Shutterfly professional flush mount photo album thoughts?

Hermione, on August 29, 2020 at 5:07 PM Posted in Married Life 0 12
Hey,

My husband and I got married Valentine's day this year. I have been reluctant to ask this question after we got married because this forum was full of people canceling their wedding. I also decided not to do a bam post for this reason as well. It was mid-late March when we got back...
Nothing I can say will make covid wedding planning any less crazy stressful... and regular wedding planning already was. I am so sorry to the brides, grooms and future spouses that are going through that.
So I am looking for reviews on shutterfly professional flush mount photo album. They made it and all that's left is review and order.

As MOB, I made a flush mount album on Shutterfly for daughter's wedding. Since I had never done it before, I initially tried the option where they designed it, but there were so many things I would have preferred to be different from what they chose that I started from scratch and designed it myself and was much happier with the layout. The book was ~9x13" and I think it had like 80 pages (daughter's photographer gave her 1100+ fully edited pictures, so there was A LOT to choose from...). When the book arrived the pages weren't "seated" perfectly in the binding, so they were a little crooked, and I was really bummed. I called customer service and they apologized profusely and redid it, and told me to keep the first book. The replacement book the binding was perfect, but the intensity of the color printing was a bit darker than it was in the first book -- and I preferred the first printing.... I ended up giving the first book to daughter (she already had a gorgeous professional album created by her photographer, but I didn't know what else to do with it). As the parent, either of the two Shutterfly books are fine for my needs, but if I were a bride and it was my only album I probably wouldn't be 100% happy.... Sorry I can't say my products were awesome (but, customer service was great and with discounts the price was pretty reasonable). Good luck!

In general, I wasn't feeling shutterfly's photo quality of all products. My favorite printing service is printique. I absolutely loved all the products I've ordered from them.

Which one did you order? The premium leather photo book or the flush mount album?

I did the more expensive option, not sure which one that is. I was very happy with my book. I did the 12x12 and designed my own. I just did one photo per page.Shutterfly professional flush mount photo album thoughts? 1

I waited for free additional pages, but that promotion didn’t apply. I have no issues with my book(quality or color) as PP said she had. I did see one poster did the cheaper version with the upgrades, like cover and lay flat pages etc, and hers was just as nice as mine for half the price.

We've gotten all our stuff from Shutterfly, and we've been very happy.

We designed our own album. One word of warning - don't try to upload all your pictures at once, it'll freeze your computer. It can upload about 80 at once, I think?

Please do a BAM! If gives us hope and we love seeing weddings!!

Side note: I did my bridal portraits album through Mpix, lay flat hardcover upgraded to heavier weight stock. Loved it. About like Shutterfly and similar cost.

We made our own through Shutterfly and have been very happy. We have actually made several photo books through them and have always been very pleased.

Also, I agree with Leanne! Let’s see that BAM post! Many brides love seeing them as inspiration.

It's been well over a year, so I don't remember the specifics. It's not a leather cover -- it's a photo cover similar to pp Gen's. The book has lay-flat pages. It's 11X14" (I measured it to confirm) and 88 full pages of pictures (44 double-sided pages). As I remember, with discounts, it was in the $150-175 range. Also, I agree with the pp who mentioned it being a bit challenging (and very time consuming) to upload a large number of photos. For the money, it's good, but not anywhere close to daughter's professional flush mount leather album; however, that probably cost more in the $600-800+ range (it was part of daughter's photographer's package so I don't know the exact cost). That album is absolutely stunning. Another alternative is Artifact Uprising, I have a friend who LOVES the album she created there.

I just went back and checked the emails from daughter's photographer and he used a company called Adorapro for her professional album. They have a website, so it might be another option to consider. Like I said, her book is stunning, but the photographer also designed it. I believe it is around 100 pages.
