Two bridal showers?

Kassidy, on June 25, 2019 at 4:43 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 8

I messed up. I forgot to invite 10-12 people from my moms side to my bridal shower. In my defense, it was 4 hours away from most of them and I doubt they would've made the trek, but I feel TERRIBLE! It was my half sister on my dad's side that hosted that one. I had family from both sides there as well as a couple friends. Now my half sister on my mom's side now wants to host a bridal shower for the people I forgot in her hometown which is 20-30 minutes from those people. The problem is it's a 9 hour drive for me.

I would love to see these people and I appreciate the thought, but I just don't know what to do!

Wow, a 9 hour drive just for a shower would be impossible for me! I think it depends on if you can do it.
Has the shower already passed? Is it too late to invite them?

I wouldn't want to drive 9 hrs to attend my own bridal shower.

If she want's to host if for you, and making the trip is doable, then I don't see a problem with it. Buuttttt, I do agree with PPs. If it were me, I wouldn't make a 9 hr trip for it.

Dam 9 hours is a lot unless you made it a trip in general like a long weekend trip and did other things there

I wouldn't drive 9 hours for a shower that only 10-12 people would be invited to.

If you want to make the drive, I'd do it. As long as the guest list doesn't overlap, it's fine to have two. If the list overlaps, I wouldn't do it because it seems rude to ask people to attend two showers & bring gifts multiple times. You could also invite them to the rehearsal dinner instead.

My cousin and his fiance had a Skype shower 12 years ago.
My cousin is from Illinois, and his mom wanted to throw a shower. So they Skyped in from Seattle.
    The details are super fuzzy.
