Rehearsal dinner outfit

Monica, on April 16, 2020 at 3:55 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 14
How many of you are planning to put together an outfit for your rehearsal dinner? Im just doing some online window shopping and saw some cute white dresses which I would have no where to wear because I dont wear dresses much but thought about maybe for rehearsal. But at the same time im not sure if its practical. The rehearsal dinner happens right after the rehearsal right?

I dont want anything over the top, I was looking at simple dresses/outfits. The only thing is that theres a lot of things going on the friday (day before the wedding). The day before I will be spending the whole day setting up the reception hall & then right before the rehearsal (1hr before) I will set up decorations in the church. I will most likely be in sweats all day to set up. We get the keys at 9am for the reception hall and access to the church around 5pm. Im hoping the reception set up wont take all day but maybe I wont have a lot of time to change my clothes and get ready in between. And our rehearsal dinner is going to be pretty casual we probably will go to a place like Buffalo Wild wings or we will be ordering pizzas at home.
We plan to elope in June. Should we even still have a rehearsal dinner? And if we do, to dress up or not? Another sub question: for those that diy decorated for your wedding how long did it take to set up.

I believe most people wear a dress for the rehearsal. I bought a cheap sundress to wear for mine.

I found a really cute white romper from Venus for under $20. A lot of stuff is on sale right now if you have time to browse. Lulus also has some relatively inexpensive options also. I’ll probably never wear the romper again, but for the price I was ok with itRehearsal dinner outfit 1

Is there anyone you can enlist to help your with your tasks for the day, or take over so you can step away a little early at least? You’ll feel better if you change into something cute and powder your nose so to say 😊 that’s why I liked the romper, still casual, but will feel like I’m the bride still lol I have a lot to do myself that day, but also want to enjoy the festivities without looking back and feeling like I missed out

I feel you. We are getting married at our home (outdoors) so it has to be set up completely! And since it’s outside, I can’t set up too early because of wind, etc. It will all come together for you!

I bought a fishing dress for my rehearsal dinner. Sort of flowy and springy which I will return. My point is it doesn’t have to be white. If you don’t like or prefer dresses, a jumpsuit should be super cute.

Yes I know it doesn’t have to be white. My issue was Im not sure if its practical to get dressed into something nice, I might not have the time to get ready. Its going to be a busy day and I will have to setup the church in whatever outfit im wearing if I decide to change.

I simply ordered a bunch of white dresses online from various website and picked the one I liked best for my rehearsal dinner, and then returned the rest. I would ask your venue about the timing of the rehearsal and try to schedule it as early as possible. Our actual rehearsal was first thing in the morning because this was the time slot when the venue was able to schedule us (we literally rolled out of bed and wore jeans to the rehearsal). It ended up working out well because our rehearsal dinner was largely DIY and then we had the rest of the day to get things set up, and there was still plenty of time to get dressed and ready before the rehearsal dinner in the evening.

The rehearsal for our church will be in the evening Because we dont have access to the building and for everyone to get off work. We get the keys to our reception hall at 9am. We will need the most amount of time to set up reception because we have to diy everything. So the day will be
    9am Reception setup starts
5pm church setup starts6pm rehearsal 7pm rehearsal dinner. So its jam packed. I just Hope reception hall doesn’t take all day. i know for sure we will be done before 5pm but Just not sure what time.
And im thinking I will feel awkward if im the only one dressed up because some ppl will be coming from work so more than likely instead of a dress it will be a shirt and jeans.

I wore a white lace dress for my rehearsal, but the rehearsal dinner was in a Country Club so it was a bit fancy. Plus, I often wear dresses (like my go to summer outfit is a sundress). I rewore it during the honeymoon too. If you're doing a casual event, I would make the attire match the event. Maybe a cute romper or something since you said you don't really wear dresses on a regular basis.

Yes definitely going to be casual here. Either pizzas at home or a restaurant like applebees or buffalo wild wings.

I’d probably wear pants and a nice top. Something fun.
