Are you asking about a strange gift to register for or a strange gift to give as a guest? I've seen couples register for personal items like shoes or wallets and I found that super inappropriate.

I was just asking to see what people maybe find inappropriate as you said because we don’t want to take advantage of our family and friends wanting to do something nice for us and yes I think shoes is a little much

Just make a check list and a to complete by date to help keep to your schedule. I’d say that as long as it’s for your household it should be fine. Personal gifts on a registry unseemly.

Thank you that’s very helpful we have lived together for a while and have 5 children so household stuff is always needed I just didn’t want to be all over the place with our list

You definitely want to register for common household items, not personal items as Caytlyn said.

Most registries give a list of things to look through for most common registered or most gifted gifts- I used Zola.

Why not just do Wedding Gift Cards. To the places you want to shop that you may need for your home. Just register with those retailers.

We had a few guests (mostly close friends and family) laugh that we included a cat tree on our registry. But our cat is an important part of our family too! And another crazy cat lady friend did end up buying it for us haha. I say add what you want! Worst case scenario everyone thinks it's "too weird" and doesn't buy it

Zola is a really good starting point if (like me) you don’t know what to register for. You definitely can add strange things, but as mentioned above it’s best to stick with household items.

I think people are getting more creative nowadays with what they add, especially since most couples already live together. We really liked using amazon (but also had BB&B). One thing we had on there that I thought was different was an automated feeder for our cats. It was actually one of the first things purchased and really came in handy while we were away for our wedding weekend!
