Rehearsal Dinner

Gabby, on October 13, 2019 at 9:11 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 14
How fancy does a rehearsal dinner need to be? I'm thinking about doing it in the backyard of the air bnb we will rent. It will only be family and a handful or close friends, about 25 people. I thought about getting fazolis catering or doing a bbq.

Honestly, I've learned people won't care what's served at a rehearsal dinner so long as their fed. I've been to rehearsal dinners that have had pizza, some were BBQs, and some were nice sit down dinners.

Casual is fine. However, be sure to double-check with your Airbnb; many do not allow parties/group events. You could also consider a pizza parlor with a private party room or something similar.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad this doesn't have to be anything fancy. I couldn't imagine paying another $1000+ for this dinner.

It doesn't have to be fancy at all! It's really just a way to thank your bridal party and out of town guests for coming to the rehearsal, no rules on fanciness. We're thinking of either doing Mexican food or going to a sports bar and doing apps and open bar.

I don't think it needs to be fancy at all! Ours was more laid back, at a mexican restaurant. Our wedding was fancy so we didn't want the rehearsal dinner to be super fancy too.

Not fancy or as fancy as you want it. Everything from a BBQ to pizza joint to five star restaurant is acceptable. The most important part of it is free food and good company.

We met the parents of a couple getting married at our venue when we went there to sign our contract and they were complimenting the venue on making wood fired pizzas the night before for the rehearsal dinner. It can be as formal or as casual as you'd like. If enough of your wedding party/those involved are local you can even make it a potluck to keep costs down. My only suggestion would be to make sure the rehearsal dinner food isn't too similar to the reception dinner food. A BBQ sounds awesome!

A rehearsal dinner is completely up to you! You can do whatever you're comfortable with and make it as formal or informal as you'd like. I say go for it, a bbq at your Air BNB sounds like so much fun! And you want to be relaxed as it's the night before your wedding.
