Who else did not want to do a whole bachelorette weekend?

I see post about everyone bow doing a bachelorette weekend. Am I the only one who just wanted a simple night out. I do not want my bridesmaid to have to be away from families that long. I don’t want to be away from fiancé that long. I don’t want them to spend that much money on me.
Anyone else feel this way ? We are doing a board and brush party. I am painting my wedding welcome sign.

I’m with you on the simple night out. Tho honestly I probably won’t have a bachelorette party. All my guests and most friends have to travel for the wedding and I wouldn’t ask them to travel twice. Tho if I did have one, a simple paint and sip would be what I would want to do also.

I don’t want one either. I really don’t have any friends but my mom insisted and rented a house but its just me, her and my 2 sisters. One is under 21 and I just don’t want or need a weekend away.

Yep I did that! Weekend away was really not my thing lol. One night is definitely good enough for me! My husband did kind of a “weekend” for his, but that’s only because 3 out of his 4 groomsmen are for out of town so like, it would’ve been silly for them to only fly in for 1 day. They stayed Friday through Sunday but Friday night they just had a chill night in at our house, Saturday they went into the city and Sunday they left.

I don't see whats the purpose of it is. Everyone says it's the last day of being single. Well it's not when you got asked to be together or when they asked you do marry them. I've heard to many stories of terrible things that someone can do on those days. Sorry for the vent but it's my honest opinion.

I didn't ! I just felt like it was a lot of time and money and I'd rather have just a day of activities

There’s no way I will, it’s a lot to ask of your bridal party and I’d rather have something low key.

I don't mind the idea of a weekend, but I feel bad making a group coordinate and pay for that. I ended up doing a weekend away with my MOH (we normally do a weekend at each other's place at some point during the year, so it's pretty standard, just using an airbnb this time) and then a night of dinner and bar hopping downtown near our house with all the girls invited to the wedding.

A whole weekend is too much for me. I am definitely a home body who needs to sleep in her own bed haha. I'm going to have a hell of a time the night before the wedding, as I'll be sleeping at my grandma's house so we dknt see each other day of. But I dont want my girls to spend money on me when they already had to buy their dress and they all are going above and beyond to help on the day of, since we wont have a coordinator and it's all on family property. We'll just be doing a girls spa night in, at my sister in law's house, with desserts and wine. I bought all the stuff we need for in home spa day and we'll just chill, and gossip and enjoy time away from our men folk haha.

I had two bachelorettes and I could not imagine them lasting a whole weekend!

As the resident lightweight amongst my friends friends and family (I’m talking gross motor imbalance and slurred speech after two drinks), I don’t think I would have made it! My cousin’s wife just did a bachelorette in March in the Finger Lakes and, y’all, I thought I needed an IV or a liver transplant. We drank Friday to Sunday. I felt like that shriveled dehydrated Spongebob meme on Sunday evening. I swear I was hungover until Tuesday.

The traditional bachelorette party is not my thing. Mine is the weekend before my wedding, so my MOH, my mother, and I are having a relaxing weekend in Cape Cod. We all need it. Haha.

We are are doing a family dinner the night before our wedding. We are getting married in Vegas and thought that a family night out would suffice.

Actually at least around here the traditional bachelorette party was not a whole weekend. Just a one night thing. The weekend is the newer thing.

I'm definitely not judging anyone who wants to do it and if they have the time and means, that's great. All my girls have husbands and kids of their own and are not friends with each other (my sister, hs bff, college bff). Aside from it being awkward, I don't think it's worth the money and time commitment for them and me. I'm not a big drinker for health reasons and I know I'd probably overindulge and regret it. I also hear a lot of maids being secretly resentful because there are 10 bridesmaids and trying to get that many people to agree on time, place, budget, and activities is next to impossible. Someone will likely feel slighted, put upon, or walked all over. I'm sure it isn't always the case, but it happens a lot. I don't think it's worth the headache.

I'm not into the weekend drinkfest either. I'm a bartender and I see it all the time. Someone always goes too far, drinks too much, does something they will regret, gets into an argument with other bridal party members... I don't understand the concept that people need "one last weekend of freedom". If you want to be free, why get married?

I do love the idea of spending a day or two relaxing right before the wedding. After months of stress and planning, going with a couple of friends to get facials, massages, your nails done, having a nice lunch etc. is a great way to unwind before the big day.

I'm personally just too introverted to want to spend a weekend anywhere for anything with the intentions of going out.

By traditional, I meant partying and drinking. I just wanted to relax. Though, around here most people do do weekends. I feel like it’s mostly because I live in a fairly small town and there really isn’t anything special you can do here.

All I wanted (and had) was a fun night out. Dinner and pottery painting!
We had talked about an afternoon whale watching tour but the cards just weren't in our favor for that.

I definitely don’t blame you! Me and my FH hate being away from each other.. what we plan to do is have a combined bachelor/ bachelorette party together! We will be going away for one night to a casino / bar hotel and will have dinner separately but everyone will meet back up to have a good and fun time all together 😊
