Registry: Big items thoughts ?

Halle, on June 6, 2019 at 4:54 PM Posted in Registry 0 24

Hey beautiful brides,

I was wondering what is everyone picking as their big items for their registry. Me and FH picked carnival gift cards for our honeymoon. FH wanted a nice ninja blender because he loves smoothies. I wanted a nice floor fan that could possible do heat too. LOL I feel like our "big" items may need a little help. What are some of yours?

I have a honeymoon fund but I did itemize it out based on activities for some while keeping one as just general cash fund for honeymoon. But for the activities I did itemize out, none were under $50

We didn’t do honeymoon funds. Our big ticket items are a grill, a roomba, and a coffee table. All are available for contributions, if someone doesn’t want to pay the full ticket price at once.

I love to cook, so most of my expensive items are for the kitchen. A high-end knife set, roasting pans, a countertop convection oven that fits a whole chicken (I hate using the oven in the summer), a pressure canner. Also, upgrading my down comforter and asking for a coffee table that has storage in it.

We had quite a few. A duvet cover and duvet insert that were about $300 each, a shark vacuum, air fryer, instant pot, dishes, silverware, a pots and pan set, a dutch oven, and toaster oven. In our experience all of our big ticket items were purchased first.

A really nice pot set from All-Clad ($475), a nice dog door ($480), a large rug ($320), a ceiling fan ($250) and a smart garage door opener system ($219). Those are the only ones of our 84 gifts over $200. The two over $400 we opened on Amazon for "contributions" so people can just put some money towards it and we pay the rest (or another guest does).

I didn’t know you could do that on Amazon. Great idea!

Our only real big ticket item was a Roomba. There wasn’t really anything else we wanted (that we didn’t already have).

We put a patio set and coffee table and side tables as our big items. I also wanted a Nutra Ninja so I put that in there too! And FH wants some cast iron pans. The big items are set up for contributions like MisstoMorris said above. That way people can put some towards it without having to spend the full amount.

I have a high end knife set, nice vacuum, luggage set, and blu ray player on our list. We wanted to put a new TV, but we are hoping people just give to the honeymoon fund instead and we will pull from there to get a new one.

Kitchen aid, knife set (FH is a chef so kitchen stuff was important to him), grill, and possibly a new kitchen table

We have a Roomba, a new stainless steel trash can, and a new grill. Those all range in price from $129.00 to $270.00. We are also doing a honeymoon fund. For the big items, I set it up to where multiple people could pay for the same item and gift share it.

Our big item is a honeymoon fund, as thats what most of FH's family wants to gift us towards. My family wanted us to have a more traditional registry, so o there we have a patio set, a patio umbrella, a vacuum, and an inflatable hot tub (But thats mostly a joke. I really doubt anyone will buy that lol.)

But on Amazon you can set a "price limit" I think its called and anything over a certain amount, more than one person can go in on. I think ours is set at $100
