Rehearsal dinner stress

Emily, on February 5, 2020 at 1:38 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7
Hey y’all-

So was just thinking about our rehearsal dinner. Our venue allows a rehearsal dinner the night before ONLY IF they don’t book an event the night before. And they would only let us know if we can have the rehearsal dinner or not 30 days before the wedding

We are getting married September 12 and I know September is a popular month in Missouri. Would you chance it and wait to see if you can have the rehearsal there and if not, try to put something together 30 days before the wedding?

Would you save yourself stress and start looking at other places to hold it? What would you do?

I'd probably just book another location.

On one hand I think 30 days is enough time but on another ... I would probably look into close by options anyway in case

I would look into other options. There's a wedding at our venue the day before ours, so we won't be having the rehearsal there. Not a huge deal considering the ceremony will still work the same way in terms of when each person walks down, it'll just be in a different setting Smiley smile

I would book a backup location.

Can you do your rehearsal there and then the rehearsal dinner elsewhere? The last two weddings I’ve been in had rehearsals the morning the day before the wedding with a rehearsal dinner that evening.

Is this rehearsal dinner space included in your fee or do you pay extra? I would at least plan or book a backup. You don't need that stress! Make sure your backup allows you to cancel within 30 days, then ask for 31 days to cancel!

I am getting married in April and have this same issue. As of right now there is no wedding on the Friday before my wedding, so I am planning on doing the rehearsal at the venue. If a wedding gets booked, I have a back up plan to have the rehearsal at the hotel where I have rooms blocked off at. I think 30 days is enough time to make other arrangments, but like you said, September is a popular month so go with your gut feeling!
