Surprise bachelorette or check in with bride

Patty, on November 13, 2019 at 8:48 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 18
Hi ladies, so my bride told us she wants to do vegas for her bachelorette, but after researching room rates, it’s suuuuper expensive to stay on the strip. Is it lame to stay slightly off the strip for more than half the price? Should i ask the bride her thoughts or not bother her with the details of the bachelorette party

If you guys can’t afford it, you can’t afford it. I would ask her opinion and if she wants to food the bill then she can, if not tell her you will be booking a different room.

Off the strip can have its perks and be special. You could ask her if she wants to be 100% surprised or wants some clues, etc.

Is Vegas what she ask and that’s what you’re giving her. If you can’t afford the strip then you can’t afford it. If you think she’ll be mad or she’s a picky one maybe run it by her but I think you should keep it all a surprise. In the end is more important the activities you do while there then the room itself.

I think it'd be fine to stay off the strip

I am having my bachelorette in Vegas as well but I do not expect my maid of honor to pay for it. Every girl is in charge of their portion for the weekend. MOH sent an email to everyone invited stating the weekend we are going and an estimate of how much it will cost for the weekend per girl, which is about $100 total for the two nights. That is also four girls to a room(sharing beds) if one of the girls wants to have a bed to themselves then they pay more. Or if they can’t afford it, unfortunately they can’t attend or they get a room of their own, if they can find it cheaper elsewhere. She also included an estimated amount needed for the nice dinner we are going to have as well as an estimate for the activity. Vegas isn’t cheap but it’s fun and definitely an experience worth paying for. Off the strip is ok but remember you will be paying extra in taxi or Uber rides to the strip which can add up, so keep that in mind.

Where are you staying for that price? We have 6 ladies but are trying to have a connecting room so we aren’t separated. It’s looking to be about 350 per person. Just for hotel for 3 nights.

Also, I’ve been like 10 times to Vegas so it’s really hard for me to want to spend 500+ When I’ve gone for much cheaper

What about renting an Airbnb off the strip? One night you could have a chef come in and cook for you all instead of going out to eat. Always seems cheaper to rent one than a hotel room on the strip. Bonus if it has a pool!

We haven’t booked anything yet but have found lots of options in that range. I live 3 hrs from Vegas and I have been to many times to count. Lol The pricing might be high due to the time/dates you are going. That plays a big role in hotel pricing. There might be something else going on in Vegas at your time which is driving the prices up. I’m going the end of February 2020. Look up OYO hotel. It’s the old hooters hotel. It is right off the strip and right across from mgm or hard rock can’t quite remember but They have low prices and you wouldn’t need a taxi or anything to access the strip. Or mgm signature, they have awesome rooms and they aren’t located on the strip but have a tunnel type walk way connected to mgm. Just some suggestions or see if you can find a better date tat works and is cheaper. Good luck.

We are doing Vegas for my bachelorette and I have to admit, I would be disappointed if we went off strip. Being on the strip is such an experience in itself.

In my experience, most hotels won't guarantee a conjoining room/rooms next to each other if it's a busy weekend.

Maybe it's the weekend you've picked? I've always had super good luck with cheaper rooms at the Tropicana, Luxor, Excalibur (basically the far south end of the strip) because they're not super prime location but still walkable to everything. There's also a Hampton Inn on Tropicana Avenue just off the strip that has a super nice bar/pool and has a shuttle that runs back and forth from the strip multiple times per day. Definitely something to think about!

Thanks for the advice! We are staying a 12 minute walk from the strip, so it’s basically the strip! Lol I think my bride would be more disappointed if two girls couldn’t go due to how outrageous the cost is of doing a Vegas trip is! Thank you though

Unfortunately no, it’s not The Weekend (plus that’s the only weekend that everyone can get together) it’s just the cost of looking for connecting rooms so all girls can enjoy each other’s company, not split up. They def have cheap rooms everywhere but we have about 6 girls going and not all hotels have connections rooms with multiple beds

Ooooh ok. Yeah most hotels won't guarantee adjoining rooms at all.

There are a few, but it’s so pricey! Luckily I found a place just an 11 minute walk from the strip

My sisters and cousins planned a bach party for my in Vegas, we went in November (the dates were the only pieces of info I knew). My sister and I flew in and my cousins drove in earlier, they booked two suites at the hardrock hotel that were adjoining by the time I arrived everything was decorated, drinks were cold and we were ready to go! We chose November because its an off season in Vegas, rooms and flights were very affordable. Our first night we spent in downtown Vegas ziplining and bar hopping, we ended up in a club and got table service since it was not to full, we also had free drinks and shots since we were a group of girls partying. 2nd day we had lunch off the strip and at night went club hopping to first a strip club and then 2 clubs after that. My sister found a promoter who set this all up for us, we even had a party bus take us to each of our destinations. I know it sounds crazy and expensive but we were able to take advantage of the bach party perk at many places and because it was a down season a lot of places would give females free drinks all night with their admission. It was only 6 of us and it was such a fun time! Of course we would always do a little pre party in the room and take a drink with us when we left to help keep that cost low. If you do good research you'll find so many places that offer really inexpensive fun! Good Luck!!!

Also what about renting a house in Vegas off strip and you can probably find one with a pool, you can go out one night and stay in and have fun the other night(s). I've done this many times and with Uber/Lyft you can get to and from the strip quickly.

You can inquire about a bride's preferences. But do not feel you need to overspend to give a party to her specifications. In the end, you folks are planning this as a gift from friends. You decide the budget and activities, not bride. Just tell her what you can afford to do, are interested in doing, or have time to do. That is your gift. She does not get to demand more.
