Registry

Kenna, on May 16, 2021 at 1:43 PM Posted in Registry 0 8
My FH and I have lived together since 2018. Bought our first house in 2019. We are getting married in September of this year. Because we have lived together for 3 years now he said it would be pointless to do a registry because we have everything for our house. However I feel we need to do one for small things we don’t want to buy ourselves (I. E. Bathroom towels, matching dishes, matching silverware). We are just trying to figure out where to make our registry. Any ideas??

Bed Bath and Beyond is popular, and has a registry checklist. Target is another popular registry.

If you are not open to matching upgrades, then what fun stuff do you want that you wouldn’t buy yourself? Related to a shared hobby or entertaining guests.
Make sure to have gifts in a wide range of prices. Some will buy that $400 item immediately and others may only have $5 or 10 to buy smaller items with.

My husband and I lived together in an apartment for three years before we got married, but we still choose to register. We registered for items we knew we'd use in the future especially since we planned on buying a house. We registered at Macy's, Crate & Barrel, and IKEA.

We hadn't been living together that long, but we had each been living on our own for a long time. We registered for upgrades (towels, sheets), other things that we wouldn't necessarily have purchased for ourselves (Instant Pot, Food Saver), and for some "activities" (board games, etc). We registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and Target - I've also heard good things about Amazon's registries.

We had Amazon and Bed, Bath, and Beyond, as we too had been living together for two years before our wedding. It was great and we got everything we wanted! Highly recommend both of those places!

My FH and I have both been living independently for a decade, and have lived together since 2016. I've also always been a forward-thinker and have used Christmas or birthday gifts as opportunities to get nice pots and pans, a nice knife set, etc. We're also fortunate enough to have been financially comfortable that we've bought all the upgrades as we wanted them.

I am doing a very very small registry. A couple small things that will probably mostly be given at the bridal shower, and a couple large things because I know my extended family likes to go all in together on one expensive gift. Other than that I'm going to have gift cards listed on the registry to places like Menards because we know we want to do some home renovations.

FH and I have lived together for a while too. Our registry is upgrades to things we already own and fun stuff we’d never buy ourselves. We went with Bed Bath and Beyond and Crate and Barrel.

My FH and I have lived together for about two years. We are registered at Target & Bed, Bath and Beyond. We did upgrades along with some fun things for hosting. On our Target registry, we put a bunch of fun board games because we love hosting game nights. We think our college friends will really like that too since they don't always want to be buying plates and towels.

We combined too households when we moved in together because we are older and more established. I did not want to do a registry, but we were questioned on it and I just decided to give in. I declined a shower as I didn't want a gift giving party. Registered at Crate and Barrel - we had planned to do new flatware at some point so registered for that and a few other things that would be nice to have but we didn't necessarily need. The other registry is for games to build a game closet... we'll see if anyone bites on that. Basically I didn't feel comfortable registering for money for any type of fund and figured most people would give us money anyway.
