Stress and feeling sick? Traveling? Life changes

Ceelie , on September 17, 2019 at 9:07 AM Posted in Married Life 0 27

So my hubby and I just got back from our honeymoon on Sunday morning (we had an overnight flight) and we went to Maui, HI. It was soo much fun, we spent a week on the island and I wouldn't trade it for anything else!! However, over the past several weeks I have been feeling so blah and can't figure out why. It goes in phases, some days I feel okay ish, other days I feel so fatigued and sick almost. This mostly started around just days leading up to the wedding. We waited a week after the wedding to go on our honeymoon, and for some reason ever since we got back I have had lots of nausea, headache, body ache and major fatigue. Most people have been telling me it's from all the traveling and how my body isn't used to being in a different environment and out of my routine. My hubby said "you've had a lot of life changes in the course of a month. You got married, started school, moved out, went on a honeymoon". So it makes sense when he puts it that way. I get stressed out sooo easily. I know most people will want to say "go talk to a doctor" haha but I really just want to know if this is something anyone else has experienced? I've just never really gotten sick from traveling I guess, so it made me nervous at first but I'm hoping everything will subside in a few days once I settle in more and get back to my normal routine? Has anyone else dealt with this?

The only time I've really ever experienced what your feeling is when I was pregnant. I have three kids for reference lol.

I would take one of those early pregnancy tests just to rule it out. I’ve never felt that way just from stress but everyone’s body is different so it could be just stress.

I agree.... We struggled with infertility for years. When I finally got pregnant, I was convinced I had Lyme's Disease.... I was exhausted, achy, etc. I had to travel for business and for the only time in my life I was SO airsick. I actually saw my GP for a Lyme's test (we lived in the Northeast at the time) weeks before I went to my long-time OBGYN who'd been working with us on fertility.... Good luck!

Could be stress especially if it started before the wedding (if I remember right, you're LDS so no premarital sex to cause a pregnancy before the wedding date, right?)
It could also be pregnancy following stress and your body adjusting. I was so exhausted the entire first trimester I'm impressed I was able to function at work. I'd pretty much come home from work, eat a quick supper and be asleep by 8:30! Lol
If you do decide to take a pregnancy test, look for the ones with pink dyes. They're less likely to have evaporation lines and most woman agree can give more accurate results.

I don’t know, I think it could just be stress. I’ve had those problems before and I can’t have kids so I don’t think it’s always a sign of pregancy. As your husband said, you went through a lot of life changes all recently. Your body could just be at its limit. You should see a doctor just to be safe, they would probably have you take a pregnancy test there anyway.

My first thought as well. I think you should at least check especially if you missed your period and you're not on birth control. I hope you feel better love.

I agree with pps. However, I also think it might just be stress. I am quite sensitive when it comes to stress and when I am in stressful/eventful phases I often get sick-ish right after. I usually just need two or three days of not having to do anything. I hope you are feeling better soon!

I'm with PP's that it sounds just like early pregnancy symptoms however, traveling and eating odd foods can throw you off also. Fatigue and body aches could be from all the traveling and time zone changes and the stomach issues could be from eating new/different foods or breaking your eating routine. Take a pregnancy test and get back into your normal routine.

Yeah I'm good!! I skipped the sugar pill this month so I wouldn't have a period on my wedding day, and I'm on the pill so I'm fine lol. I probably need a couple days of extra rest, that flight back home really took a toll on me!

Yeah the time was behind by 4 hours so that threw me way off haha. Traveling can definitely take a toll, so I'll try and get some extra rest and just relax this week! Smiley smile

Yeah, the pregnancy test is mainly for peace of mind. I'm on the pill and skipped the sugar pill this month so I think maybe my body is just not used to these continuing hormones when I should've gotten my period. And yeah the stress can do a lot to your body!! Thank you for the adviceSmiley shame
