Rehearsal Dinner Necessary?

Theadra, on February 1, 2020 at 3:14 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6
Hello ladies,

I was wondering if a rehearsal dinner is necessary? (We think our venue might have it included but we have to double check) Hubby and I of course want to save up as much as we can. But I just want to hear from other brides or anyone in general if they’re completely ditching a rehearsal dinner? Regrets? Ethics (if you did have a RD) and we are having rehearsal the day before , which we have to schedule with our venue.

If you have a rehearsal, you need to provide food for the people involved in the rehearsal after. That being said, it can be super casual, such as pizza and beer. It doesn’t need to be a formal event and doesn’t need to extend to anyone outside of the rehearsal group (wedding party, family, etc).

We are ordering wings for ours. We definitely want a rehearsal. I want to make sure timing is perfect with our songs.

We definitely needed the rehearsal! Having dinner after was SO worth it to us. It actually was really relaxing and we had so much fun with our bridal party, parents, siblings, grandparents etc. It was a great way to kick off the weekend and
actually socialize... there is just not enough time at the reception to really catch up with people.

Yes, if you are having a rehearsal it’s proper etiquette to provide a meal afterwards. The dinner is usually hosted by the grooms parents. It can be as simple as you want. I had a friend that got married last year and they just had pizza trucks come by their parents backyard and everyone had a great time.

If you have a rehearsal, you have to pay for the rehearsal dinner for all those that attend the rehearsal plus any of the attendees spouses. You can just order pizzas or something though, doesn't have to be anything extravagant.
