Timing for Bachelorette Party?

Cynthia, on September 27, 2018 at 9:24 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 10
How early did you have your bachelorette party before the wedding? I’m getting married in May, but there’s an annual wine event in January up in Sonoma, CA that would be SUCH a fun thing to do for my bachelorette. However, I feel that’s too early to throw the party - 4 months before the wedding. How many weeks before your wedding did you/do you plan to have your bachelorette before the wedding?

Hey there Cynthia!! I think the timing of the bachelorette party really depends on whether everyone you want to invite can come. It's my perception that bachelorette parties are held within a month or two of the wedding. You know, the idea that it's one last night out before getting married.

However, if you want to do the Sonoma wine event as your bachelorette shindig, then go for it. The party's supposed to be celebrating you, and if that's what you want to do, then I don't see why you wouldn't do it. Smiley smile You could always do that and then invite the same people out to dinner or over for a game night closer to the wedding.

The one I threw for my friend was 3.5 months out because that’s what worked with everyone’s schedules. It was still great! Mine is about 3 weeks before my wedding.

I was wanting to do mine 2-3 months out but because I recently moved to another state it was hard to justify flying back down there for a party. On a budget yo. So nooooowww my bachelorette party is tomorrow, 2 days before my wedding. Lol.

I know that’s the typical perception. Most of my bridal party has never attended this event, and it’s such a hoot that would be really fun to do. But I kind of like the old fashioned notion that it should be closer to the wedding. Although I do like the idea of going for it, then doing something a little closer to the wedding! Thank you!

My bridesmaids are a little spread out across the country, and I think having them fly out too close together might be a challenge. Just wanted to get input on if it’s TOO far out, but if you’ve done one that was that far out and it went well, maybe I’ll look further into it to see if it’s feasible. Thanks!!

Girl, I feel you!! Budgeting is a challenge - I can’t imagine how much more difficult it would be throwing in moving to another state! At least you have a day to recover before the wedding! 😊

I don't think it's too early! Especially because you want to go to the specific event. My bachelorette party is in the beginning of May, our wedding is at the end of July.

You can have your party whenever works best for your guys, especially if there is a specific event you're looking forward to like the wine event.

These days people have so much going on and not everyone is in the same location and it can be hard to get everyone together so you do it when you can.

The important thing is getting together and having fun!

I don't think it's too early if you want to go to that event. Mine was 2.5 months before my wedding, but I once threw a bach party almost four months out cause I was leaving for grad school in a few weeks and that was the weekend that worked for everyone.
