer. I'd recommend reaching out to the manufacturer if you have issues with specific products. Many of the items we registered for had at least a 1-year warranty

Echoing all the other comments— if it’s outside the return window, you should reach out directly to the manufacturer. We had a set up Cuisinart mixing bowls that oxidized after only 3 months and Cuisinart sent us a new set after we inquired about how to fix it.

In regards to Zola’s customer service, whenever we were still in the return window timeframe, they’ve been super easy to deal with.

Generally most people go directly to the store websites where the couples are registered and completely bypass the middlemen (Zola, etc).

I don't understand the problem here. Zola isn't the manufacturer, as PP have said, but I also don't know of many places that would offer you a refund 6 months after the fact.
