How soon before a shower do you send invitations?

We settled on August 23rd for the shower date.
I am a part of a bridal party hosting a shower for the bride. We are having it in a backyard of one of the bridal party members houses.

I'd send them about 1-1.5 months in advance!

I agree with the above! I had 3 showers, and the invites for all of them except one were sent at least a month before.

My MOH sent out my bridal shower invites end of January and my bridal shower isn't until April 18th.. I don't think she knew it was too early, but it worked out because a lot of people rsvpd already.
