Registry wine glasses dilemma

Bride2Be, on July 12, 2021 at 2:39 PM Posted in Registry 0 9
Would love some opinions on the number of wine glasses we should register for! So I’m definitely doing sets of 8 for red, white, champagne flutes, and I was also wanting some stemless, but it seems like a lot to also have 8 stemless wine glasses. Is this normal? What do y’all think? Should I just do 4 or stick with 8?

I know they can also double as normal glasses but we are also registering for 8 tall and 8 short regular drinking glasses and also 8 acrylic (they were SUPER cute so I couldn’t pass up on the patio friendly plastics)
Thanks for your thoughts!

Unless you throw a bunch of parties for wine snobs, I'd go with all steemless wine glasses. I used to have sets of 8 for every kind of wine, martini, low and high ball glasses, etc. It was such a pain to move with them or replace one if it got broken. I finally donated them when I moved from Alaska to New Hampshire and went with stemless. It's so much easier to store and clean them! Definitely do tall and short regular drinking glasses and go for the patio ones though! Smiley smile

Maybe instead of the white wine glasses I could do stemless! I personally LOVE wine and I’m obsessed with the red glasses I picked out and all the numbers were overwhelming haha plus I wanna host people over and I wanna make sure I have enough. Thanks so much! That’s a great idea!

I'd pick either stemmed or stemless, but not both - seems a little repetitive to me (especially if your stemless glasses look similar to your short drinking glasses, like ours do!).

I have broken more than 8 stemmed glasses in the last few years alone so would go with stemless and also double that amount LOL

I also feel fancy if I have a party and enough wine glasses for everyone!

I think you can do stemless instead of the white wine glasses. That’s a lot of glasses. You’ll probably use the champagne glasses the least but I understand wanting them. I think red and champagne glasses and stemless for white is a good compromise.

It’s not too much if you have storage space ! We have regular white and red glasses for regular consumption, but I do also have a set of 12 stemless! Our storage space is limited Smiley sad and they live in a box in a closet, lol, BUT I love them for parties. They go safely in the dishwasher so I don’t have to hand wash 10 wine glasses after hosting , but they’re a bit classier than plastic cups. So, I love mine and get use out of them, AND just because you’ve put them on a registry doesn’t guarantee you’ll end up with them ! The biggest (or only) reason I’d say no to them is if you had nowhere to keep them. Otherwise, it’s a wishlist, not everything on there needs to be perfectly practical Smiley winking

That’s a great idea too! My fiancé likes the stemless and I like to have the right glass for type of wine! I like the idea of having them stored away if we have a party or need multiple. It’s just so hard to have the mindset of what we need for the future vs just for the 2 of us! Thank you for this!
