Social Security offices is not opening any time so Can't do name change it's sad.

the issue is the pandemic.

I recently sent all my original documents in for my name change. I got it all back in one envelope. It took about a week. We only had one certified copy of our marriage license too.

I got 5 certified copies of our marriage certificate. I knew I would need to have a few. Get a few more certified copies to have on hand. Also I didn't have to mail my license. I just sent them marriage license. The 800 number I really dislike talking with them because what they say you need is more than what I needed to send. Talk with your local office. I had to change my son's name and they sent me back my certified copy of his name change.

If you want to wait then wait. We don't know how long they will keep offices closed. I didn't want to wait because of my job and I waited almost 7 years to have my hubbys last name. Lol.
