Rehearsal Dinner Location

Trinity, on July 29, 2020 at 5:15 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 13

Hello all,

Where are you having your rehearsal dinner if you do have one? We are having steak, fish, or vegetables dinner for our reception, so we want to stay away from those for our rehearsal dinner.

Thanks!

We had our rehearsal dinner at a local Italian restaurant. We made sure to pick food that would be different from what was being served at our wedding. For instance, we had turkey and prime rib at our wedding so for our rehearsal dinner we had chicken and ham. Our venue had the option to have our rehearsal dinner there, but they were way more expensive. We had talked about during Mexican since I love Mexican food, but I didn't know what my grandparents would eat since they aren't really into Mexican food. One of guests was a vegetarian so I also didn't know what she would eat because a lot of Mexican food is meat based.

My fiance and I picked a BBQ restaurant in the town we're getting married in as our rehearsal dinner venue. It's more of a sit down restaurant and not at all a messy BBQ restaurant.

We had our rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant and they were nice enough to give us the entire outdoor patio and they even had a prefix menu already so that made it really easy for us and they even printed out menus for us

Most people go super casual with pizza or burgers.

So as much as I would love to have our rehearsal dinner at our venue, their price point for it was HORRENDOUS.
We are planning on having our rehearsal dinner at an Italian restaurant about 10 minutes away from the venue. He’s giving us our own space and not charging a room rental fee plus he worked with me to get the price to a somewhat manageable amount and gave us a first responder discount because of my FH’s job. Fingers crossed we are able to do it 🤞🏼

Daughter's was at a brewery restaurant chain; we booked their private room and had a buffet of salad, a variety of deep dish pizzas, and a chicken entree, with cake we brought in for dessert. The wedding reception dinner was a filet mignon and chicken breast duet plate, so it was significantly different.

We are crashing our favorite barbecue place in town. But we are a very small, relaxed, 90% family wedding and not very fancy or fussy.

Since we’re having beef peppercorn or chicken, salad, steamed veggies & garlic mashed potatoes for our reception, we decided on Italian.

My in-laws are hosting the reception at a restaurant, not sure which one yet.

We opted to forgo a formal rehearsal dinner since our bridal party is so small (there's just 4 of us). We are having and I Do BBQ at my parents the night before with our families and out of town guests. It'll be casual and we'll do yard games and my dad and mom are making all the food. We have access to our venue on wedding day starting at 11am and our ceremony starts at 5:30pm so we're just doing a quick run through with our pastor that morning.

Our wedding resort has 4 restaurants and decided to just do Apps and Drinks the night before dockside using either the Tiki Bar or Raw Bar for the theme (Both are side by side) and we'll probably just do finger foods (conch fritters, flatbread pizza, chicken strips, etc.) We didn't want to put anyone in a case of drinking and driving - this way if they stay out late they can stumble to their hotel room just feet away. LOL
