Security System

Chelsea, on September 14, 2020 at 9:44 PM Posted in Registry 0 11

I have a question concerning a registry gift.

I'm sending my Save the Dates out next month, so I'm trying to make sure I have everything on my wedding website looking polished.

We will be moving into a townhouse for at least the first year, and FH is a police officer. He works swing shifts, so he's on nights at least two weeks each month. It's a nice neighborhood, but I know that doesn't rule out any suspicious activity. For this reason, I really want to invest in a security system.

I've heard a lot of friends with apartments and townhouses rave about SimpliSafe. I noticed I can buy some of their bundles on Amazon. Since I'm registering on Amazon, I was wondering if this is an "okay" item?

I know there can be weird taboos surrounding certain things, so I wanted to make sure it doesn't go against any etiquette. The entire set is around $200, but I can add individual pieces to break it up as well.

I don't see why that would be taboo. I think the gifts that raise eyebrows are things that are either ridiculously expensive (like a $1000 tv or something) or person items, like shoes, purses, or other clothing items for either the bride or groom, since registries are usually for the couple's home.

I don’t see why not ! It’s something you want or need and it can be added to a registry, so I’d just do it

That shouldn't be too bad. Amazon has a feature called group gift where you can turn that on for higher priced items and allow multiple people to pitch in. That might be easier than breaking up the security system.

I would definitely put it on the registry! I should have done that with another nest I want. Great idea! I barely put anything on ours since we bought our home last September. Since we aren't having friends attend our Sunday wedding a lot of friends haven't bought us anything.

Totally fine and we had something similar on our registry. It’s not a glamorous gift so we didn’t expect anyone to buy it, we mainly added it to use the completion discount to buy it ourselves. 😂

Sounds fine to me. I've seen plenty of people put security systems on their wedding registries before. I'd say go for it!

We had a TON of random stuff on our Amazon Registry haha and it all went over totally fine! We had smart home accessories (including the Ring Security System), things like new doorknobs/light fixtures/etc. because we are renovating, an accessory for our chicken coop, camping pillows, a camping hammock, a travel back for our dog! It all was totally fine.

Hi there! No one in their right mind would ever save money on their own safety, as I believe. So I think investing in security systems is the best thing you can do for yourself. I thus acquired an excellent ajax security system, which has served me faithfully for a couple of years. I think that you should read more information on the subject, if you have never heard of this system. What kind of system do you think all my friends are installing now that they've seen mine? The same one, of course.
