Spill Your Proposal Details!

This is truly a magical proposal story. So romantic!

My FH took me to a super fancy restaurant two days before my birthday and he popped the question right after dessert. Not the most original idea in the world, but it was so sweet and exciting! He did tell me later that he wanted to pop the question a few months earlier, but he didn't have the ring yet. When we first started talking, we met up for drinks one night at our favorite bar. The song "Born Under Punches" by Talking Heads came on the jukebox and I started singing along to it, which he thought was cute, so he leaned in and kissed me. So, we had our very first kiss with that song playing in the background. Last year, he bought us tickets to see David Byrne (the lead singer of Talking Heads) and he actually played that song at the show. FH said he would have dropped to one knee during that song if he had the ring in that moment. It would have been the perfect moment to propose, but hey... I'm still happy with how it went down and either way it ends in me marrying the man of my dreams.

We went to our favorite aquarium and he proposed in front of the moon jellyfish tank. It was just the two of us even in the busy aquarium. Then we went and had dinner at a restaurant near by. Nothing super fancy, but we were both living paycheck to paycheck at the time. It was still very thoughtful.

Here's my story: It was just after midnight, we were watching Rush Hour. My hair was piled on top of my head in a messy bun; I was wearing fleece zebra print pajamas. Suddenly, he jumps up and runs off into the bedroom. I realized he was digging in the closet, which I had just organized. He wouldn't let me in. He came back to living room, slid the coffee table out of the way and got down on both knees (too shaky to balance on one). He whipped out this little black ring box and ended up not being able to speak. I said yes anyway.

Wow your proposal sounds so romantic.
It was a typical Friday night in for us. I went for a shower. came out of the shower and started painting my toe nails - I am not fully dressed fyi. Then he tells me to come look out the window from our room into the yard. And I'm like... Why? I'm kind of in the middle of painting my toes... He's like will you just come look at this please come on come on hurry. I mean god what is the hurry?! Then I go look and see he has candles spelling out I love you, marry me? And I just cry and then he gets on one knee and proposed and then I said "yes but I wish you proposed when I had pants on" and then he laughed and handed me my pants to wear. True story. So when I retell this to people I usually skip the part where I am not wearing pants ahaha. Turns out he was rushing me because the candles were starting to blow out. Sort of not romantic but yet very memorable ahaha. We get a good laugh about it.

Fh and have been together for 9 1/2 years so of course we talked about getting married and such. I always thought I knew how he would propose but I was wrong.

We are HUGH La King hockey fans and it was on September 18, 2017 (Tuesday) we were at a pre-season La kings vs Az coyotes in phx az (where we live) most of my main family was there. Such as mom, step dad, nephew sister and brother in law. As the first period ends we always go down to the ice to get pictures by the ice so this was normal. My sister say “ you two stay down there and let me get some pictures for you” She was taking for ever and I was getting impatient lol. He looks to me and stars saying all the lovey dovey stuff and get on one knee and pops the question. 😍

funny back story so don’t tell him lol. I figured most of the details before he proposed. I work for a credit card company and we have a cool alert that tells you when a new account is open. So one sat Morning In July I get a txt message about new account being open ( me not thinking) I open the message and it say new account from Kay’s in his name. he was already acting weird a few weeks prior. I go to my sis and what the hell Is going on and she doesn’t tell me much but pretty much confirms what I already knew lol. To this day he has no idea that I knew he was going to propose. I’m so surprised how he kept everything a secret lol. Luckily it was still a surprise because I had no clue on what day he was proposing maybe a few year down the road I will tell him but right now I like it as my own little secret 😁

My FH proposed at the end of a foam glow 5k. He also pissed me off by purposely leaving me as soon as we passed the start line. I stayed behind with my mother and best friend who wanted to alternate between light jogging/walking. He literally sprinted with his friends and I was so upset because he promised he wouldn’t leave me, but did anyways. I was literally in the middle of complaining about him to my best friend as we crossed the finish line and he was there ready to propose. I never thought I would look like a sweaty hot cherry tomato when I got proposed to, but it ended up being really sweet. I asked him why he purposely made me mad at he said it wouldn’t be authentic if I wasn’t mad at him for something haha. Love that guy.

I been with my fiance for 13 years. It's a funny story actually lol. Well on our 3rd anniversary he ask me to marry him (we were both drunk) i told him no cause it wasn't the right time for us. Then on our 8th anniversary, he ask me while we were taking out the garbage lol. I said no. I wanted us to wait a couple more years so May/2017 we decided to go out to a fancy restaurant. We were enjoying dinner and drinks till the waiter ask if we wanted him to take a picture of us. I said sure but i have to use the bathroom first. So when got out, i saw my fiance on his knees in front of strangers asking me to marry him while the waiter was recording us! I was so surprised that i i just shook my head yes while crying.

He proposed to me on Christmas morning, with all our kids surrounding us, with me in my new onsie butt-flap Christmas pj's. It was perfect. I am absolutely obsessed with Christmas. I think it's the most wonderful, magical time of the year. We had been talking about getting married and I knew that he was having a ring made for me-It's his great grandmother's sapphire put into a new band with 2 diamonds on the side. Well one day, a week or so before Christmas, he comes back from the jewelers with a very pretty, beautifully wrapped box. So of course I'm thinking-that's my ring Lol After a week and a half of him constantly moving and hiding the gift around, Christmas morning finally comes. Like I said, I'm wearing my new Christmas pj's, (pj's are my absolute favorite thing to wear in the winter) and he FINALLY gives me the box. I'm all excited. I opened it up and there was a beautiful opal necklace and earring set. Not what I was expecting Lol Well he rocks back like he's about to get up and pulls out a ring box and proposes. The first words out of my mouth were "Oh my God you tricked me you son of a b****" He laughed, I said yes and we both laughed. We love telling that story. Not the most romantic response but it was memorable. Lol I love that he managed to make Christmas even more special to me

My love and I were signed up for a 5K race on Oahu. The day before the race, I fell and banged my head against some boulders while rock climbing at a waterfall. I cut my face deeply and received multiple trams to both sides of my head. My boyfriend (not engaged yet) had to rush me down the mountain and to the emergency room. The doctors told me I could not run the next day. My man could have run the race, but chose to walk the whole thing with me holding my hand so he could make sure I was ok. When we crossed the finish line, he got down on his knee and prosed. I found out later that he had paid someone at the finish line to video the proposal. At the awards ceremony later, we heard the winner's finish time and there was no doubt... my fiance' would have beat that time. (We know his running pace because he trains and competes in Ironman races internationally.) He gave up the medal to walk with me and keep me safe through the course.

Will! first we sat down and talked about it. Then about a couple of days ago we were in the bathroom talking and he just asks me... I smile really bit and say yes.... That's about it.

My love planned a wonderful date for us during the holiday season at Disneyland and at the end of the night he surprised me with reservations at the restaurant where we had our first date and the gentleman who played the piano on our first date was playing on the stage. And after a very sweet speech and a toast he popped the question ♥️

My FH proposed in our kitchen after we 😏. Hahaha! I said "you better not be f'ing kidding." It was really awkward, funny and totally us. I couldn't cry. I can cry at a folgers commercial but not then. He knew that if he proposed in public I would hate him. I was in complete and utter shock. I had no idea what was happening. He always says I never said yes. 🙄

I had just dropped my kids off to spend the summer with their dad. So it was the first morning we had kid free. We’d been snuggling all AM and he asked what I wanted for breakfast. I told him it was after 11 and actually would really enjoy some chili dogs. I’m not used to anyone doing anything for me so I was complaining loudly to him from the bedroom that I’d put my own condiments on them and he just insisted on doing it himself. So he brought me the dogs then hit his knee. I was so surprised. He spent the whole day pampering me and made dinner too. Not sure how I wound up with such a sweetie but I love him.

It was another blizzard day here in PA. Jan 18, 19; We had planned for a nice dinner and massages but because of the weather both places had canceled on us, so around 7 that night we went to a local park to do our nerdy thing - Pokémon go and enjoy the snow a bit. We were walking through the park and he stopped talking and went down on one knee, it wasn’t hoe he wanted the engagement to go but it was perfect for us and makes it a great story ❤️
