We both snore--I think he's lying about me though lol--and the dog snores like an adult human. It honestly doesnt keep me awake at all. I think I'm just immune to it after growing up being able to hear my dad snoring from down the hall anyway.

I'm apparently the snorer in our relationship (thanks allergies lol). My dad and brother both snore TERRIBLY and I know my mom usually sleeps with ear plugs in. That's the only thing that's worked for her.

My husband sleeps with a mouth guard that repositions his airways. His bff is a dentist. However, sometimes when he drinks, the grill doesn't matter, and I nudge him into a side position. Lol.

My FH only snores when he sleeps on his back. So if it's keeping me awake, I can nudge him and he'll roll over. But it's really not bad.

My husband tries to sleep on his belly or side to try to snore less - that helped

FH doesn't snore, I do only when I'm sick (and I snore BAD to the point where I'll wake myself up.) FH sleeps like a rock so the snoring doesn't bother him.

Our dog however does snore like a grown man, I've gotten used to it so it doesn't bother me much, but melatonin does help me when I'm feeling overstimulated by sounds (FH has to sleep with the TV on, and will often watch videos on his phone with the volume up over the TV so I get overwhelmed by all the different sounds)

Has he gone to a sleep clinic to see if he has sleep apnea? That could explain why he's tired even though he's sleeping He might need a bi-pap machine. My best friend uses one though she was very reluctant at first, but it has helped her sleep better. The machine is noisy too, but more like white noise, not as bad as snoring lol.

I'd recommend either a mouth guard like Michelle suggested, or a CPAP. I think it's important to remember that snoring is really hard on the person's heart over time. So clear (or mostly clear) breathing will help them in the long run. I convinced him to get a CPAP, because the state of him choking himself while sleeping not only kept me awake, but was really stressful as the witness. lol There are many different kinds of CPAPs and face pieces, so it's not too hard to find one that will work. They also swivel easily, so he can sleep on either side or his back.

Alternatively, as others have said, if we're taking a nap (thus no CPAP), I just nudge him to sleep on the one side where he snores the least. It's passable for a nap. But obviously, you can't expect him to sleep on his shoulder all night. Ouch.

Thanks for the advice ladies! He says he gags too easily to have a mouthguard in so I think I'll just have to talk to him about seeing his dr. Neither of us get enough sleep as he wakes himself up too!

I forced him to get tested for sleep apnea, which he had, and now he uses a C-pap machine. No more snoring for him.

Not only do I have a snorer, I also have two adorable bulldogs who snore like grown men! 🤦🏼‍♀️
Needless to say, I haven’t had a full nights sleep since we moved in together

Ah yes, like a lumberjack. We also have a bulldog so every night is like I am in a saw mill.

FH has sleep apnea which we regulate by diet/exercise/stress management. We sleep with a white noise machine which helps drown him out tremendously on the nights where our walls are rumbling.

We both snore from time to time but thankfully it's not a big issue. I need my beauty sleep!

I totally can relate. My husband snores and has sleep apnea and need to use his CPAP every night. The problem is that he doesn’t like to wear it every night. Married for over a year now and I still can’t sleep through the snoring. I am a light sleeper. I actually slept in a different room last night 😩. I hope I get used to it soon or he agrees to wear it every night!!

Solidarity!!! Glad I’m not alone. He actually wanted me to sleep with it to see how uncomfortable it is. But health comes first before comfort!!!

I’m the snorer in my relationship. 😆 I have a humidifier by my bed which helps. I also sleep with two pillows (one is a fabulous full hotel type pillow from Standard Textile—Chamberloft). I’ve tried nose snore strips, don’t work for me. The strip that keeps your mouth closed is scary and can’t be used if congested but I could try that again.
