HUSBAND
and I ordered food and a giant beer from a resturant where we had our first date and ate by the river while we admired our new rings together. We drove up to the Orchard, where we would have been getting married to check out all the trees in bloom. Then we got ice cream! We came home and sat outside and talked about the day and how amazing it was... and all the things we would have been doing at each moment of the evening had our day been as planned. My sisters, brother-in-law, nephew and niece stopped over and we had a few drinks and ordered take-out.And when everyone left we had our first dance in the living room.I couldn't have asked for a better day! Despite the differences in what it was versus what it should have been... the result was all the same!
And come July, we'll (hopefully) be celebrating in a much bigger way with all of our loved ones!
So, to all you brides/grooms dealing with all the COVID-19 road blocks amidst your wedding plans, hang in there! It can't be all bad if you don't let it be all bad. I know it's frustrating and my heart goes out to each and every one of you who is affected. I cried so many times as all the new COVID restrictions developed and took away from everything that was suppose to be our big day. And even still, our new big day in July is missing some of the pieces of our original date that we were looking forward to the most.. and we still worry that July isn't far enough away. But, after yesterday, I realize that without all those fun/fancy parts of our wedding, love is the most important and valued feature.
