Wedding & Moving to new house or apartment

Brett, on May 27, 2023 at 3:31 PM Posted in Registry 0 4

My fiance and I are planning to move around the same time as the wedding.

We are worried about getting to many gifts sent to our house and then needing a UHaul to ship them all to our new house.

Has anyone encountered this?

Does anyone have any other tips for moving at this time?

Can you have gifts sent to a relative's house instead?

We are moving to Dallas and unfortunately have no family there.

If you do not want to receive physical gifts, you could just not register. Most people will then either not get a gift, or will default to giving you cash at the wedding. If anyone asks about the lack of a registry, you can simply tell them that because of your move, you will not have a method of transporting physical gifts.

The only thing you can really do is make sure you give your family and friends the new address and date of nice also if you have a registry change your address on there as soon as you can. If you have paper invites/ RSVP cards make sure the new address is on those 2. Hopefully you won't have too many packages sent to the old address.
