Our original wedding date was supposed to be April 4th and is now pushed back to October 3rd. The date of the 4th is special to us because our anniversary is June 4th. Since our date for the wedding got messed up we figured why not get married on our actual anniversary. At first quarantine had us butting heads so it didn’t feel like it was going to happen. Also I wanted a backyard ceremony w small luncheon afterwards, but he wanted to go to the courthouse. We compromised and got married at the County Clerk’s office. They aren’t letting people use the chapel so the ceremony would be right at their counter in the office. I had really wanted to do a backyard ceremony to decorate and make it feel special. Im actually surprised how special and meaningful the short 5min ceremony felt to us, even though office made us feel like we were at the DMV lol.
After the Clerks house everyone came over (10people). We had Carnitas, rice and beans and cheesecake and my mother in law made us a wedding cake and margaritas. And I still decorated the back yard a little with my flower garlands.
We have been together a long time and finally on our 14th year of being together we are now officially husband & wife. Despite everything that has happened in the last month im so glad we did it & especially glad our marriage certificate says June 4th.
We also got a crazy idea and went “honeymooning” in Vegas. We had a good time even with all the limitations & some things closed. We were only there for about 2days. The last few days have been perfect
