Registries-bride stuff?

Katie, on January 19, 2021 at 2:14 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 13
Is anyone doing a separate bridal shower registry? Or just the wedding registry for both? Also who is supposed to buy the “bride” stuff? Do you put it on the registry or do people just buy it? Or do I buy it myself? I can’t find any etiquette rules for this online

We used one registry for everything. Most people at my shower got kitchen items. What do you mean by "bride" stuff? Out of all of the weddings + bridal showers I've attended, I've only seen people register for items that they would be using as a couple. Like kitchen gadgets, linens, dishes, etc.

Most couples make one registry for everything. It usually consists of household items to start their lives together, but can include anything the couple enjoys together: hobbies, shared interests.

Often the bride buys her own labelled items.

In my experience, usually the bride buys those items for herself.

Usually the bride buys that herself. I have been invited to a couple of lingerie showers, but never went to them. Usually at engagement parties you'll have some guests bring Mr. & Mrs. labeled stuff or monogramed items, but it isn't guaranteed.

Most of the time, the bride purchases those items herself!

One registry. And don't just put low price things on early, then large items. A lot of people set a budget for both and look at the whole list early on. They may decide both gifts, even if they only send one . Or may decide something expensive they want to give, and give you only potholders at a shower, so they could afford the stove you want with almost all the money budgeted for both. Also, some pick both gifts early on, but look intending to buy the major thing with a union or employee discount someplace else. So cover a large price range to start.

You don't generally register for that stuff.
