Hello lovely brides!!

So I know that etiquete states that you should send a Thank You note as soon as you get the gift, and I managed to do that through all the showers and as things were sent to us off our registry. But then our wedding came, and went. And FH had family from South America stay with us for November 14th-December 28th (Our wedding was December 2nd for reference) And I still haven’t sent out thank you notes for the gifts we received at the wedding 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
Today has felt like the first day we can breathe and has really been the first day that my husband and I have been alone since November 14th. Right after the wedding we had our honeymoon, then we jumped right back into work, then Christmas and New Years, plus hosting 5 people who don’t speak English and want to go out every night after we get off work, plus we got my husband his first puppy as a belated Christmas gift 😅😅 Needless to say, we’re exhausted.
So, guess what I’m doing all evening while hubs plays with our new pup! 😂 Finishing writing the thank you notes!
Please make me feel better! Let me know I’m not the only one who hasn’t finished sending out their thank you notes.
Also, please enjoy this picture of the newest member of our Ramirez clan! Meet Gunner!cfb_1344109.jpg

SOOO Cute! Your timing is perfectly fine. I went to a wedding and never even received a thank you note, so you're good on getting them out a month later.

OMGGG he is SSOSOO cute!! congrats on your new addition!

don't feel bad with the Thank you cards. i've sent out about half - have more written up (need stamps) and still have others to write out on the list *face palm*- i would say within a few months is acceptable!

I think you're fine. I've been to weddings and gave a gift and never received a thank you. I also went to a wedding in July and we didn't get a thank you until November. I'm happy if I get one at all I think that's how most people feel.

If it makes you feel better, I got married in may, and have only sent about 25% of our thank you notes. I’m mortified I haven’t done more, but like you our life has been absolutely chaos and full of unfortunate events since our wedding. So dealing with everything else took front seat. Right now I’m just firmly believing all the people who say you have one year to get them done! But really my goal is the end of this month.

The last wedding I went to I received the thank you card about 5 months after the wedding and I was just so happy to get their card and read their message to me that I didn’t even think about the timing of it all! Obviously sooner is better but people understand that you’re newlyweds and things can be hectic!

I'm under the impression that you have 3 months. We just received a thank you for a wedding 2 months ago.

Some people think you have up to a year. I know someone who spent their maternity leave doing wedding thank yous and sent them out a year after the wedding.
Which I wouldn't recommend... I started to believe that Bed Bath and Beyond took my money but never shipped the gifts

Smiley heart Smiley heart once we buy a house we are going to adopt a furry friend! i can't wait Smiley love

i mailed out 14 thank you cards yesterday. roughly 25 more to go! i find if you do a couple a day and mail them at the end of the week it makes it a bit easier to handle. not as much pressure lol

I've always heard this, too so this prompted me to look it up today. I always though a year was a crazy long time, and also get mine out as soon as I can. And apparently, it's incorrect, per Anna Post, Emily Post's great, great granddaughter, who admits she was behind on sending her letters out as well! Smiley xd

I guess it's 3 months. I'll be filling mine out on the way to our honeymoon (that'll be a fun-filled 14-hour drive! Smiley xd )

I've heard that the etiquette guidelines are that you have a few months after the wedding to send thank yous. I think people understand that there is a lot of hectic stuff that comes with weddings and newlywed life. Your wedding was only like 5 weeks ago! You're totally fine Smiley smile

PS Gunner is SO freaking cute!!!

I don't have anything to say except PUPPY!!!!!

No but really, I have never once given someone a gift & been offended when they didn't send a thank you note right away, if at all. No worries!
