Same dress for engagement pics and bridal shower?

Ashleigh, on April 2, 2021 at 7:10 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 13
Is it okay to wear the same dress for engagement pics/save the date and the bridal shower? The dress is too beautiful and expensive to just wear for pictures...

Yes. No one would (or should) say anything negative. You could even put up pictures of the engagement at the bridal shower.

Most brides wear a regular outfit from their closet to the bridal shower and rehearsal dinner. It's only in the current social media era/culture that brides have elaborate fancy white dresses for showers and rehearsal.

Most people won't connect the two (your engagement pictures and the outfit worn again) so they won't view it negatively. Wear what you love and are comfy in.

There is no reason you cannot wear the same dress in multiple photos. Have fun with it, and change out the mood with the accessories or your hair style. A lot of people plan to send wedding pics as thank yous, not realizing that often you get as many as 3/4 of your gifts sent before the wedding, or from showers, and need your thank you cards then.
Very different photos from the same shoot, though same dress, some 2-3 different ones for thank you notes, different from those for Saves , can take care of a lot of your stationery early on. And the Thank you note for your shower gifts would be in the same dress. How nice, to remember that day!

Why not? It’s not likely that anyone will notice anyway.

I think it is totally fine. I would just be careful eating in it if you have bridal shower first.

You can always make it look a little different with accessories and hair/make up.

Hi Ashleigh: why not? Unless a state law requires 2 different dresses LOL.

Agree with everyone else: I don’t think anyone will notice.

Thank you ladies so much! My MOH/best friend was telling me that she wouldn’t rewear the dress, but I think it’s smart and a good idea! I appreciate you all!!

Absolutely, go for it! I'm not a fan of dresses, so I was in jeans and a tank top for our engagement shoot. We had 2 locations with 2 outfits, but my only change was the tank top. My bridal shower was this past Saturday (4.3.2021) and I wore jeans and one of the tank tops from our engagement shoot. That outfit also happens to be one that I wear fairly often when I'm on the worship band at my church, so people have seen me in exactly that outfit loads of times already. If you love that dress and want to "get your money's worth" out of it, I see absolutely no problem with wearing it again.
